For me I use the term "Plant" probably cause I've watched snooker all my life. Also probably the reason I prefer to play using a cue ball that's the same size as the rest of the balls. I think the cue ball in pool was only made smaller so the table recognised which single ball had to be sent to the opposite side of the table, but I'll accept being corrected in this. Only in recent years I've watched more pool than snooker, and I've hardly ever played snooker, so your tips and advise has really helped me improve my game so many thanks for that.
One day I hope my cue ball control will get better as that's my biggest downfall. Your video on "Natural angles" really opened my eyes as to how bad my knowledge was on where the white was going, in yet using side I was far more confident on where I was putting the white. Totally bizzare thinking about it.
Anyway, many thanks for all the tips and tricks, keep the great tutorials coming 👍🏻

Thank you Mick, never really thought about how the grip changes the running of the ball on a plant. Great advice. Thank you

I start to think differently after watching your coaching on these skills. Tried the natural angle drill yesterday - great outcomes that also progresses my understanding about manipulating the cue ball

Such a beneficial aspect with different levels of grip on the cue. Its expanded my range of positional play so much! Insightful stuff as always, thanks Mick

Another great video Mick. I particularly liked the tip of picking a spot on the rail, I’ll try that out tonight at practice. 👍🏻

Great video Mick. The set-up with rhe curtains looks like you're in a scene from Dexter though 😅
I've posted a video on my channel about improving your aim. Would love to get your thoughts on it if you have the time?

Hi mick, could you possibly set up a table camera so we can see things closer and from your perspective?

Great videos mick 🤙🏻 Really insightful. But how do you play the ball when it’s up against the cushion ? I keep on miscuing. Thanks

I'd say plant comes from "you plant one ball onto another" best thing i can come up with

Mick, is it possible to get the intermediate ball to roll forward if you are on a greater angle than your example? e.g. half ball or greater. Is it the same principle? Furthermore, what is happening here? Presumably you're imparting forward spin on the intermediate object ball.
