I couldn't imagine being more hype to Rebirth than I was for Remake in 2019...but this trailer changed that. First PS5 game to be on 2 discs also, this game is gonna be so massive!

@qlcrane8019 vast majority of the cutscenes in Remake are rendered in engine, in realtime, with in game assets, so they dont actually take up anywhere near as much space as pre-rendered CG. There are a few actual CG cutscenes in Remake, like the opening credits and the plate fall. Usually you can tell which is which, as the character facial models look significantly different. For example, the Bugenhagen scene in this trailer looks like pre rendered CG, but the scene at the inn in Kalm is defintely in-engine. Personally I think the characters look better in-engine, kinda wild that video game graphics are reaching that point now
I'll call it now, I can see the game ending when the Weapons are released, as a cliffhanger to make people come back for the final part. Any doubts I had about Rebirth were quickly removed with that trailer, I'm really looking forward to it.
Oh yeah definitely, something before the catastrophe that is about to hit the planet like weapons would be good.

Still, 2 Discs on the PS5? Yeah, literally the developers are going full send into expanding this portion of the story and heck we get to square off against Elena for once (Never fought her in the original, just usually see her flub up as comedic relief.) and it's really hinting at Tifa being the heroine in danger much more now than ever especially when we review the differences between the ENG and JPN Trailers (Footage and Dialogue) but man, we at least got a timeframe to prepare for.

@@Arngrim. More I think, the more I believe you can skip her, because in the 100% run that fight is necessary to get W-Item, and if you don't fight them you can't get that materia because it's behind the Turks.

That Jenova fight wasn't inside a ship's cargo hold. Unless they made some drastic changes Rebirth might go up to the temple of the ancients.
People are saying that's Shrinas propaganda but I agree with those that think that's Zack's timeline because they mentioned the tornado which I think are the whispers at the end of the game.
im so hyped for this. this game is still at the least 9 months away so we could even potentially get some more trailers in the future for this amazing game as well.
These remakes triggered me to play the orignial again. It is like diablo 4 hype- I wanna play the first original game. It only gets cheezier and cheezier for future games. Todays gaming is just remaking and remastering old goldies, or copy those that do best. Hope people won't get dissapointed. Good for u to be excited. Keep up the good work, best regards✌️

Where is Midgar Zolom. Where is Junon. Where is Costa del Sol. Where is Corel? Where is the Gold Saucer? They really didnt show much at all...
Keep in mind or if you didn't know after Intergrade the cinematic already puts them at Kalm. So I doubt we venture there. Most likely what we see is after we leave Kalm.

Best girl might be in trouble though, that last line from Sephiroth was TOO cryptic!
He's referring to the scene shown, cloud finds tifa at that point and he thinks she's dead, killed by Sephiroth. Sephiroth is talking to Cloud, manipulating him into believing Tifa is an imposter. At least that's the only way I see it that leaves no holes and fits in with the scene itself.

Kinda admire this game because it forces you to stay on your toes, who knows what's real anymore.
It's probably Sephiroth brainwashing Cloud into thinking that Tifa is an imposter, so he would distrust them and would follow Sephiroth instead, just like in the original game
Honestly think it's a bait and switch, and the dialogue is actually referring to sephiroth having killed aerith.
Clouds been having visions of her death, and I think sephiroth is referring to them.

I just don't see that being the case with the '2 discs' being part of their marketing splash screen. Remake on PS4 was 2 discs (install and play, as you state) but they never marketed that .. this feels different, it's a bold statement like they want you to know the game is big
@@chrisburden15 Yep, it's definitely an "Insert Disc 2" during a break in the story / gameplay after a cutscene situation, likely halfway through the game.

I got Intergraph and it wasn't 2 disc's, only one on ps5. That being said I got the ps4 version digitally
No. Remake is one disc with a separate install disc. This seems to be 2 discs proper and with the scope that's shown, seems about right.

Not really sure what that beginning was about either. Maybe they're gonna go hard on alternate timeline shit, and show a timeline where the crew gets injured when the plate falls? Idk, hope not, but can't think of any other reason to have that beginning.
Heard theories that it's Zack's timeline and the party just dies from the tornado caused by the plot ghosts. Cloud isn't with them because he never came across Tifa because he was with Zack. That's Cloud saying "reunion" in Zacks timeline.

Main prediction for the alternate timeline is that it will be Zack's journey across the world to find Cloud, who has fallen completely under Jenova's influence like the other robed clones and he's watching that footage on the big screen in Sector 5

Now i get it. Of corse. When Tifa said "what did Cloud do the last 5 Years" and Clouds Vision kinda gets messed up again... its because he thinks its 5 Years. He says that all the Time. But... he also gets to realize slowly that its not true. And when she says that i assume there was an Argument bevore with Tifa (or not, but he just knows something is off or Sephiroth told him its not 5 Years. Anyways.) so he starts to doubt himself. And later on he doubts Tifa. Thats how the Game Ends up where it will end up in the OG anyways. They just show/explain it better here. I love it so far. Makes Sense.

Dual techs, dual timelines, dual discs! Willllllld. Also: this all but confirms that it ends with Cloud in the Lifestream and the crew imprisoned in Junon. Part 3 starts with Junon attack/prison break/Highwind theft. Then it’s collect legendary materia and learn the story of the ancients, defeat the weapons, revisit Midgar and crush Shinra, then defeat Sephiroth. Gimme all of this you got no matter how they slice it
Also as a speed runner of FF7 you should know that Midgar in the OG was actually a good portion of the whole game. Every other place you go to you basically bounce between them Kalm > past story > Chocobo Barn > Mythril mine > Fort Condor > Junon > Costa del sol > etc. You barely stay in these areas in the OG. Also Disc 3 is basically only Northern Crater and that's all. Ontop of the fact they are able to do a lot more for part 2 and 3 because they already have the structure of the game made and coded already. That saves them a lot of time allowing them to add more content in part 2 and 3 it's very possible to fit the whole story if they choose to.
The Weapons wont be in this Part unfortunally. I dont think so at least. It will stop just before that Part or rather exactly there. We may see them but thats that.

This plot is turning out to be as crazy complicated as Chrono Cross's, with multiple timelines existing and running together. And I'm glad theyre finally addressing how very unlikely it was for Tifa to survive that masamune gash at Nibelheim.

You find Vincent in Nibelheim. After cosmo canyon and before Mt Nibel. The mythril mines are way earlier just after the zolom.

Can someone tell me exactly, with evidence, why they are hyped for 2 discs and why they are hyped for multiple timelines? This is a legit question as I'm curious where the excitement actually comes from.
First one, pretty straight forward. 2 disks means up to 200GB, which likely means its a much bigger game than Remake with more content and this would fall in line with what the devs have been saying in interviews. Who wouldn't be excited for more content right? Maybe speed runners...
Second one is slightly more complicated. What the developers are doing is trying to recreate the experience of playing the original FOR THE FIRST TIME, that's the key thing. A lot of the people playing this game already know the events of the og game but HUGE component of the original experience was the mystery and uncertainty of what Sephiroth's goals are and what Cloud's memories and identity are. We've already had those big twists spoiled for us so to recreate that mystery they have kept Cloud as the "unreliable narrator" and added the element of an "uncertain world" on top of that. We don't actually know if it's multiple timelines... could be something else, there are a lot of theories going around. It seems like we still be playing through the original events but certain key things are going to be different, but we don't know what they are yet. It's a combination of having the nostalgia of playing the original combined with the experience of playing it for the first time. That's why people are excited. @@rleeton1 that makes sense… although I think more content = good content is highly illogical thinking. A consumer has only trust in the developer to produce them with content worthy of playing through hours of it.
So I assume I’m one of the people who aren’t excited for new and more content until I trust what’s in it.
Maybe I was also one of the few who only wanted to play through the same experience but touched up and see what it looked like in modern graphics. So I’m the end, I felt a bit betrayed when that’s not what I was sold.
I appreciate the honest response and the time to explain what people are hyped about. It does seem, from my POV, like people are starved for any form of mediocre entertainment that they’d be excited for 2 discs preemptively.
@@LOP4795 Taken on it's own, yeah it's illogical since there are many AAA games out there like Ghost Recon: Wildlands with truckloads of content but it's all the same shit that you get tired of pretty fast. But there are also games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Persona 5 (admittedly haven't completed the latter yet, think I'm about half way in but still loving it). It's not so illogical if you really enjoyed the content of the first one and for me, 90% of it was pitch perfect. Only parts I didn't like were the return to the sewers in CH14 (unnecessary padding), fair few boring repetitive side quests, basic environment puzzles/interaction and the way the ending was handled. The rest was everything I wanted and more and I feel pretty positive about the devs ability to improve on those worse aspects as they were already much better in the Intergrade DLC (Apparently SE have a bunch of Capcom devs working there now and I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch had been moved onto the FFVII:R team).
On the second point, yeah this is always gonna come down to personal preferences. I think we both know there was no way for them to make this game without pissing some fans off and no way for them to create something bold and memorable (for some at least) without taking some risks and they took BIG risks. I chatted to one guy a while back who was pretty angry about the direction of the game but when I asked, his perfect FFVII: Remake was literally "they just needed to give us the original with 16:9 aspect ratio and support for 60fps, but they fucked it up" 😐... I don't know about you but I doubt I'd be getting excited about that after a 25 year wait, but everyone has their own idea what it should have been. Anyway, I pointed him to the 7th Heaven Mod Manager and showed him how to get 60fps and HD textures/models installed. Hopefully he checked those out haha
@@LOP4795 Just so we're clear though, I would also have been very happy with them just doing a more fleshed out version of the OG story with modern graphics and mechanics. Though I think the wait between releases would have nowhere near as exciting for me, especially without all the theory crafting that's going on
This game will determine whether a remake was worth it to me or not. Plot Ghost's were fucking with the themes of the world of ff7, and the last hour really ruined the game for me.
(My problem was never it is different. It's that it is different in such a contrived way. I SWEAR I read a fanfic somewhere at some point when a dude from our world wanted to change things, but the planet tried to hinder him/her.)
I already accepted that some themes will be different, but I will be able to accept it the remake if they don't pull contrived unnatural element that sticks out like a sore thumb, like those ghosts.

Sephiroth was talking about Aerith at the end, not Tifa. That was juxtaposed intentionally to throw people off and make people think and we all know it.
Sephiroth was saying Tifa's name in the scenes on the jap trailer.
