This video was brilliant in helping me understand pedigree charts. I failed my last exam due to these charts and now i finally understand them. Thank you for explaining it so well.
I thought I had a pretty good grasp of the inheritance patterns, but this video took my understanding to another level. I gained more clarity from your video, and I thank you very much for your help! 💐
1:53 Step 2 is completely wrong. Let's say this is an X-linked recessive trait. Then 2nd generation father would be xY, and mother could be a carrier with Xx. Male offspring can receive mother's recessive allele to get xY as well. And often the question will not tell you which members are carriers and instead just show them as unaffected.
I'm confused I thought you said if theres IS man to man transmission that means its autosomal, for some pedigrees you say " no man to man transmission so it can be autosomal".
Thank you for this! But i have a Q, if you dont mind. At 7:45 you mentioned it is autosomal recessive. It is recessive because theres skipping, i understand. But also, there is no male to male transmission, so shouldnt it be x linked recessive?
Actually easily skipping occurs absolutely recessive and no male to male transmission but females and males are affected equally so autosomal if only males are affected but no females then it's x linked
Y linked is only males are affected and no skipping occurs buttttt..... autosomal recessive is skipping occurs and man to man or father to son inheritance occurs and male and female are affected evenly.......(read twice and more to understand)thank you 😁
Anatomy Classes by Dr. Sushant Thanks 🙏 Easiest way to deferential between Sex linked dominant and autosomal dominant? If most male not all are infected it’s sex linked not y linked
Very clear and I appreciate your effort. Sure, I agree voice mic could be better, but that's not the point of your video...very good teaching. Thank you :)
Thanks for watching my educational tutorial completely and in depth. Regarding your question..to be autosomal recessive...carrier should be present. But this pedigree no carrier state is present. Therefore it is autosomal dominant. I think this might clear your doubt. If u still have some more query please fill free to ask. Thank u again.
Anatomy Classes by Dr. Sushant your examples do not illustrate carrier status anyway. So this is left to interpretation. Therefore you cannot rule out recessive?

Y linked is only males are affected and no skipping occurs buttttt..... autosomal recessive is skipping occurs and man to man or father to son inheritance occurs and male and female are affected evenly.......(read twice and more to understand)thank you 😁
Very nicely explained

Sir one doubt is there..
