Wow, great tips for me. I just, finally, bought myself a KitchenAid at 66 years old. As I was forced to retire a bit early last April, I have too much energy for sitting. I began baking from scratch & even preparing meatloaf ingredients. I've gotta make my own butter & purchase a shredded and those hooks are so convenient. So happy you younger people have the privilege of owning this very important kitchen appliance. 👏 Thank you Rosemary
Thank you so kindly! I hope you enjoy making everything as you go. They are so helpful. I love my KitchenAid and know you will too. Thanks for the comment Rosemary.
I can’t even set mine up. It says you need a screwdriver of some type to tighten the beater in -/after 20 minutes I gave up and went back to my old hand beater. It’s way too difficult for me to use. I cannot get the beater to use for cookies and cake batter to even lock in - it’s a bummer because it’s super expensive so I’m going to just give it away.
Hi Stephanie, Just waiting to take delivery of my Kitchen Aid Tilt head 4.8L Artisan Mixer in Almond Cream. I am a retired 64 year old lady from Devon England. I have been cooking and baking all my life and have wanted a Kitchen Aid Mixer for years and years. I first fell in love with them whilst watching Nigella Lawson using hers on her cooking programmes on the TV. I am so going to be using your tip of the Command hook to neatly coil my electrical flex on the back of my mixer, so thank you for that. Oh the joy I'm going to have. Take care my dear and happy cooking and baking xx Mrs P
I have used that for so long now and it’s amazing how well it works. Congratulations on finally getting your Kitchen Aid too!! I wanted one for quite a long time. My mom always had us cooking with her and she never owned one. We would see it on cooking shows at my grandmas. Well, a few years into my marriage, before the kiddos, my husband bought me mine. Then a few years later we pitched in together to get the bigger one for my mom. It doesn’t tilt but it is heavier duty. Thanks for the comment. 😊
I don't use the Kitchenaid as often as you do, but after watching the video (Oct 2023) I will use your ideas and some expressed in the comments. I must get some of the attachments, especially the shredder.
Oh my! I just ordered my very first Kitchenaid Artisan and I’m so excited to try m first task….making butter!! At the price of butter these days with inflation through the roof, this is going to be a big saver for me. Thank you!! Canadian too, I really appreciate your tips, they’re stellar!
I took your idea and put the command hook on my Kitchen Aid for the cord...love that idea! And I did put the command hook for my attachments inside my cabinet door. Awesome ideas Stephanie ! 🙋🏻♀️♥️
I've got the shredder and love it. Started baking and the sifter attachment is a big help. It weighs and sifts right into the bowl. Easy clean up. Go to a fabric store and buy a piece of felt, cut it to size and place underneath your mixer. Let's it slide in and out easily. Can throw it in the wash if you spill anything. Love the command hook idea. Using it today.
Thank you so much for all the tips!! I love the felt idea! I will try that. I have some felt in my fabric drawers and will cut some out. That sifter sounds amazing! ❤️
May I suggest that you rinse the butter in ice cold water a few times to remove all traces of buttermilk. This will stop it going a bit rancid if left a week or so in the fridge. I make large batches and freeze - then use as required. Love my homemade butter. This is the reason I bought the Kitchenaid!!
Do you think it’s cheaper to make your own butter than buying it? Probably close in price to buy or to make. I’d love to make some though and I heard the same, to rinse it several times. Th you!
To a fellow Canadian, thank you so much for all the tips. They were all so very helpful, and very well explained. That’s the first thing I want to get now is the shredder. I used to have a Food Processor which shredded my cheese and veggies, but it broke, so this way I’ll have the attachment for my Kitchen Aid as well as the mixer part. Thanks again.
Thank you for this video. I have had my KA since 1997. I recently discovered they had the grater attachment, so I purchased one. I suffer from arthritis & this has been a "hand & fingers" saver for me. I hit the subscribe button, because I found your video very educational.
Thanks for the tips. Regardless of price, the pre-shredded cheese is tasteless; powdered cellulose is added to prevent the cheese from clumping. I'm finally going to buy the shredder attachment.
I'm a Brit and live in France, but am very partial to Crumbles of all sorts, so when I make one I use my KitchenAid and usually mix up about three times the amount I need. I freeze the rest for another day. I also always make shortcrust pastry in my KA, using the flat paddle, works wonderfully. Had mine for 18 years now and wouldn't be without it.
patricia tonge that sounds yummy! I make extra of almost all my recipes that I make in the KA. Pancakes are probably the one I do that the most with. Then I freeze it for another day! 😉
Great video, just bought my first kitchenaid at 67. Like the command strip idea for storing the cord. Liked the comment about using parchment paper to slide the appliance over the counter. They are pretty heavy.
awesome, thanks. I hate mixing meatloaf. I use the dough hook on very low, and mix to a minimum, , , over mixing makes a tough meatloaf. I was thinking about mounting a flat LED light underneath the motor head for better light when mixing batter.
Omg, Thank you so much for showing how many ways we can used the machine. I bought my 4 years ago and it is still in the box, never been used! After watch your video, now I'm going to start using it! Very excited and happy to learn from your video. 👍👍 Thumbs up for you, plus subscribed to your channel!😘♥️
This video was awesome! I just received a free kitchen aid from a commercial kitchen. I love baking and thought I would only use to make bread and other sweets but now I see I can use it for much more!
You are so inviting. I can imagine the man you chose for your mate didn't stand a chance. 😇 I could also imagine being part of a lunch "party" [common way south of the border] hearing your wisdom born of experience, cheerfully shared. Some folks are just better around the kitchen than others, and you are definitely one of the best. EXCELLENT VIDEO. Thank you !
That was such an encouragement to me. Over the years you get the good and the bad comments, but this has to be one of the most encouraging I’ve had. I always look at the bad comments as either instructive or from people who can’t find anything nice to say. But I know I’m not perfect and try to keep a level head on that. Thank you again for the extremely sweet comments!
I love my shredder attachment and the paddle attachment with the scraper. I keep my mixer on a place mat so it's a little bit easier for me to move around my counter.
My dh bought me a lot of attachments. I highly recommend the pasta roller and the food processor with dicer kit. The ravioli maker, not so much. I prefer to make ravioli by hand. That command hook tip is pure genius!
Thank you! How have you been loving your Kitchen-aid? I’ve had mine for years and yet it’s the first and sometimes the only thing I go to in my cooking. I’m always thinking, I need another bowl because sometimes I have more then one thing to mix in a recipe. I could do it by hand but the mixer is so much better and faster!
We were missionaries in Brazil for 14 years and used our kitchenaid a lot too! Mostly making bread but also grinding meat. One time ground 20kg in one sitting from a cow my uncle butchered. The mixer is a workhorse and handled it well. We left the mixer in Brazil last year with another missionary and its still going strong
Jeyson Braun wow! 14 years as a missionary is amazing. I love hearing that. My kitchenaid is a machine that I wouldn’t do without now that I own one. I’ve never done meat, but would love to.
@@martinmade08 yes, I was a pilot there and flew missionaries into the Amazon jungle. We lived in a city and flew out to the jungle. However, we took a Kitchenaid to a Brazilian missionary family out in the jungle who used it with solar panels. A nice tool that made life a tiny bit easier for them in a harsh living situation but of course, it's all worth it to glorify God.
Jeyson Braun that’s great to hear! I have family that are missionaries and the things they give up to share Gods love with people who wouldn’t otherwise receive it is huge. But they know they are where God wants them and it’s for His glory like you said!
Rachel McFeters I’m a pastors kid. I have a great love and respect for missionaries. They do so much and go through so much. I also have family that’s missionaries as well. ❤️
Thanks for your tips! I loved the one about cord management on the back of your kitchen aid. I have the same problem with that pesky cord and now I know what I can do to fix the problem. I found your channel while looking for ways to use the shredder attachment to shred vegetables. thanks for sharing your ideas! Blessings to you and your family, Kathy
Hi, you can use parchment paper under your mixer to help slide it on the countertop. I trace the shape of the base to make a perfect size for the KitchenAid. If you want to spend the big bucks you can buy the felt or the plastic mat at the dollars store, lol😊. I actually have some felt in my sewing room, but I am too lazy to look for it. I would rather make cake.
Fyi, they have made new beaters that are stainless so that you no longer have the issue of the white coming off your beaters as shown in your video. The older beaters have been found to have lead so they now use stainless. Also, I purchased small round furniture sliders and placed them under my mixer so that I can slide it more easily when moving it on my counter. (Mine sits in the corner just like yours)
Thank you 🙏🏽 for sharing! My old (inherited & probably 40 yrs old) KitchenAid’s beater bar has the enamel seriously coming off & when I tried to order a new one ☝🏼 it turns out they no longer make them so had to order an entirely new KitchenAid! Like you, I use this appliance frequently (although we no longer do meats) and so the new one is on the way! Considering the attachments (a sheet cutter for vegan lasagna , etc...the pasta 🍝 maker...ice cream maker (but it’s a LOT to store, ya know?) and now the shredder. That said, one appliance can do everything (kind of like my Vitamix , also kept on the counter for daily use). The command strips is GENIUS & I’ll be ordering to use for other kitchen storage appliances like my iPots. Grateful for you in my day. ❤️
Ziggy3339 thank you so much for your sweet comment! Sorry to hear you had to buy a new KA. I have heard and don’t know at all if it’s true, that the new KA don’t last as long. 🤷🏼♀️ I’ve looked for blades without covers for mine and I can find them for the newer KA. I found off brand blades as well with no cover on it. I do hope the new one gets there soon and works great for you. The attachments are one of those things where you have to decide, will it get used, do I have room, and how much will it be used. I don’t have the room for all the stuff, so I had to decide what’s useful to me. I don’t like a lot of clutter on my counters as well. I have a lot of counter stuff in my cabinets. There are just some things you can’t do that with. Thank you so much for the comment, it’s great to hear from you. 😀
Martinmade To all architects: Kitchen ALL need walk in pantries with shelves, a window and roll out carts to carry heavy appliances to & fro. We who prepare food and meals all “get” this concept. Whether it’s a small or large home, the heart ❤️ I’d the kitchen. Honor it with space. Also, the average woman is 5’4” in the United States. Not 6’4”, so please, get creative & accommodate. Thank you 🙏🏽
You are welcome! I have recipes that I need heavy whipping cream for and have left over all the time. So unless I have another recipe, that is for sure the best way to use it before it goes bad.
Wow! Shredded cheese? I want one now forsure! I’ve been looking and thinking about getting a mixer but the cheese thing sold me! I know that probably sounds silly but we eat a lot of cheese! 😉 thanks for your video!
outstanding tips! I didn't know about the shredder attachment. What a time saver. I freeze the big blocks but now ai am going to get the shredder to save my hands from the box grader..Thanks!
Great tips! Makes me have a better understanding and the possible uses of my machine. Love the beaters on the inside of the cabinet and you opened my eyes to getting different attachments. Now I'll make homemade butter!
I remember that shredder was once mounted on the counter. My aunt had one. You had to turn it by hand. 60 years later we inherited one. I think it is called King Kutter. They have them on e-bay. That shredder has about 6 attachments. There is no plastic on the hand shredder. I even purchased another one brand new for $ 40. What a bargin. We just got a Kitchen Aid stand mixer. Our old Hamilton Beach finally died after 42 years.
Thank you for your kindness and thoughtful words. Also, thank you for responding. I love hearing from people on here. They are from all over and it’s nice to hear from those who have the opportunity to watch it. ❤️
Wow! Great info! My hubby loves to snack on shredded cheese and we usually buy it pre-shredded. If I were to purchase block cheese and shred it myself, how do I store the shredded cheese without it sticking together?
Honestly, amazing video where you show how to make butter, shredded chicken and cheese. I was watching another video on butter that was like 10min long and here you show how to make it in like a min.
Brilliant loved the tip for the extra beaters and my cord I just wrap it around the middle and leave just enough to plug it in but I always have to take it out and put it back so I’m going to adopt your idea.
Yay!!!! That is so exiting. I can still remember the Christmas I got mine. I was beyond excited. I’m sure you are over the moon excited about that. 😀 I’m glad I was able to be a help. Enjoy your Christmas gift! Also, Merry Christmas to you too!!!
Just got my kitchen aid and I'm still shaking with excitement lol, now that I see how fast that cheeze grater is it's deff on my list to get NXT. Thnx so much for the great cord tip
You are very welcome!! I’m so glad you were able to find the cord tip helpful. I would definitely ask for a cheese grater next, though I have heard they changed the design. Who knows maybe they made them even better??🤷🏼♀️😉
Thank you. Never even thought about butter... I wonder why KA changed the shredder? I've been hesitant to purchase those accessories that are plastic, hang off the edge and require pushing down on it.. yours looks pretty sturdy and large, not sure about the new ones
Thanks, they have grinders and sauage stuffers also, great home made hamber and sauage ,pasta presses, many other things as well, kitcher aid is the do all kitchen applance.
Thank you, I love posting scriptures because they mean so much to me and bring comfort and peace in my life. They just show so much of what God has done for me in my life. Thank you so much for watching.
Great video. Short and sweet and to the point! I noticed that one of your beaters has chipped vinyl. So does mine and it worries me as more chips are appearing. The chat at Kitchen Aid wanted to charge me before answering my concerns. Any suggestions anyone?
My mom bought me a different brand of blades that were a type of plastic with silicone edges. It worked great, but then eventually under pressure of whatever food goes in there, it does break. I have seen that they are making them without the coding on it, but I don’t have those yet. Honestly, just wanting money to answering concerns is not what I would call good business. I would probably go to a department in which I can complain, and get a hold of higher ups. The higher up the chain, you can get the more likely they will send you a brand new product because they want to good name. The people on the phones or behind the computer are not people that absolutely care about this company. Some might but most probably don’t, because it’s a job. I hope that helps, and I hope you can get some answers. If you do, please let me know!
I like your idea about putting the hook on the back of the mixer. I 'm always shoving the cord behind its and it takes the fun out of using the mixer. Be sure and unplug your mixer whenever you make changes on it. If you accidentally hit a button on it, the mixer could start-up and you could get hurt.
thank you for the KA tutorial. I was craving butter cookies and pulled out my mixer, can't remember the last time I used it. When I had to watch a video on how to remove the beater I saw your video. Wondering if using creme to make butter is cheaper than buying butter, I use a lot of butter! I may experiment with the costs on this. Also the shredded chicken is great. I noticed your chicken was already kinda shredded, just in bigger chunks, will I get good results starting with larger pieces of chicken? And the cheese shredder, OMG, I MUST get one! Confession... I usually buy shredded cheese instead of block because I'm lazy, but this will save a lot of money!
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! As far as making butter being cheaper I’m not all that sure. We normally use cream for different recipes and have leftover in the fridge. So instead of it going bad, I use it up and make butter. I’m sure it comes close depending on where you live. We live in Canada so 2 cups of butter cost five dollars, and I can make about the same amount for about five dollars. The chicken shreds just fine whether it’s falling apart or not, it really depends on how you cook the chicken. If you boil it to death it’s going to be falling apart anyways. The cheese shredder, I will never look back on shredding my own cheese. They do you still have the shredder, but they have a new design to the KitchenAid shredder. It goes in the top and has a plunger.
@@ruthbomback7245 There are patterns available on Etsy. But there are also several videos on TH-cam. I just searched for stand mixer cover pattern and I found several.
There is also a wheat grinder for this mixer that I picked up just in case. I still have my mixer from the 80’s. Used it alot. Still looks and works great. I have the larger model because I make bread and cookie dough. The bigger bowl is nice. Kitchenaid makes a nice food processor/chopper which I just treated myself to because I am big into canning. chopping onions and bell peppers takes way too long to do for big canning projects. This will be a game changer. Kitchenaid’s little hand mixer is the bomb for shredding chicken, making frosting as well as so many other quick food prep tasks. Very easy clean up.
Thanks so much!! My mom has the wheat grinder. I want the bigger kitchenaid as well. I make bread and doughs a lot and it would be much easier on that machine. I will have to look into the food processor/chopper. I can too and that truly takes the longest!!
This video is awesome! I don’t have a kitchen aid mixer yet but I really would like to have one. That cheese shredder saves you major time I’m sure! What a great idea. Shredding cheese by hand is a real drag haha.
Makeup & Medicine When I lived in the states, we were able to buy pre-shredded cheese for cheaper than the blocks. But now that I am living in Canada the blocks of cheese are so much cheaper than the shredded. And for sure shredding them by hand is a pain!
Thank you for making my life easier. I’m a single Dad and am trying to learn to make my house a home.
You are very welcome. It’s hard to do that even with a spouse, let alone single!

Wow! Great job - great tips! Did not know you could do all that! Keep making great videos like this!
Thank you! I just purchased my first stand mixer and I was concerned about the storage of the attachments, great ideas and tips!
You will enjoy having a stand mixer if you love to cook. I wouldn’t go back to the hand mixer.
Thank you 🙏🏽
Amazing!!! I learned something new every day. My first time ever mixer cannot wait to start buying extra pieces for it
Enjoy!
Absolutely love your tricks. The butter is a game changer for me. Thank you
You are welcome! I have recipes that I need heavy whipping cream for and have left over all the time. So unless I have another recipe, that is for sure the best way to use it before it goes bad.
I've just bought my kitchen aid, thanks so much for your tips. Greetings from Ecuador 😍. I'll try some of your idezs6!!
You are very welcome and greetings from Canada to Ecuador! Thanks for the comment! ❤️
Great Tips! Just received my first Kitchenaid mixer and so excited to use it.
Elizabeth Gonzalez that’s great!!! Enjoy it! I know I have loved mine. ❤️
Thanks for the hook hack...I put you on pause and immediately did it...much much better😄😊
Hahaha!!! You are so welcome!! I absolutely love mine. It’s so neat and clean and off of everything. ❤️
@@martinmade08 I also put hooks for my attachments...thanks so much
You are so welcome! ❤️ It’s so much easier for me. I hope you find them as helpful too. 😊
I freeze the big blocks but now ai am going to get the shredder to save my hands from the box grader..Thanks!
not a problem!!
If you freeze your cheese you can just crumble it it doesn't have to be shredded, bonus of freezing it.
Great! Big thanks from the Sierra Foothills in northern California.
Your welcome! Welcome!
Fantastic, I've learnt so much from you. Anne
That shredder has about 6
attachments. There is no plastic on the hand shredder. I even purchased another one brand new for $ 40. What a bargin.
We just got a Kitchen Aid stand mixer. Our old Hamilton Beach finally died after 42 years.
Will defo get the grating attachment.
Wow. Sad times in the world. Your ideas and demeanor are so refreshing. Regards to civilized Canada
Thank you so kindly for your compliments. I’m so glad I have been able to encourage you. 🙂
Great tips, I also finally got a kitchenaid for Christmas.
Congratulations!! That’s so exciting!
I love your entire video, can you make more pls??
I would love to!! Thanks for your input. Do you like the tips and tricks for the kitchenaid or for other things?
Excellent. I subscribed. I just purchased a Artisan kitchen Aid.
LOVE your sweet demeanor and presentation!
Thank you for your kindness and thoughtful words. Also, thank you for responding. I love hearing from people on here. They are from all over and it’s nice to hear from those who have the opportunity to watch it. ❤️
Like the cord storage., great video...
Thanks for the tips , God bless you & yours 🙏🏻❤️
Thank you so much! May God bless you as well.
🙂 Merci pour votre vidéo. Je prends vos bonnes idées !
Je vous souhaite une bonne journée.
Merci beaucoup pour votre doux commentaire! J’espère que ces conseils fonctionnent pour vous. Que Dieu vous bénisse!
Great Ideas and than you for the video!
Wow! Great info! My hubby loves to snack on shredded cheese and we usually buy it pre-shredded. If I were to purchase block cheese and shred it myself, how do I store the shredded cheese without it sticking together?
great tips sweetie. thanks bunches
I loved your tips, very useful and quite realistic, thanks for sharing!!!!
That’s great! I’m glad I could help. Hope it helps you as much as it helps me. 🙂
Thank you for the tips. Especially the command strips tips. 😃
Thank you!!! Hope everything helps. ❤️
Awesome thanks! We just wentto Canada for the 1st time!
It is so beautiful here! Where were you? East coast? West coast? Ontario, Quebec area?
I just enjoyed watching you and your joy in sharing! Thank you!!
Thank you for the sweet comment!
Santa just delivered me one a couple of days early so this was so very helpful! Merry Christmas.
Yay!!!! That is so exiting. I can still remember the Christmas I got mine. I was beyond excited. I’m sure you are over the moon excited about that. 😀 I’m glad I was able to be a help. Enjoy your Christmas gift! Also, Merry Christmas to you too!!!
me too!
Thank you! Great tips!
Thanks for posting.
Thank you, I love posting scriptures because they mean so much to me and bring comfort and peace in my life. They just show so much of what God has done for me in my life.
Thank you so much for watching.
Oh I am sold now!! Gonna get me one! I have been wanting one for a long time! tysm :)
Great tips! Thank you
Thank you so much!!
thank you for the KA tutorial.
I bought a cover for mine off etsy and it had a pocket! I store my beater attachments in the pocket along with my manual.
That’s cool! I hadn’t seen anything like that.
is there a pattern available so I can sew a cover for my machine
@@ruthbomback7245 There are patterns available on Etsy. But there are also several videos on TH-cam. I just searched for stand mixer cover pattern and I found several.
lhiannon82 I bought a cover, too...I love it!
I love this!! Definitely looking up a cover asap!
Excellent! Thank you a lo!
I am 66 also and just retired. Treated myself to a kitchen aid and so looking forward to making things with it.
@@debbiestott3651 it is so much fun! Have a great time with it. There’s so many things you can do.
cool idea. I'll try it my self, and tell my cousin, who I sold one of my Red ones to. She'll love it!!
Great ideas and wonderful presentation. Canadian ingenuity, eh?
Thanks! I hope you are able to use them. Yes! Canadian ingenuity. ❤️
It is amazing the things yu are doing
Thank you! I try to do a variety that’s not too far from homemaking and homemade!! ❤️
@@martinmade08 - Store-bought shredded cheese has chemical junk mixed in to keep the shredded pieces from sticking together.
Thank you, great tips
Thank you!
