Max’s reactions are priceless. I remember finally getting into final fantasy and 7 remake being my first and falling in love with the game and series. Playing that game during 2020 and staying up was so fun. So good that I had to 100% it. Just seeing this trailer sets me back years.

10:11 Max, I can wholeheartedly say that I have been waiting for this moment for about 25 years. Dreams do come true! How lucky are gamers my age who grew up with these amazing games, TV shows and movies, to see them all remastered/revisioned/rebooted???? We get to experience some of our most favorite, all-time beloved moments again, 10-30 years later. I know a lot of people are tired of things like Superhero movies and reboots, but we would be lying if we said that we never wanted all of these things to exist, the first and second time around. I'm so happy that Square-Enix has put some much love and consideration into FF7 and Super Mario RPG.
I have absolutely zero interest in seeing cloud and sephiroth fighting together. I don't want to see Batman and Joker fighting together. Sometimes the point of a good villain is to be a good villain, not every villain that hits a certain level of popularity needs to be turned into an antihero so fanboys and girls can squee.
I find it very interesting though we haven't seen Cid yet. He is the only part member we haven't seen. We have seen Vincent and the Weapons before Vincent.
Out of all the youtubers/content creaters max's reaction always gives me the chills and you can really tell he's reaction is genuine. It's always a pleasure and a great joy watching your videos max!
My favorite thing about Max is that almost his whole channel is deep love of fighting games and yet the thing that makes him flip his shit the most is FF7. His enthusiasm got me to try out Remake and i'm glad it did.
What I love about Max's reactions is that he does it the way it's supposed to be. He watches it once and has all his crazy reactions, talking over it and just fanboying out, and then he watches it again to analyze it. That's the way it -should- be done instead of the usual reaction videos where people overreact over everything and you don't know if they heard anything, if they're faking it or whatever. The moment I saw cloud and sephiroth fighting alongside got me so pump up and seeing Vincent again just makes it all the better. Plus, the whole area and locations are so much better looking and the awe in scale is so awesome. I just can’t wait to take on many sub stories and side quests and will try to do everything and anything that the game has to offer. This is the only final fantasy game that I enjoy the most and no other can top it. To me this is The Final Fantasy.

Yeah it looks awesome. You’ll love it if it follows the original as the game opens up a lot as soon as you leave Midgar. Gold Saucer in particular looks like a great place for them to dump side quests again.
This is truly what gaming is about. I love his reaction to this game because it’s genuinely one of his favorites and this is how most people who play games feel about there favorite franchise. Dude this was easily the most impressive trailer I’ve ever witnessed from any game! I don’t ever get super excited about much, but I was legitimately screaming and bouncing up and down while watching this. I’ve already pre-ordered the Collector’s Edition!!!
Remember that Aerith's line is different in the original japanese; she says "I miss it, the metal sky," in reference to her conversation on the rooftops, about how large the world outside of Midgard is and how the upper plate feels almost comforting.
This was epic honestly, I can't wait. The story, the settings, even the mini games. So much packed into one trailer that I hope is as well thought out as it seems to be. Max reminds me of how I'm gonna be acting when we get more Kingdom Hearts 4 news, especially a release date. Hoping they reintroduce FF into the series there, too.
The game is not too hard to make for a group of like 100 professionals. Why? Well they got the old games. I bet at least 75% of the game is just a bigger and better version of the old game. They don't have to come up with idea's from scratch. They HAVE the source material. So it saves them several months of designing and thinking about WHAT to put in the game

A nice little easter egg at the end of Cloud and Sephiroth's team up attack is that their last strike ends in a an "X-Strike" like Crono and Frog's double tech "X-Strike" in Chrono trigger. The reference is both to the double tech AND the fact Frog and Sephoroth both are wielders of a sword named Masamune.
Here's hoping you go on Spoiler Mode again once you've finished part 2. I must've listened to the one you were on for Remake at least 8 times now, its enjoyable to hear how passionate you are about how deep the themes in this game run.

So for the cat character, I checked what his name was in Japanese and what I saw was it 「ケットシー 」which a direct English spelling would be “ketto shii”. So his name would actually be pronounced Ket Shi or just Cat Sith (a Scottish, Irish folklore creature). Cat Sith is literally what the Japanese is saying. So I guess you can say it either way. Cat Sith or Ket Shi. Or you can pronounce it the JP way Ketto Shii. So the way SE translated that name was kinda weird but I guess Cait Sith is just another way of saying cat sith. Who knows
I think they changed it a bit so it wasn't just a generic word that already exists as a creature, so that the character feels like it has its own identity. While also not hiding the fact that it is heavily inspired by the cat-sith
also how japanese pronounce "cat" usually キャット (kyatto) instead of ケット (ketto), so there is a big chance that it was "cait" all along. I might be wrong tho.
I think it would be great if Cait himself said it the traditional way as Ket Shi, while Barret refers to him as Cait Sith and everyone else just follows his pronunciation.

Scenes this time around show Zack with actual materia in the Buster Sword in an in game cutscene like how it would look with Cloud when he has materia set. We all pretty much already knew but Zack is definitely a playable character. Interesting that Rebirths first trailer showed Cloud in his flashback in his current outfit but in the scene with Sephiroth when they fight together in this one he's in an official Soldier outfit. *Could* mean they just simply corrected things or the scene from the first trailer wasn't a flashback. Don't wanna get too far down the rabbit hole on that one 😅
It is insane that they are actually doing it. It is so clear that square knows how important this fucking story is, and they are putting every inch of effort into making this as perfect as it we ever thought it could be.
Totally agree. It's absolutely impressive how they're actually dealing so well with the expectations of remaking one of the greatest, most important videogames of all times. If somebody told me this would happen like 10 years ago, I would claim such thing to be impossible. Everybody who played the original at release shouldn't be taking this for granted. They're actually remaking FF7 and they're delivering everything a fan would've wanted. Well, aside from the turn-based purists, of course.
I think the reunion in Rebirth is going to be where "worlds collide" as Septhiroth alludes to. This will be around the same time that Cloud will become screwed by Sephiroth and enter a fugue state, like in the OG, and instead of other party members taking over as the leader role, I think Zack will step in as the leader of the party until Cloud comes back to his senses. I think the timelines will be separated in the end, when you kill of Sephiroth, as he was the one converging the different timelines to begin with. Which would be sort of a bittersweet ending, having to say goodbye to Zack all over again.
I am so happy I chose to watch the state of play on your stream. Yeah it looks awesome. You’ll love it if it follows the original as the game opens up a lot as soon as you leave Midgar. Gold Saucer in particular looks like a great place for them to dump side quests again.

This is truly what gaming is about. I love his reaction to this game because it’s genuinely one of his favorites and this is how most people who play games feel about there favorite franchise. Sucks that not every company is trying to be as caring and loving to there fans and developing of there best titles.

Remember that Aerith's line is different in the original japanese; she says "I miss it, the metal sky," in reference to her conversation on the rooftops, about how large the world outside of Midgard is and how the upper plate feels almost comforting.

This was epic honestly, I can't wait. The story, the settings, even the mini games. So much packed into one trailer that I hope is as well thought out as it seems to be. Max reminds me of how I'm gonna be acting when we get more Kingdom Hearts 4 news, especially a release date. Hoping they reintroduce FF into the series there, too.
The game is not too hard to make for a group of like 100 professionals.
Why? Well they got the old games. I bet at least 75% of the game is just a bigger and better version of the old game. They don't have to come up with idea's from scratch. They HAVE the source material.
So it saves them several months of designing and thinking about WHAT to put in the game

A nice little easter egg at the end of Cloud and Sephiroth's team up attack is that their last strike ends in a an "X-Strike" like Crono and Frog's double tech "X-Strike" in Chrono trigger.
The reference is both to the double tech AND the fact Frog and Sephoroth both are wielders of a sword named Masamune.

So for the cat character, I checked what his name was in Japanese and what I saw was it 「ケットシー 」which a direct English spelling would be “ketto shii”. So his name would actually be pronounced Ket Shi or just Cat Sith (a Scottish, Irish folklore creature). Cat Sith is literally what the Japanese is saying. So I guess you can say it either way. Cat Sith or Ket Shi. Or you can pronounce it the JP way Ketto Shii. So the way SE translated that name was kinda weird but I guess Cait Sith is just another way of saying cat sith. Who knows
I think they changed it a bit so it wasn't just a generic word that already exists as a creature, so that the character feels like it has its own identity. While also not hiding the fact that it is heavily inspired by the cat-sith
It's correct, Cat Sith is pronounced like that in Gaelic
also how japanese pronounce "cat" usually キャット (kyatto) instead of ケット (ketto), so there is a big chance that it was "cait" all along. I might be wrong tho.
I think it would be great if Cait himself said it the traditional way as Ket Shi, while Barret refers to him as Cait Sith and everyone else just follows his pronunciation.

Scenes this time around show Zack with actual materia in the Buster Sword in an in game cutscene like how it would look with Cloud when he has materia set. We all pretty much already knew but Zack is definitely a playable character. Interesting that Rebirths first trailer showed Cloud in his flashback in his current outfit but in the scene with Sephiroth when they fight together in this one he's in an official Soldier outfit. *Could* mean they just simply corrected things or the scene from the first trailer wasn't a flashback. Don't wanna get too far down the rabbit hole on that one 😅

It is insane that they are actually doing it. It is so clear that square knows how important this fucking story is, and they are putting every inch of effort into making this as perfect as it we ever thought it could be.
Totally agree. It's absolutely impressive how they're actually dealing so well with the expectations of remaking one of the greatest, most important videogames of all times. If somebody told me this would happen like 10 years ago, I would claim such thing to be impossible.
Everybody who played the original at release shouldn't be taking this for granted. They're actually remaking FF7 and they're delivering everything a fan would've wanted. Well, aside from the turn-based purists, of course.

I think the reunion in Rebirth is going to be where "worlds collide" as Septhiroth alludes to. This will be around the same time that Cloud will become screwed by Sephiroth and enter a fugue state, like in the OG, and instead of other party members taking over as the leader role, I think Zack will step in as the leader of the party until Cloud comes back to his senses. I think the timelines will be separated in the end, when you kill of Sephiroth, as he was the one converging the different timelines to begin with. Which would be sort of a bittersweet ending, having to say goodbye to Zack all over again.
