  • Welcome to part 3 of my Road to Rebirth series where I recap the story in Final Fantasy 7 Remake while discussing story theories! In this part I cover the Wall Market portion of the game up to the Secret Underground Shinra Facility! If you're new here I highly recommend watching both parts 1 and 2 so you can be caught up. Not just with the story but also with the theories you and I are building together. #finalfantasy7remake #finalfantasyviiremake #finalfantasy7

If you're really interested in what happened to Aerith/Tifa before we meet them in Final Fantasy 7, you should pick up Traces of Two Pasts. It explores how Tifa goes from being gravely injured to running 7th Heaven and meeting Barrett and Avalanche. Then it covers everything about Aerith and her mother.

If that's the case that the OG Aerith is projecting everything to remake Aerith then that would also mean that Sephiroth somehow made his way through to remake.
If you notice, Aerith gets startle when shes was communing with the planet and you hear a little bit of Sephiroth's music play right when she looks towards the alley before running away. In the OG FF7, that never happened. She just finishes communing with the planet and just walks away.
My theory is that Sephiroth, who is still stuck in the life stream, manage to use the life stream to make it through to remake. It might also be the cause of Cloud suddenly having headaches and memory flashes since both Cloud and Sephiroth are link through the jenova genes.

I think sephiroth in remake is directly from the original, when we get to Shinra tower I'll elaborate. Great comment though!

I thought the train graveyard was filler when I played, second playthrough I realised that chapter is subtly going into Aeriths backstory/childhood.

Good point. I enjoyed more in remake than in og.

@@PlayerVersusGamenow that I've finished watching your videos, I would like to add... the train graveyard chapter actually backs up your point in these videos that Aerith (remake version) seems to either know what's going to happen or at least has a stronger way of communicating to the planet than og version of Aerith. Graveyard chapter implys that remake Aerith was communicating and playing with these child ghosts when she was young but felt lonely because only she could see them and they couldn't play with her because they are dead.
There seems to be more to that boss too. He's keeping the children from returning to the lifestream.

I think not only aerith knows the future but cloud too for my opinion since cloud can see the glimpse of the future like those illusion and that moment when cloud wake up at the shinra building we see aerith explain what is CETRA and when tifa asking aerith what she hiding the reaction of cloud he maybe knows aerith gonna die someday, aside from that in the garden when cloud and aerith talking he said you have to embrace this moments, he maybe knows and he maybe accepts that it gonna happened someday,
    this is just my opinion

The Aerith whisper: My guess is she's a Jenova clone. As to what purpose it serves? That I'm not sure yet, but Aerith has been dead. That same distortion, occurs with Sephiroth, who is also a Jenova clone at this point (remember his real body is in the northern crater and even in the original is only seen twice, as you chase jenova and clones the entire game otherwise when you see the iterations).

Also worth noting whatever her "touch" does is what calmed down Red 13 and made him be able to speak. Note that he did not speak until after the same touch.

He's dead. No way. Wedge is dead unless they go the look-how-unpreictable-we-are-caught-you-out route.

    Some fun things...
Ghosts. Though not significant to Cloud's story, it has an interesting premise and concept to the story as a whole. Ghosts are spirits who cannot return to the planet, due to some unusual means. The black wind/wing, Sephiroth/Geostigma/Jenova/black LifeStream...
For the pillar scene, some additional significant changes exist but are not as obvious as face value.
The plate falls in a different way, where it splits up into several sections. Many preceding explosions take place. In the original game, it falls in a different way.
In the book "the kids are alright", we learn that according to Evan, he was not only there earlier in the day, when he returned nobody survived or made it out. It was only thanks to Wedge that people made it out.
In Dirge, a game which introduced the whispers as an auditory phenomenon that surrounds the Shinra building every night after Jenova escaped. Reeve refers to them as disembodied voices screaming and howling in the wind.
The whispers take on the appearance of cloaked figures. I doubt this is a coincidence, given possible ties to geostigma.

Thanks for sharing. I never even though to look into how the plate fell here versus original. I can't wait to finish remake once more and get right into rebirth!

      @@PlayerVersusGame one more good one...
December 9th is when the OG started in every timeline list we ever got. December 12th is when remake starts the same bombing mission. Everything spirals from there...
      Also.
Sephiroth can't fly without wings, but Jenova-roth can. Jenova doesn't know Cloud's name. In the OG, Jenova-Roth broke herself out, killed the president, and later finds us on the ship, asking "Who are you?"
So note what is said in the Shinra building as Jenova calls to Cloud. "What a touching reunion.". "don't deny me.". Not a single mention of Cloud's name... It has no idea who they are beyond the cells in Cloud.

Yeah I was kinda surprised that Biggs and Wedge survived but Jessie didn't. Even Zack survived. Jessie wasn't so lucky it seems.

I understand what you mean when you said Elmyras late husband was a soldier.
You mean he was a shinra infantryman. Like Cloud.
SOLDIER is a very specific arm of the military ran by Shinra, and included characters like Zack, and Sephiroth.
