- So if you have not used the P&O My Holiday app(which is not an app) or you are not tech savvy and just want some help on how to use the app thats actually just a website then this video is for you.
Dont worry it is simple to use once you get your head around it. its not the best "app" as it doesn't give you all the information you need for events on the ship so make sure to carry your Horizon info magazine with you.
But you will use it everyday to book your meals & shows in the Headliners theatre so we are here to give you a heads up before your trip so you can save some time and enjoy your trip more

Ah, glad you did this video. There is a similar ‘app’ that isn’t an app on the Marella Explorer that we went on recently which was quite confusing, and we featured it in a vlog. This was really good to see in advance of our trip. Cheers

Did you book your cruise early or wait to see if you could pick up a deal nearer departure time?
This cruise was booked 2 years ago. We should of gone on it last year but covid ruined it
Very informative thanks. On your Britannia Britannia embarkation vlog you said you booked your dining when in the checkin/ waiting to board queue. How did you did this when you didn't have your cruise cards to input the last 6 digits? Thanks.
We got the number off the sheet you have to print off at home for embarkation.
You just need to be on the ships wifi to be able to access the "app"
It's just so you can book the shows and any restaurants you can book once onboard.

We tried to use this on Iona on her 2 day shakedown when she first came out and it was painful. Just kept freezing. Hopefully it’ll much improved for Britannia

Thanks for that it was a great help. Can you just tell me, when you have made a reservation on the app can you just turn up at the restaurant at the time booked or do you have to wait until you are advised the table is ready?

If it's for a specific time, then just turn up at that time, if its on the virtual queue, then you have to wait until it tells you the tables ready
Good informative video. How far ahead can you prebook dining options is it only when you get on the ship or can you book pre cruise ?
You can pre book some about 3 weeks before and some you just join the virtual queue just before you want to dine. If you pre book before your cruise you have to pay £10 each reservation fee which gets knocked off your bill. But if like us you want to use your on board credit then just book when you get on the ship and you dont have to pay the fee
Super useful to know you can’t get this app until onboard, I kept looking on the App Store for it!! Do you know if you have the premium drinks package is it 15 drinks per day including soft drinks or alcoholic only and unlimited anything else? Thanks for your videos - going in 3 weeks and learnt loads!

Great vid thanks my father is in another cabin to us he's elderly and not app tec savvy so can I book things dinning shows etc for us and him eg sindu for 3 from my cabin number. or does the booking have to be done separately like he book sindu from his cabin number if you see what I mean thanks for any help with his
You will be able to book the MDR and shows on your phone but im not sure about the speciality restaurants as we only booked those for just us
Great videos and comprehensive. Very well done for your first cruise. Q. Did you feel that the P&O IONA cruise catered for your age adequately, as you are both young, or does it cater more for the over 50's and retirees ? My last cruise on Britannia before Covid was full mainly of retirees : teachers, civil servants and retired police officers.
I'm going on IONA end of the month so thanks for these videos, especially this one on the App that is not an App but a website. It is confusing as some things can be booked ahead of time on the P&O website under your booking such as tours and a few other things, others you have to ring up and some it seems you have to wait until you are onboard.
Thanks. Ye we did feel a bit like that. We enjoyed the 710 club as the artists were more modern than in the other venues.
One day we walked through the clubhouse and there was a presentation about the history of the telephone 😅
P&O iona seems to be aimed at the older customer when you compare it other newish ships

Hi Mark all Gratuities are included with the price you pay with P&O as far as we know
Very informative as wasn't sure how it all worked. One thing.....how do you keep count of the number of drinks you have. We won't be doing a drinks package. I assume that you don't sign for them anymore?
Hi thanks and yes we still signed for our drinks on the tablet. Am guessing it monitors on there how many you are having

Hi thanks for this info. Going on Iona in Feb. please can you tell me do you have to pre book every time to use the MDR’S for breakfast, lunch and evening meals and how far in advance can you book?
Can't remember, we always booked our evening meal on the app. Have you watched our Iona free/included food video? We spoke about it in that video
What would you do if you wanted to book a table for 7 as noticed that the booking for the restaurant’s only allows for 6, great videos by the way
I think it let us do 6 because there were 3 groups of 2 that had linked our accounts together. There were bigger groups at tables so you should be able to book for 7

Hubby & myself are on iona on 17th September. Have found your videos really interesting & informative.
1. Should we be prepared for all types of weather in norway?
2. Did you book excursions for every day you were off the ship ?
3. If you had a non booked excursion , when going off the ship was there anything to do near the port terminal ?

Hi thanks so much and yes definitely be prepared for any kind of weather, even the local tour guide was telling us how unpredictable the weather can be. Think we dropped on a bad week lol 😆 we didn't do Excursions at every place but there was plenty of companies to book up with off the ship if you didn't have anything booked and changed your mind last minute, some places we enjoyed just having a stroll round at our own leisure instead of doing a trip but maybe depending on where you go if you didn't do any trips you might be done after a few hours. Hope this makes sense and helps you !

I think you may have mentioned about an app , . I've tried to add the p &, o app from playstore but not sure which one it is ...
Also did you precooked the shows etc on-board with the app as well.

They call it a app but its a website that you can only use once on board the ship. We booked the shows once on board
Just wanted to ask ... I didn't want to buy the drinks package and will be bringing my own soft drinks onboard but are we allowed to drink them in the different dining areas? (The free dinning areas) Or we have to order drinks?

Can you pre book the oive grove
Yes we did it on the ship, we went to the restaurant to book via them
We are a couple going with some friends. If I was to book a table for 4 at a restaurant how will the charge be divided.
When they take your order they ask for your room card which will have you and your partner linked on so it will charge what ever you 2 order to your room and what ever your friends have to there room card that they will give when they order so you dont have to worry about trying to splitting the bill.
how to contact friends through the cruise wifi app
You can't message other people on the P&O app unfortunately

Only one of you needs the app. All of your group on the booking will be in that one account. You can also link other groups together so you can do group bookings for meals

Yes download it beforehand then it's ready for when you board 😀

Can't you use your own mobile data?? If in Europe.
You just connect to the ships wifi. You don't have to buy the wifi package the app works on the wifi for free
