Instead of pushing on a table wouldn't it be better to use a bungee or rubber strap anchored up high to pull down on to place the proper muscles under load and then lean forward.....this way one can place greater load on the arm
I had a bad impingement. A prior video by B&B helped me self diagnose and successfully self treat. A year later, my bad habits are seeing the symptoms creep back. I'm back to my exercises and already improving. No drugs, no surgery.
@@BobandBrad I watched the video that shows you how to diagnose if it's a shoulder impingement or rotorcuff issue. There was only one of the tests I could not do without pain which was the 1 where you put your hand behind your back so does that still mean I would have a rotor cuff issue? Now I have pain in my tricep area do you guys have any videos that would show what your arm would feel like or how to diagnose a tear in error in your tricep muscle or tendon because honestly that is what I think I have an issue with but the Doctor I'm dealing with Just wants to jump to rotor cuff issue just because I cannot put my arm behind my back without pain all the other parts of the test I pass and she's just dismissing the issue I have with the pain in my tricep area
Hello! I have shoulder impingement due to bad form in the Upright Rows. Should I stop my pushing exercises and replace it with these exercises for the time being or should I use these exercises as warm ups and continue with my usual routine replacing Upright Rows for lower angle Lateral Raises? Please help 😃
How did you know I'm having this exact problem right now?! GREAT job thoroughly explaining each one so they can be done correctly. Thanks so much, these REALLY work! Awe, we love you Mike... it takes a team and you THREE guys are amazing! P.S. Brad, your socks are SO cool!
You're my 'go to' guys for physio between in-person visits to my chiropractor! If only more people realised how easy it is to fix shoulder pain WITHOUT surgery.
Newly diagnosed with this problem. I found your video incredibly helpful, particularly with the tips for those of us who do not have hanging bars in their house (and who does?), plus alternatives for doing the rest of the exercises. Thank you.
I tried several other stretches I found, but the 2nd on in this video really provided relief! I just did it in the same motion that normally causes pain. My shoulder is a little sore, but motions are already much easier! Thank you!
Took me a year to figure out what my shoulder problem was after over-doing my bench pressing a year ago. Think I tore my rotator cuff but that healed wrong way and the result is shoulder Impingement.. Yea, that's gotta be it. I like your first exercise where you stand in front of a chair, push down hard with the injured shoulder's hand, and walk backwards 2-3 short steps while maintaining pressure and stretching that guy out. Immediate relief. I do the doorway one two. THANK YOU!
These stretches are a godsend!! I have chronic left shoulder scapular tightness and recurring impingement secondary to compensatory muscle use because of weakness in my right leg. It's tricky to keep on top of it even with diligent physio and proper self care. These stretches have given me more relief than anything else I've tried!! Thank you 🙂.
I've been getting increasingly concerned about my shoulder impingement, it's been two or three months now. It's a bad look for a tai chi teacher lol I just did the one where I press into my desk and stretch backwards, I felt something pop and now there's less pain. I dunno if it's fixed completely, it's hard to tell coz I got a covid booster in that shoulder yesterday which is very sore today, but I think it's made a big difference. Cheers fellas ^_^
Hi Bob Brad & Mike! ♥️♥️♥️ I thank God for your knowledge and comforting advice! I seem to have shoulder Impingement and Very tight Pecs - A weird Ouchy !! Just ordered your Q2 massage gun ♥️🕊💪🙏🏻
I've been grabbing ahold of my sink rim at the countertop in the bathroom, till my spine is straight and legs are at a 90 degree angle or parallel to the counter and arms are parallel to the countertop. It feels great. For the "child's pose" pushing down into the mat, I just did this on a carpeted floor (then, you mentioned that!) - I can see how the push down is really important and I can hear little cracklings as I'm almost down to the floor stretch at the end. Nowhere could I find any exercises to help relieve the pain/resolve that issue. It would just be splendid if you guys could make that a topic. There's also nothing about it on your channel either from all I've seen (nobody has anything on it it seems). For example - the hanging exercise shown first... I can't do that. Actually, when I saw it on your channel first over a year ago I did and I think this was even the first time I've felt the pain. It's mostly not there without any strain but with strain on the arm it hurts in the arm pit.
Thanks so much for the exercises. I am wondering if they can help with my situation. I can reach out laterally and out vertically without discomfort. My pain comes from when I put my arm out laterally and then make an L. When I am in this position it hurts and it hurts more when I move it backwards. Is this a different problem needing different exercises? Thanks again.
I fell hard on a tile floor. Mexican tile floor. I thought I dislocated my shoulder. Insurance won't do mri until I have PT. PT is diagnosing it as an inpigment. @BobandBrad When should a person NOT do these exercises, especially the hanging exercise? I love Bob's version of the chicken wing exercise!! Thanks
What if you are unable to reach behind your back or pull up your own pants?
In my case, my shoulder blade always make big crunchy noises when it's required to move and my PT and I have found no way to help it. The exercises in this video don't help either :\
What if the pain is not when lifting like you showed, Brad, but extremely painful with other types of movements? And the pain radiates into the neck.
Heading to ortho tomorrow if weather cooperates. 😢
Thanks, you need to be careful not to lean too much on that first exercise though!
You're welcome!
Hyper extension is what causes incredible pain and shocks the muscles which shocks the system and you get sick.
Thanks for sharing
Where's Bob? He's excellent?
