I remember a time where I love the PSP and never realized it was 480x272 because all I care about was gaming and having fun. Now looking up for higher resolution and settings seems to be a bigger factor when deciding if we are going to have fun or not.
The PSP was very powerful for it's time and people used to clown the DS for having weaker hardware.

Yup the GEEK is the best one IMO, with a 800p screen, since its screen is small, and you want native resolution. It's amazing. I will buy one one day.
I hate 800p so no thanks. I'll buy the 1200p screen and play at 900p-1080p
@GHOST LEGIT what matters more is the quality of the display, the 800p is fine and pretty much identical to the steam decks screen, but the 1200p is excellent competing with the MacBook in color quality.
@colegillgrass3373 the steam deck screen is bad. That's why I barely use it. I can't stand the grainy 720p-800p screen. Rather just play at 900p or 1080p
Yeah I don't understand wanting a high res screen on these all devices. It's just as useless to me as with smartphones.
However I do accept the ones that offer a proportionate appropriate screen, like a 1600p screen displaying 800p wouldn't look weird like a 1200p screen displaying 800p.
Thanks for pointing out how similar they really are especially the screen trick Ayaneo is trying to pull. Since the Geek is the latest model I might go for that version and hope they fix a majority of the issues the Ayaneo 2 has.
For more context about the upcoming models. They have 3 variants of the air plus, which do not have an oled screen. 2 of them are very low spec options for cheap but premium emulation, with the third being a 6800u. They also have the pocket air, which does use the same 5.5in oled screen of the air and air pro but it's a android handheld. Then at the end of the year is going to be the next 2.
Then next year what we know of is the slide, a keyboard device with a sliding screen that can tilt out. The flip, a clamshell device like a DS. And the KUN which is an ultra large handheld with an 8 inch screen.

Companies never seem to learn the less is more lesson. Not less of a particular product but fewer options.
It's the one thing I like about consoles it keeps it very basic. And when there's variations it's like an OLED screen a little more power etc.
All I know is this really gets me excited for an actual switch successor every time I hear about one of these. All they have to do is double down or what they've done and make it stronger.

For price and performance, you can’t beat the Steam Deck. I friggin love mine. Yeah the screen could be better, but it’s not that big of a deal. The Ayaneo 2 is what, $1000? Yeah ok, my Steam Deck was $400 and it’s a beast.

I am waiting for them to show the Aya Neo Next II about which they were saying it will have a dgpu. How they will do it will be interesting and a real evolution in the gaming handheld scene. I just wish someone more mainstream companies do it. Nothing bad about Aya though except that they are just oversaturating the market. The quality of the product is great.
I agree with Aya oversaturating the market. Competition is good, but theres way too many skus from them coming out.
I can't imagine it being good for handheld mode without sacrificing too much battery, but it would be real handy for a stationary experience like on the charger or on an external display. Especially if with FSR.
The battery will be enough to turn on and immediately turn back off.....

Consider the fact that modders have made wii and gamecube into handhelds which had much more complex internals to work with and these people at Aya Neo are not hobbyists and casuals. These are professional engineers and have a more modern hardware to work from grounds up. The least battery life which you can expect is 2 hours at low power levels.
@@ismaeltorres3219 I can agree the battery life not being great but even if it can work like Switch having low resolution and performance without charging and then considerably more powerful when plugged in while charging I would say it would be enough.

I'm kind of in shock Aya is becoming more of a contender, I thought for sure they'd be "okay let's try to do our own Deck" and then it's so expensive no one gets it, but...maybe the fact they have so many models means they do have the money to throw around.
And they can consistently put out a better performing device as well. It's just...well...once they work out that price, they can be on Steam's level.
No this is common for these Chinese companies to oversaturated their own market with multiple portable PC consoles. Just look at GPD
Well this aged badly because the prices they announced yesterday is higher in price than it was originally.
I haven't had any problems with fingerprints on mine, but I have the Ayaneo 2 B.Duck.
Also, careful with that 800p screen, rumor has it that it's the same as the old Ayaneo Next and it's not a good screen. It's still slightly better than the Steam Deck's terrible screen, but the 1200p is so much better because of the color, contrast ratio, etc. I run a lot of the AA/AAA style games at 800p on my Ayaneo 2 and it looks great!
I want one of these Ayaneo handhelds so bad but the price is out of my range for now as a broke student lol, eventually tho!! Very cool systems

If I’m running new or modern triple A titles and want them at higher settings especially, I’m not running them on a handheld. Which makes the Steam Deck a much better option for someone like me. I can play, often maxed out, indie and triple A titles from last gen and below basically. Which is exactly what I want it for. Especially if I want decent battery life at that. Anything new I’m running on my main rig. And given how fast these things get upgraded with newer versions, instead of paying 800 to 1200 bucks for a handheld that’s going to be obsolete in a year or two, or at least have a successor, I can just spend 400 bucks, have a quality handheld experience, use it as a backup and mobile system, and then upgrade again whenever the SD2 releases or Aya lowers their pricing. One or the other. Best of all options for me anyway.
For the price of some of these handhelds you could get a Steam Deck, a Series S or X, and a PS5 for the same price. A 1000 or 1500 dollar handheld makes no sense to me.

I completely agree that the Ayaneo Geek should just have the 800p. Imagine the performance and battery life benefits it’ll give with that screen. I think the Ayaneo Geek 800p will be their best seller model.

I have the 800p Geek model
On my phone I can 100% tell the difference between 720p to 1080p or even 1440p. However this is dependent on the game your going to play. If your a heavy fps player and is going to be playing games like fortnite or cod go for the higher resolution device so you can see enemies at a further distance and get the tags u need to win. Now if your playing more casual games like racing or something like minecraft the lower resolution is more than enough just pick the one u need but just know the lower resolution is more than enough for casual regardless of game
I looked on the website but there is so many options I wouldn’t know which one to go for the steam deck makes it so much easier. Gonna try to get a steak deck when I get my taxes lol
The best value is to get the 64gb steam deck and replace the 64gb drive for a 512gb or higher SSD. 512gb 2230 ssds are about 55$ on ebay.
I look forward to how much DKoldies will be selling these for, in garbage condition, in 2044.

At least, Valve learned their lessons with the Steam machines when they were working on the Steam Deck.
I'm not sure why Ayaneo has to not only reveal all the devices that they have planned for the following year, but to also release said devices for the coming months.

I also still think the SD is the best option. Especially for the price. I got the 64gb version and bought a 512gb sd card and a 512 ssd and it still was less than $500. Such a great deal.

But I don't have to worry about FOMO when it comes to slightly more powerful or slightly better optimized iterations coming out 6-12 months from now like it's an iphone or something. I have a pc for upgrading. I bought it as a generational laptop replacement.

Awesome for the Neo but at the end of the day when Nintendo does release their next system it will not go all out on powerful graphics to compete with the other boys so don't be surprised.

Aya Neo REALLY needs to get their marketing and product together. Their needs to be somebody at the company asking, does this make sense? Does it make sense to release the Aya Neo Geek for $100 less as an alternative to a $1k handheld? No because $900 and $1,000 is the same to most people.
More so does it make sense to even buy the Aya Neo 2 for 1k, when there's ALREADY talks of a better product coming soon?
Imagine if all the Pokemon games where released within 2 years, just back to back to back; eventually it would just be one huge jumble of mons and generations wouldn't even matter. The whole point is to create a product that will last a couple of years, not a couple of products every year.

the only reason these intergrated graphics are so good is because low end gpus are so poor, you could easily get a cpu that had graphics that could match a ps3 in 2014 and 2015 infact i was playing ps3 games like saints row free on my 2012 300 pounds amd a8 laptop
