    Ridden a lot in the lakes and always thought about doing Scafell Pike but people who walk it say it's not worth doing the descent would be more a push so put me off but that looks quite good IMO, I reckon this has inspired me to try it sometime 👍🏼

      PS how much did you push down off the summit

      I would say it's worth while but not something I would do again in a hurry, as it's a pain to drive round there and can be very busy.
      I did a lot more of the summit section than I thought, small section right at the top from the summit cairn, then the section below the slabs and lingmel col is probably the worst bit as it's steep with big chunky baby heads.

      This route or in the Lake District, this route is pretty full on unless your used to mountain riding it's probably not for you.
      Things like the Borrowdale Bash or Sticks pass on Helvellyn are great introductions to Lake District riding.

    What route down did you take?

    • @mtbguides_Rich
      @mtbguides_Rich  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Summit down to Lingmel col then Hollow stones , hung a left and down to Wasdale Head. It's the classic tourist route.
      It gets very busy so I recommend doing it at a quiet time if you want any fun.

      @@andrewsimpson1051 It was fun legally on Snowdon till MTB's came into conflict with walkers. then they had to have a voluntary restricted ban. Facts are, walkers are the priority in all national parks, with all other users playing second fiddle.

    • @mtbguides_Rich
      @mtbguides_Rich  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No different to wild campers , paragliding , wild swimmers , photographers, picnics , rock climbers none of them have the legal right to enjoy there hobby's, I could go on. I don't actually believe that on open access land on a PRW owned by an organisation like the trust that promotes access for all, I would be committing civil trespass. Unless asked not to do so by an appropriate person, like most privately owned public places like parks or shops access is implied so until your asked to leave/stop you are not actually committing CT.
      Its really a disgrace that other users groups were not included in the CROW act hopefully things will change in the future, lets not forget that CROW only gave walkers rights to do what they were already doing.

      @@protarget1 Snowdon has a volunorty agreement that is very well respected by the MTB community and pretty sensible giving how busy it gets. There was a problem it was sorted out with a sensible agreement not a Ban.
