I use this stuff in a Cessna service center. 1. plastic scraper works better to get the majority of the paint off first. 2. That stuff will eat tires up. 3. ALWAYS use goggles and gloves to protect yourself you should avoid this stuff contacting your skin and eyes as best as you can. 4. Water neutralizes the agent. Spraying it off before you are done is a waste of time.

I used the spray Aircraft paint remover got it all over my tires it was fine lol

Anyone watching this, Completely cake on the paint remover onto the wheels then cover them with a large plastic bag or similar ( to keep the fumes in) leave it on for 15-20 mins & its will wipe right off with a rag vest easily or plastic scraper .

I’ve used this stuff for years. Ez to use. Definitely adhere to all safety concerns and use thick duck tape on the rubber for extra piece of mind .
You Guys seem to be somewhat overthinking this...I just done a set of rims on a 97 ram 1500 using the brush on Air Craft stripper with the tires still mounted on the rims...Brush on as the directions say I kept a damp rag with me in case some did get on the tires and wipe off immediately...The results were great left a raw aluminum cast finish...Time and Patience is key to this project...

The inside of those rims watching you clean and paint the outside is priceless!!😂 Along with stripping and properly painting comes getting them rebalanced anyway. Paint changes, and so does the weight, events of the spray, etc. Go ahead and get the backside, too. Good video. Simple and right to the point

Take the tire off the wheels, spray the paint remover, coat that a few times, spray it with the pressure washer
That aitcraft remover is serious chemical. i used it and the vapors were scary. also accidentally touched my nose with it and the burning made me run to sink. yeah protect eyes. theyll be gone beyond repair if it gets on eyes.

This took one coat off my rims but there’s a another layer of primer and paint I can’t seem to get off. I just want to get to the oem paint and I know it’s there because there’s a couple spots that have made it through.

Sandblasting those rims is the easiest and safest way. One drop of that aircraft remover on your eye and you’ll loose sight permanently.

The rims are sprayed with a regular car paint (from a can more likely)not powder coated. I bet ,hence the paint came off pretty fast.

No primer of course this stuff works great lol. For years using this product. On a factory painted wheel or professional powder coat with proper primer that aircraft stuff would need at least 2-4 reapplications. Lucky you lol.

the only reason it came off that easily was because that was weak spray paint. never even had primer
K9 RULER not true I've used this paint remover on multiple occasions without a problem even with things that had multiple layers of paint I'm talking about 4-5 different layers of different paint and it still removes it with no problem it works man 👌
And the wheels where not even prepped they where still polished under the paint :)

thanks for the video. with most of these things, you just need to find out what the base chemical is then use some wall paper paste / gelatine to thicken it up so it doesnt run

they banned the active ingredient, dimethlochloride, the year you posted this video. Klean-Strip makes a non-methylchloride version, but I guess I will have to make a purchase to see if it works the same. I cant really blame them for banning it - apparently, a good whiff is enough to cut off oxygen to your heart. Anyone that would go in half-baked and use it in a not-so-ventilated garage might be found much later - well done. lol

You won't be able to find a paint stripper with the active ingredient dimethlochoride.
So it's hard to strip powdered coat alloys.
Next bet is a sand blaster

So I watched your video about that aircraft stripper I highly suggest anyone not to use it for one I didn’t do I’m on day two of trying to get the paint off with that stuff I use regular paint thinner on one of the rims and it came off in a matter of minutes I use some of this aircraft remover to get the remaining and it has stained all my rims and I P colored so now my rims are screwed I’m trying to send them off but now I get to scratch him don’t use it
idk what kind i’m getting that has the exact same label as the one you have… i put copious amounts on my rims and it acted like it was barely there even after multiple coats and hours of waiting

People , be super careful with that paint stripper, it works well, but its ferocious!! It is super super acidic and it smells like death, used it once a year ago, its still detectable on the ground

The new formula of this product without Methylene Chloride is useless. You have to find a commercial product that still has that ingredient and a store that is willing to sell it you. Might have to say you're a body shop or similar business.

Hit them with the lacquer first removed the paint then i hit them with a polish but in this video none of them were polished at the moment

great video. I want my original powder coat finish back on my wheels. Currently they have the paint and clear coat I sprayed on them. Will this stripper remove the current paint down to my original factory wheel color or will it strip that too? Which is what I don't want to happen. I just want to remove the current paint and clear coat without damaging the original Factory Powder Coat.

It's pretty safe to you I would say wear some gloves and a cheap little paper mask just to be safe alsoI don't get a headache cause I did it in an open area and the fumes are pretty strong but if you do it in an open area you should have nothing to worry about good luck 👍 let me know how it went for you

As far as the acid shit always practice safety when dealing with corrosives eyewear and gloves and most of all an apron and facemask for the fumes. Better safe than sorry

David Charles I don’t think it will as you can see in the video the rims were originally chrome and had red paint over it the chrome stood intact but every case is different i would say try a small spot on your rims and see how it works out for you

Whats all that residue left on the wheels? Its like theirs grease or some kind of build up on them after you use the paint remover. Did you get it off? And what did you use to clean the rims after?
it was like a glue from the paint but i scrubbed it off added more paint remover and a scrub and it came off also for the polishing i used spray nine to clean the rims and never dull to polish them
