That's good to know. When I was young I used a lot the arm stretcher, 5 "cords", metal springs, pushing both arms in horizontal plane, which put a lot of pressure on my shoulders. At some point someone alerted me that the device has undesirable effects on the joints and I should stop using it. Yeah, I realized with time that was hurting my shoulders, but I was used to the pain (at that time the training was hard, pain was something common). I stopped using it, but too late, the damage was already done. Thanks for the info, guys ;)

What really helps my shoulders is ring workouts. Since I've started doing the reverse ring fly I've had a lot less pain and my shoulder doesn't get caught anymore. I do have to do it fairly often. If I stop for more than 2 weeks all my problems come right back.

I have been having shoulder issues for many years, original trauma was overuse at a job where I was throwing 90-pound blocks for 12-hour shifts. My Dr then told me I damaged my rotator cuff. I had been doing physical therapy on and off for years but it never improved the numbness I would get in my hands. I am also a type 1 diabetic and see a mess of Drs. Needless to say, they had me on and off of pills trying to remedy it. I recently finally went to a chiropractor who helped adjust a spot in my upper back that relieved the tension that had been pinching some nerve. I have been trying to correct my posture throughout my day. I have raised my computer monitor, adjusted the height of my chair, had tried a posture corrector vest, all sorts of stretching and exercises but still have some pinching/numbness. I think I have figured it out finally though after some thought and remembering one of your videos I had watched. I had slept a night without a pillow. Helped a bit but my neck needed support, so I dug out a foam-filled airplane pillow and slept like a full-bellied baby. I don't think I woke up once to readjust since using it, other than it makes me sweat. I then came back to your channel to see what products you recommend for sleeping. I am now awaiting delivery of a set neck roll pillows and using a rolled-up towel until they arrive. Thank you both for all the helpful advice and knowledge. God Bless

Used to work for a certified hand therapist so we did a lot of shoulder and elbow and wrist work. The most common issue in the shoulder that people shared leading to impingement and other issues was a tight anterior joint capsule. Just by addressing the shoulder capsule (side lying internal rotation or sleeper stretch) 10-15 mins, 2-3x day, did a lot to help offset issues. We also did a few other stretches (external rotation + inferior joint capsule stretch, and then strengthening exercises) usually helped resolve issues for those patients that came in before or after surgery.

3 years ago I started focusing working out my shoulders and ended up doing all the exercises shown here (especially the stretches) and I kid you not it fixed about 85% of the issues I had.

Most importantly I sleep better too.

I had torn rotator cuffs on both sides. It was years ago but my shoulders click snd pop snd feel like they’re going to come out of the socket with the slightest most. Serrapeptase actually stopped it. If I missed taking it for a few days, all that popping and clicking along with pain, came right back. I don’t know what happened but it’s been over a week since I’ve taken it and I feel like I’ve been healed. It’s amazing.

Thanks guys. I reinjured my shoulder again. I have 25 years gym experience and decent understanding of body mechanics. Years ago I was an idiot and went to way to heavy on a shoulder press, bounced out of the bottom and injured it.
It recovered then about 2 years after I was doing heavy bench and reinjured it again.
Then at the start of the year I dieted for the first time and was doing heavy pause press for 5 reps (bar weight was down 5lbs and I was down 23+lbs). Once again I injured it.
It's getting better and I'm slowly increasing the weight but changed the lifts for safer exercises, such as a machine press that's low on the chest.
I have done hanging to help and other stretches. But the W and especially the band thing that is common felt good even without weight. TY.

I've had some shoulder instability for quite a few years now - one thing that has really helped me is side lateral raises with light weight (10-12lbs) maybe even less. This strengthens the ligaments around the shoulder and created stability for me. Hope this helps someone!

I need to correct my pops” no pain or mobility restriction, just pops when I’m warming my shoulders up. Once my shoulders are warmed up the popping stops,,, I’m also heavy into calisthenics so may be the high value of different push up variations

I've heard that if you do a lot of pushups but you don't strengthen the "opposite" muscles on your back, then it is going to really hurt your shoulders (and posture) in the long run

  • @reneraven434

Perfect timing for this! I was having all sorts of “catches“ in my left shoulder where it was painful. Now it’s turning into frozen shoulder. I’ve been trying to do stretches but I can’t raise my arm over my head like I used to. I recently had a dog who snapped my arm back quickly and there was a big pop so it released it a little bit but it’s still not like my other arm, Which is very flexible

    • @denisesimons-morton9201

This happened to me-I got frozen shoulder because I wasn’t moving my shoulder joint, arm didn’t swing when I walked. Shoulder muscles tensed up and couldn’t relax. Keep that joint moving with stretching. If you can’t, go to PT. You may need to see a neurologist. I ended up with diagnosis of Parkinson’s.
