Attention please. Pedigree no 3 can be both x-linked recessive or autosomal recessive.. Very important to look again and again .. Both possibilities are applicable..
Because both father and mother are affected in the second generation, it is hard to discern whether the sons received the trait from mom or dad therefore allowing both autosomal recessive and x linked to be possible

Thank you so much sirr😍😍 from the past 3 -4 days I'm trying to understand pedigree but now at the time only I can understand the concept clearly with some golden rules .Now I can gain some extra marks in exam 😉
For the third question, from the diagram you can deduce that it's either x-linked recessive or autosomal recessive. It's unsure which one of the two is correct though, need more information. Additionally, for the fourth question, it doesn't have to be x-dominant, there're other inheritance patterns that fit that pattern...
i spent a day a understanding my professors lecture about pedigree bcoz its included in my exam and i cant really understand it. and i watched your tutorial for the last minute, saw your vid and glad that u explain it well. now i can answer my exam later confidently. thank u so much. keep up the good work sir and keep safe. more power 💪🙌
Practice pedigree #2 and #3, I see it as being "Autosomal R" & "X-linked recessive"... The rules about skipping generation and male to female ratio don't entirely eliminate x-linked. those rules are not always reliable. Care to explain?
Thank you so much sir 😊...... You explained it very well... But I didn't understand last two pedigree charts According to me i think 2nd last is X-linked ressesive And the last one
Sir i have a question: what is the purpose behind checking whether an autosome linked disorder is dominant or recessive using pedigree analysis? Is the treatment of autosome linked dominant disorder and autosome linked recessive disorder different?
The right side of the third pedigree does not help elucidate autosomal recessive vs X-linked recessive. Granted, with two affected females in the same family from different bloodlines, it is probably more likely to be AR inheritance. We would need prevalence to weigh this speculation. However, using binomial statistics and the pedigree at hand, it is statistically speaking more likely X-linked recessive inheritance. Probability of getting the outcome of individuals 4,5,6,7 for AR = 0.09375 Probability of getting the outcome of individuals 4,5,6,7 for XR = 0.37500 Probability of getting the outcome of individuals 9,10,11,12 for AR = 0.140625 Probability of getting the outcome of individuals 9,10,11,12 for XR = 0.187500 This example was poor as it does not offer new students a concrete way to identify an inheritance pattern. Best of luck!
Shomu sir today I have answered all question except one from pedigree .It is all because of you.U r really god of biology. No words to say about u.soulful thanks from tamilnadu
In pedigree 3 in case of affected father do not pass traits to their son. But sons can be affected by affected female.. But affected sons can come from affected mother, and affected female can come from affected father... Why not x linked recessive or dominant...
Yaa it's an nice outlook we can lay emphasis on x linked dominant if we see in the chart the ratio of transfer of disease from moter to son is more than father to daughter so it can be a x linked dominant
You made a mistake in the example showed in the 17th minute of the video. The disease can be X linked recessive as the rule of 'no male transmission' is overruled when there is an affected mother
Sir with fue respect I want to know if the third problem solved is really autosomal recessive... Since in second generation the each of parents are coming from another family by considering that we can say that it's an x linked recessive trait. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you
You have explained it well, but i think that you should have written genotypes for each person. In that way we could see if we did the excercises well (3. and.4. exp). :)
Actually for that third question , mother can be a carrier right ? So theres also a chance that the male got affected like wise..if a carrier mother is croseed with unaffected male ,then theres of course a chance for male progeny getting affected right ?! So maybe it can be both autosomal recessive or X linked recessive .
ThankYou! For this helping video ❤i didn't understand ever about these conditions of pedigree, but i must say after i saw this i can easily solve my all questions related to these four traits... 🌸🌸✨✨✨
I THINK THE PEDIGREE AT 14:22 CAN ALSO BE EXPLAINED BY X-LINKED RECESSIVE DISEASE. WORKING OUT THE GENOTYPES MAKES IT LOOK LIKE A COMPLETELY PLAUSIBLE ANSWER. PLEASE DO CONSIDER IT ONCE AND I MAY BE WRONG BUT COULD YOU PLEASE EXPLAIN, ITS REALLY CONFUSING ME
Explanation is good Sir. Thank you. A small query Sir, "Among 1,5 and 7 Criss-Cross inheritance is observed. At 4 and 9 also depicting criss-cross inheritance. Why can't it be X-linked Sir? Please clarify
Sir last wale quastion me outsider ko Carrer assume karna pad raha h......jo galat h.... Outsider ko humesha healdy male he manna padaga..... So x link ressesive padigree hogi last wale quastion me
15:05, I don't understand why it would be a form of dominance. If both the parents were reccessive, then by crossing rr x rr, all the progeny are affected. Can someone please explain to me why it is a form of dominance?
You are the first person who explain logic behind the topic

Hey
Attention please.
Pedigree no 3 can be both x-linked recessive or autosomal recessive..
Very important to look again and again ..
Both possibilities are applicable..
Yes there is no any probability of x linked pass father to son but there is also a probability is that trait comes from mother...
At 15:55, Shomu says that, in X-linked recessive pedigrees, the trait NEVER transfers from father to son.
Both can apply here
@@KJKP but if both parents are affected, then the daughter is getting it from the affected father and the son is getting it from affected mother.
Because both father and mother are affected in the second generation, it is hard to discern whether the sons received the trait from mom or dad therefore allowing both autosomal recessive and x linked to be possible

Ig the #2 is X-Linked Recessive
Thank you very much sir, the way you teach the concepts is amazing
Problem #4 can be autosomal dominant. I think Shomu’s “golden rules” might be more like strong suggestions with frequent exceptions.
I agree
Yes the 1st option is the correct BCOZ we have to take the left side also in our analysis 👍
2023 and this video is helping me. Shout out to You

Q 3. can be both Autosomal recessive and X-linked recessive.
yes indeed
in the last example, could u not also say that it could also be due to an autosomal recessive condition? i mapped it out and it seems to work.
It can never be recessive cuz its seen in all generations
The explanation was excellent and worth seeing.

Sir, when looking at individual 7&8, could we say it's autosomal dominant because the trait didn't skip the generation?
Number 2 looks more like a case of Autosomal Dominant with reduced penetrance?
Thank you so much
But Still need some practice 😊 because it's a bit tricky and tough
Yes
