I can tell you that the X-M5 is amazing. It's not just a re-skin packaging, but has the latest algorithms for AF, etc. But most importantly, it's small. I am ok with the battery because the unique selling proposition of this camera is small small small along with its feature set and price. As for "plasticky" - the XM5 actually to my own surprise has a metal plate at the top. Never expected that at this price point.
I really like the R5, but I agree with the sentiment on RF glass. With that said, you can adapt older EF glass which is still amazing and you can get the adapter that has drop in filters, which is pretty cool, especially when shooting video.
Great and informative video! My biggest regret to-date is trading in my X-T5 for the X100VI. I guess the bug to own one finally bit me and I was sucked into the hype. I struggled to use the camera under birght daylight as the LCD screen is barely legible. I know I can set the shutter speed to auto with auto ISO. But my preference has always been manual and auto ISO.
I've got a basic baselayer set up with the grain and tone and gradation that works with all the dial sims. So it's a great feature for me. I just pick the sim I want, with the knowledge that the underpinnings will work with any of them. Dial is great.
Ha! The "cripple hammer"! LOL! I've been using an X-T3 for 4+ years now. I love and don't plan on getting rid of it any time soon! When I was shopping I tried out an X-S10 and thought it was a bit small in my hands. But, it might be a good option down the road with a good used deal! I love your two "cameras I wish I had" While it's not that big an issue for me just doing photography, Fuji really has to get that AF figured out. I just don't understand why they have such a problem. Steal an engineer from Sony!!
my dream camera would be the same ones as yours. Fujifilm full frame with Sony AF/Nikon AF. I own the Xpro-1 and H2, but don't use them as much as my Sony and Nikon cameras. Sad..sad...sad situation.
I refuse to buy a camera without an EVF! For me, I wish that Fuji would just prioritize auto focus over everything else, perhaps then they could achieve an auto focus that everybody would be happy with!
I still can't let go my xt20. It has everything i want except ibis and classic neg, but there are work around for that. I intend to use it until the end then i will buy either xt30II or XE4, probably T50.
As someone who was a canon shooter before I got into Fuji I agree with the nonsense on the RF mount. It’s the most frustrating part about canon. I still have my eos R and the 24-70 rf 2.8 but I don’t really want to invest 2k+ on other lenses for the system and wish they opened up to at least sigma for the full frame line.
The X-M5 is well built. Nothing to complain. i also own the x-h2s and i am really happy with the x-m5. :) Totally agree with you according the X100VI. I will keep my X100V, as the 26mp sensor is ideal for the lens. They need to update the lens for the X100VII,
I have 2 XT-3 cameras with the battery grips & will use them until they are no longer functioning. Not a fan of the XT-5 camera body, cheaper build quality & no option for a battery grip. Formerly a long time Canon user for about 40 years. Sold all of my extensive Canon kit due to the exorbitant RF glass prices, no third party lens options, etc. Original RF 70-200mm would not accept teleconverters, although the newest RF 70- 200 mm will do so. Impressed with the Canon R3 features but have no intention in buying one.
great post,,curious about your gear for fuji .you have 33 and 23 1.4 but a lenses.in past posts you mention you cant live with out is the 56..why don't you own this lens?do you just rent for portrait work? just thought to ask.
The R5 is already an amazing camera, the mkii looks even better. The closed lens system is not technically a camera fault, but the system's overall issue. I would love to have an X-S20 with dual card slots and Sony AF lol. I have mixed feelings about a full frame fuji. You would need to start spending in new lenses for the mount and I doubt they have the money and R&D to support 3 different sensor type cameras. In that sense at this point it's like having a full frame camera from another brand, minus the Fuji colors but post-process bros don't care about them.
Well, currently the price for the used X-T3 still hoovers between €800 to €1100, a bit more expensive than brand new X-M5, but yeah, I get the point & I agree...
I'm at a crossroads as my beloved x-t3 has died and Fujifillm quoted almost $900 to fix. I've had it since it was released and started with the x-t20 before that which I loved as well. I shot loads of event photography, sporting events and car shows and the only thing I ever wished for on the x-t3 was a bigger battery. Now with an 18 month running around at home I'm on the verge of picking up an A7cii to keep up with her. I'm tempted to pick up an x-t5 but I'm never impressed holding it knowing what my x-t3 feels like and not confident in the autofocus solely for keeping up with my kid. Regardless of what I buy I still have my 100V always in my bag:)
Hi @Danothemano81 . Curiously, how did your XT3 break down? Were you using it professionaly which received much abuse from shooting a lot of pictures per gig? Thinking if I'll be selling my minty X-T3 for an X-Pro2.
im still on XE4 no plans of letting go. have you use sigma 18-50? do you recommend it? how does it feel and image quality coming out it. thnx for video sir.

It seems like a lot of people like the Fujifilm XS20 camera.

I feel most people miss the reasoning behind the Film Sim dial... but totally agree with you on the battery.

Didn't expect z8 become camera your love🎉
I love the X-S20 too!

If you have to choose only one brand for your use (work and leisure) which one do you choose? Sony or Fuji? Why?

@@simon359 the best VF I ever seen was on the Hasselblad and Pentacon six MF cameras
The XS10 is my current vlog camera. I shoot 1080p never over 15 minutes of recording so I'm good with it.
@@jmtphotographymedia i love that camera!! I'm mad at myself that I sold it..
@CINEMAWORX I almost made that mistake too. But its my only camera with a flip screen so it made the cut and glad that I didn't sell it.
@@jmtphotographymedia 👌🏽
Still using XE2 with XF27mm V1 lens. I think the older Fujis are built better imo.

x100V is the peak of x100 line

Love my XT3.. Love My Nikon ZF 🔥🔥
the XT line has depreciated so much. if you really want a fuji, i'd go used
Keen to see thoughts on fujifilm 35mm f1.4, people seem to love it as a character lens
I’ve shared my thoughts on it several months ago on my channel

Reviewing product one has never seen or used (2:48 “zero experience”) seems like a waste of three minutes-

Get a used XT-3 for $900 or just fix it and save that cash for glass
I’ve really been looking at the Z6III, but I need to sell a lot of camera gear.. ugh 🤣
X-M5 woefully underrated man!

@@rykhen1459 quick answer, good for photo, for fujifilm not so good for video.
Sounds like Fujifilm half-baked that X100VI - not thought out well.
Its the complete opposite for me the XM-5 form factor and weight with the quality of images it produces makes this my favorite camera
have you tried the ZF?
The truth is that all named cameras in this video are way above the skills of people commenting about the cameras.
My guy looking for that hassy loaner 😅
I love my argent silver X-T3 ❤
I have both overhyped cameras you mentioned, lol
Doesn’t mean theyre bad 😆😂
