P&O Iona - Eating Our Way Around The Ship! Showing You The Free/Included Restaurants On Board

- So what is one thing that's pretty important on a cruise as let's face it you're gonna be spending alot of time doing it ... well you will if you're like us 😁 Eating of course!
In this video we show you what food is free/ Included on board the P&O Iona ship. And when we say free well obviously it's included in the price paid initially but there is no extra charges onboard that may occur in other Restaurants in the ship(look out for other videos on some of these)
There is plenty of places to eat onboard Iona as you will see in the video. So sit back relax and sorry in advance if we make you hungry!
What was your favourite place to eat on Iona that was included? Or if you haven't been on the ship yet which are you most looking forward to trying?
Thanks so much for watching we really appreciate each and everyone of you. And if you haven't already don't forget to subscribe and give this video a big thumbs up if you enjoyed it.
There is still more Iona content to come but we will leave a link of our playlist down below to watch previous Videos from this cruise.

Love that you showed all the free restaurants. Usually people only show the actual ones that cost more. Your views were beautiful.
Thank you so much Leslie, we did do a couple of the paid ones as well but think the main one was to show what was included as these cruises can sometimes be very expensive and think people want to know what they are getting before they start adding on extras 😁
Best detailed review on YT for the majority of people searching for answers of what is included for free, especially when you are on a budget.
i love all your reviews they are very thorough and by far better than other other people's reviews, keep up the great work!
Thanks so Sonia that's really kind of you. Especially on this video when vlogging was very much new to us and this was our 1st cruise. Glad they are useful to you 😁
@OneCouplesAdventure aw well you did an excellent job, I was gona go on arvia but I've booked in on Iona now so I'm looking forward to seeing all your iona videos soon☺️
Yes. The Quays is great. Loved the fish and chips. Going on again in October. Ready to try some different places. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for this video. Both the wife and I fully enjoyed watching it. Nice one x
Thanks for watching
Found this really useful as we’re going on our first ever cruise next May on the Iona.
Great thanks,I’m on this ship February and your information will helped me a lot.
Thank you! Going on Iona in a couple of weeks and can't wait!!!!
Thanks Guys ! Great as always ! Going on Iona for the first time in December
Have a great time when you go
Thanks for reviewing all the free of charge restaurants. Usually, reviewers only show the select restaurants so it made a nice change. It will be our first time on Iona so thanks for explaining and showing us the ins and outs
Thank you. Hope you have an amazing time
Oh you two, I am really enjoying your videos...
Thanks so much
Thank you for sharing, this was such a good & useful review! ❤️
Accompaniments😅 very useful thank you both ❤
Thankyou for this. I'm going on my first ever cruise on Iona, to the Fjords, in May...on my own 😊
Thanks Lesley, hope you have an amazing first cruise. Wait till you see the scenery 😍
Thanks guys, very informative.
Thanks so much Ian
We are booked on Iona next spring to the fjords and we’ve watched all your videos, they are very informative and enjoyable to watch. We can’t wait for our trip. More videos please! They’re great. 😊
Thanks so much
Thank you so much am going on my first P&O cruise 🚢 next year and watching you guys is making me so excited ❤❤❤
Brilliant Video very informative looking to go to Norwegian Fjords in September can't wait to try those fish and chips 😁
Oooo the fish and chips are delicious 😋
For any veggies there is plenty of choice in the free range. If you go to Taste 360 they will cook a fresh veggie burger for you if you ask them. My Hubby’s vegan I eat fish but not meat and can eat no problems. 😀👍
Lovely honest review. Thank you. Good to see not all
People book helicopter flights and yacht excursions!
Thanks so much and haha no helicopter for us 🤣
Thank you for this information, we are going on the Iona in March 2024, and will try your suggestions, many thanks ☺️
Love this video - you started in our favourite ‘included’ restaurant, The Olive Grove - I can almost taste the Tiramisu 😂
That's the best on board along with the boardwalk .
The ship is OK but after all the cruises we have done with p and o I don't think they want any loyalty cruisers anymore ,no deck entertainment at sea,no cocktail party ,no cruise loyalty party ,the next one booked with p and o to new Orleans, miami, mexico etc will be our last . Better lines to suit us out there
We have been told that by other people about how P&O has changed. Have you tried MSC? They have all those things and more on their ships.
@@OneCouplesAdventure we are on ambassador on the 21st to the canaries ,lots of ex p and o cruisers on this cruise
Great vlog. I love the food ones
We love doing them lol
We went to Norway on the Iona a couple of weeks ago for our 1st cruise. We loved it, We liked eating in the main restaurants which were lovely great waiter / waitress service as me and my wife don’t cope well with the hustle and bustle of a buffet. Although my 13 year old son ate his own weight in Katsu curry during the week. We are now hooked and have just booked to go into the med on the Arvia next year.
You must be Stokies. Excellent review. Just what I want for my cruise on Iona
Thanks and yes haha we are!
Thank you so much, going to the fjords in May and you have made things so much easier for us, its great to be able to see everything beforehand
Thanks so much Dawn, you will have a great time! The Ship And the Fjords are lovely
We're going on the Iona in May for our first ever cruise. Thanks for the very informative vlog.Keep up the good work
Thanks so much, hope you have a great time when you go

Really great video. Loved your format and all the info you included. So helpful! Am going on Iona in April to the Norwegian Fjords and these videos are a old mine for a first time cruiser so thank you!
Thanks Rachel glad you found it useful, really hope you enjoy your first cruise 😁
Many thanks, very helpful. I'm on Iona next week and getting a heads up first is so beneficial. 😁
Thanks so much 😁
Loved seeing all the wonderful food choices. We've never been on a cruise but would love to eat our way around the ship! We did think however all the restaurants were free onboard. Caught us by surprise you have to pay extra for some. Thanks so much for bringing us along.
Hi Dave and Kathy , thank you so much for watching, there is plenty of choice so you can't go hungry , not even the pickiest of eaters lol. And yes seems like most crusies have restaurants that require a extra payment. They also looked good too though, we might have tried them also lol. Hope you are both having happy travels still 😁
Thanks for that going this sat so cannot wait !! makes me hungry
Sorry for making you hungry lol 😆, hope you have an amazing time
Really informative….. enjoyed the video. Going on IONA in 3 weeks so really helpful. Thank you

Thanks for watching
We are going on the Iona in February thank you so much for the free guide to restaurants we have been on the Azura but she only has 3200 guest and not so many restaurants pity about the celebration nights being put down to 1 week we loved that part never mind, you have made a really good video which is sure to help a lot of newbies thanks again
Les
Thanks so much Les, hope you have a brilliant time when you go on the Iona
@@OneCouplesAdventure it is what you make of it ,we try most things and as the wife doesn’t eat spicy food it is as I say what it is but there is so much to try we won’t be bored and dressing up is out thing so it it what it is thanks so the blog really informative

@@OneCouplesAdventure I’m a Yorkshire girl and we say tea instead of dinner too . I really have to think when I’m trying to sound posh lol 😆.
Great video! So much helpful information. We're on the Iona in December for our Honeymoon.
Liked & Subscribed!
Thanks so much Stephen, and what a great way to spend your honeymoon
I'm on the brand new Arvia next March - Iona's sister ship. I think they are more or less identical. It's my first cruise so watching a lot of the videos on Iona. I found yours to be very informative.
Hi Valerie thank you so much , the Arvia looks amazing, we hope you have a great time. Where are you cruising to ?
@@OneCouplesAdventure Flying to Barbados then Martinique, St Kitts, St Lucia before crossing the Atlantic calling into the Canaries and Spain before finishing up in Southampton. Really looking forward to it.
Wow what a trip, would love to do a carribean one at some point
@@valerieg5674 I’m doing the same cruise in March too. Arvia is almost identical to Iona except one of the pools has a swim up bar (handy in the Caribbean). I did an Iona cruise in January and it was excellent so definitely looking forward to more of the same
Great info loving your vlogs, I'm sailing end of July
Thank you so much, really hope you have a great time, any more questions just ask 😁
Those free food free meals are so British styles
Great video, thanks guys. We're on Iona this Sat.
Thank you and how exciting, hope you have a brill time. Its a great ship and the Fjords are beautiful 😍
Going on Iona on the 16th of July to Norway with the Girlfriend thank you so much for the insight and tour of the restaurants this will help us alot being our first Cruise thank you once again keep up the good work guys
Great video will be very helpful. I have just subscribed, your enthusiasm is wonderful not just another cruise video to music , must be the Stoke on Trent way .
Thanks so much David, really appreciate the comment
Your videos are great very informative

Great vid guys looking at going for Easter 2026 just slightly worried the kids may get board never done a cruise before but the price seems good
Great videos,we are on the Iona in March have also been on Virtuosa so your comparison video was very interesting, thanks for doing the leg work for us.
Thanks so much Derek, have a great time on the Iona. Did you enjoy the Virtuosa?
Yes we did, fantastic ship and excellent staff, could not find fault at all.looking forward to seeing how Iona compares.
thankyou great information 4 weeks to go
Thanks so much Andrew
Loved the video. We are going on the Iona. 4th February. Neither of us have cruised before. And what are the mistakes that fury’s timers always make
Thanks so much, really hope you enjoy your first cruise
Great video!
Thank you Kinny
We on iona next march. Brilliant video thank you. Will be our 1st on this ship. Did you have to book the afternoon tea please? Many thanks
Thanks. We did book it on the app the day before as it can fill up
Hi guys! We started watching your Iona series at the weekend after it popped up in recommended videos (we're off on Iona ourselves for the first time this coming weekend and had been looking at tours of the ship etc) and really love your videos!
We've just got to this foodie episode and it's making us so hungry! LOL
We've just subscribed and look forward to checking out your other holiday series' !
🛳 🌞 🌊
Thanks so much and have a great time on the Iona
@@OneCouplesAdventure Thank you very much! From what we've seen in your vlogs, we'll love it! 😁
Hi, i am going on this trip in 3 weeks. Thank you for all this information. Did you have to book/ pay extra for the afternoon tea and is it on every day? Thank you. You made my mouth water. Can't wait to order those chunky chips x😊
Hi, this one was free but there is another one you can pay extra for. The prices might have changed now though as this was a couple of years ago
I should not watch food video's when I haven't eaten yet. It all looked good but I really want some fish and chips! Thank you.
Haha the fish and chips was delicious 😋
thank you!
Great Iona reviews , we are heading on our first cruise. Food looks amazing , where was your favourite meal and what was it
Thanks
The quays fish and chips was really nice. But the food in the restaurants was good aswell. When are you going?
12th November . Cant wait . We were meant to go 2020 for anniversary but covid knacked our plans
Hi .
Had an amazing time and you were right . Food was great everywhere .
Are you planning a trip on Arvia? If you do could you let me know as have booked to go in June.
Thanks again .
Barry
Hi glad you had a great time, no plans to go on the Arvia as of yet, you never know though would like to one day
Great video!!
We are going on our first cruise in Iona in July and this has helped us with a lots of questions we had!! But one thing we are confused about is the dress code for dining in the restaurants? We are 3 adults and a 17 ye old boy. Also the gala night; is that black tie?
Thank you for your help x
Dress code for MDR is more on the smart side, collard shirt or polo and trousers/chinos. We have got a separate video for the gala night that shows you a bit more in depth what to expect.
Hi guys, just watched your video…..fantastic!! Really really helpful, thank you! You mentioned you took drinks with you, just wanted to know if I took a bunch of spirits with me in the suitcase, would I get in trouble 😳
Hi thanks so much and yeah p and o let you take a certain amount of drink on with you, we took 28 cans of coke and no alcohol but I believe they let you take 1 bottle of spirits on each with you but maybe just check on their website first to double check. When do you go ?
This was so helpful for my first time on a Cruise! Does anyone know if there is still afternoon tea provided? I heard that they are no longer doing this...
Hi guys loved this vlog.
We are going to Florida in September this year but looking to book our 1st ever cruise hopefully in 2023.. such a minefield of different cruise offerings of what's included or not 🥴.
Liked & subscribed 😊
Hi Mark thanks so much, how exciting for florida in September, it will soon come round 😀 and we Have just done a second cruise on the MSC Virtuosa and the vlogs will be out in a couple of weeks , it might help you decide what type of cruise you would prefer, we also found it really overwhelming when we first booked one 😀
@@OneCouplesAdventure oh wow look forward to the MSC vlogs as its looking like a toss up between them and P &O at the moment so will watch to compare! 😊
Love going to Orlando and so many new things to experience since last visit 2017
Did you see any of the epic universe being built ?
@@OneCouplesAdventure mega excited for Epic universe can't wait 😍
Great vid...our cruise on Iona is April 23...are you two from Stoke area as i am...accent sounds familiar??
Ye we're two stokies lol
We're going on Iona tomorrow - our first cruise, and this was really helpful along with your other videos. One thing that would be useful to know is what if a couple doesn't want to share a table? The glimpse of the main restaurant just showed large tables. If you book do you have to share a table? Thanks.
You should be able to just select just the 2 of you when you book your time on the "app" or if you just go to the desk at the restaurant they will book you a table for 2
@@OneCouplesAdventure Letting you know that if you book for one of the main restaurants for two people, it will ask if you want to share a table or not.
Very much enjoyed your video. My partner and I have booked a cruise in June. Could you please tell me if dress codes are in force in the free eateries in the evening? Thank you.
Hi thanks so much. In the MDR men have to wear collared shirts and trousers, for formal nights we have videos from all the gala evenings on board all the P&O cruises we have done where we go into more detail about dress codes for those evenings. We tend to forget from cruise line to cruise line what all the rules are lol hard to keep up 😁
Do they have those auto alcoholic dispensers (for want of a better description) in the buffets? If so, are the wine glasses glass? Idea is to take them back to room for brought on board wine!
Yes they do have the auto dispensers. But not 100% about the glasses. They have tea mugs if there any good 😁
Hi guys, going on the PO iona in a couple of weeks for our first ever cruise. Do you have to dress smart for breakfast or can you wear shorts. Jeans. A bit apprehensive not one for dressing up generally.
No shorts and jeans etc is fine for breakfast 👍
Found you today!
Hi both and thanks this was really helpful and interesting although we have cruised loads before but not been on Iona yet. Do you have a copy of the drinks and cocktail menu at all as interested what the pricing is like nowadays, thanks. Tracey
No sorry. But if you google iona drinks menus plenty will show up on cruise blogs
Very informative as booked for the same trip in mid August. What would you recommend for the first mornings breakfast location wise, as I imagine it would be the most manic day. Do you need to book for Pearl etc or just rock up? Have enjoyed your videos, thanks.
We went to the pearl the 1st morning. We booked it the night before on the app/website once on the boat. Then the rest of the days we went to the buffet as the selection was better. They had different sausage and bits than the main 4 restaurants, it was busier but there is plenty of seats.
@@OneCouplesAdventure Much appreciated. Keep up the easy watching style.
Thanks for the clear explanation. I’m liking the idea of a cruise more and more. Your video has helped me leverage the idea with Mrs TinySmallFry. The only problem now is I’ve already booked the Holiday for next year I’m going to have to wait till 2024.😢
Thanks so much, and it's definitely worth trying one at least once. Hope you manage to try one in 2024. What are your plans for next year ?
I love the food blogs I don't put weight on I do eat non stop on a cruise but I walk round the ship a few times 🚶♀️🚶♀️
That's lucky wish we could say the same lol. Well have do more laps round the ship next time hehe 😜
In olive grove how did you get garlic doughballs? I cant see them on menu
Any time we can eat or there are specific times for breakfast lunch and diner 😊
Yes in the restaurants there are times. The buffet and quays are open more often
Restaurant timestamps:
Olive Grove - 1:12
Taste 360 - 3:26
Grab & Go - 6:09
Horizon - 6:56
The Quays - 12:23
Aqua/Opal/Pearl/Coral - 17:04
Can't wait to try their foods myself!
This was such a lovely Vlog. I guarantee by the time you leave you would’ve gain at least 20 pounds.
Thanks so much guys, how are you all ?hope you are all well 😀
Thanks for all the great info! Can you settle an argument for me? My wife insists that they take your name or cabin number when you go to one of these restaurants, just to make sure you only eat once for each sitting (breakfast, lunch, dinner). She also says you can't eat lunch in one restaurant and then go to another restaurant and get a second lunch. I told her you can eat as many lunches as you like in as many venues as you like. Which of us is correct?
As far as we know its unlimited so you would be right. They do either have your card or you book a time on the app. But this is the reason my clothes don't fit the same after 4 cruises in 6 months lol
@@OneCouplesAdventure Many thanks!
I think next year fjords on iona in april
Hi guys we're doing the same trip mid July just wondering if you think there's anything essential that you took with you or feel you should have taken !!! I've got lists of things that I keep going over !!
Seasick tablets lol. If you don't have the a drinks package we took on 28 cans of coke and some sweets. Just check the weather right up until you go for what clothes to pack. Take plenty of toiletries and meds as the shop on the ship is pants and the ones in norway are expensive. Any other questions don't hesitate to ask
Thanks all good to know !! Looking forward to it !
Is there any vegetarian options in the free food places to eat ?
Hi they do have Vegetarian dishes it says on the menu in the MDR and for the buffet theres wasn't a specific Vegetarian section it was more mixed in but there was signs there for Vegetarian dishes
Great video, never been on a cruise before so this was very informative. Do you know if you can book excursions on the IONA before the cruise and use the onboard spending money for this?
Thanks. You can book the excursions before you go but it doesn't use your onboard free money, same if you pre book any speciality restaurants you put a deposit down and that gets knocked off your bill. Its a pain you should be able use your free money for these things before your board
@@OneCouplesAdventure thanks for the answer 🙂
Do you have to book the free restaurants before you get on board or can you just turn up? This is our first cruise and not sure how it works. Thanks
No you just book them once you are on the ship on there "app". We have a videoon how the app works if you need any help
@@OneCouplesAdventure thanks. I have just found your channel today and going through your videos. We are travelling with a 18 month old so trying to see where in the room the travel cot will fit. Does the sofa bed move/push out the way for extra space.
I was on the Iona in December and totally missed the Olive Grove (the first one you reviewed)! Do you remember where on the ship it was located by any chance?
Or what it was near? Thanks :)
It was just around the corner from the quays where the fish and chips are. Its next to where the little puddings are by the tea and coffee machines
@@OneCouplesAdventure thanks!
One of the best reviews I've seen so far. We are looking to book our first cruise after 3 cancellations with a trip on Iona next year.
Are you committed cruisers now
Hi Derek and thank you so much, hope you make it on Iona next year after the 3 cruise cancellations. And are we committed to cruising ... erm let's just say keep an eye out on more videos in the near future 😁🤫
When you say it's free, is this not included in the price ?
Yes it is included in the price, just mean it is technically free when on board and no extra, is an easier way to explain for those who have never cruised before
