I actually never had the basics or any kind of info about Pedigree Analysis after spending a few minutes on your irreplaceable video I understood all the modes. Thank you so muchh💌
Thank you for explaining the correct answer AND explaining why the wrong answer choices are wrong. Made it so much easier to understand. Again, thank you so much !!! 😊
Thank you so much. This is helping me finish my biology lab. I had so much trouble understanding this, but I've got it now thank you for going in to such detail.
This was so good mam it's been five year now but seriously the seed you 've sown then has grown into a big tree and has been bearing a lot of fruits till today !!! And it's so nutritious!!
my biology final that my college acceptance depends on is in 10 days, and I come back to this video everytime i revise this pedigree subject, you're literally so amazing thank u so much for ur great teaching
Great video, thanks! In the first example (autosomal recessive), how do you know that person 2 in generation I has the genotype "Rr"? Isn't it also possible that the genotype is "RR" (homozygous)?
Thank you so much. Very helpful. X linked pedigree tables: Could you clarify do you always have Big letter and small letter or can you have no letter and recessive be a small letter. Meaning making a legend to be clear. X equal normal, X with small letter means the disease.
I am confused at 13:28. Women are affected. So why is it not a Y linked pedigree? I thought males always pass their affected condition to their daughters
A Y linked disorder is associated with genes located on the Y chromosome. Males pass their Y chromosome on to their male offspring, and they pass their X chromosome onto their female offspring. Because the female offspring do not receive the Y chromosome, they cannot have a Y-linked disorder. As such, in a pedigree in which females are affected, you can automatically determine that the disorder is not Y-ljnked. The only time you can determine that a disorder is Y linked is when all male offspring from an affected father are also affected.
