  • Hi Guys!
My name is Lizzii Le and this is just the story of my journey in medicine. I feel that sometimes on social media, you see only the surface. People graduating, celebrating, getting degrees. But there are stories behind every single one of those milestones.
I just wanted to make my introduction into youtube by sharing my experience with trying to get my medical degree thus far. It has not been easy.
If my story has moved you in any capacity, please feel free to share or reach out to me on instagram @LizziiLeMed
    Hope you enjoyed this video!

Thank you. Pre-med is so freaking toxic, and I feel like with all the competing I'm constantly comparing myself to others, which is so not ok. Thank you for being so transparent and for sharing personal details about your life. It's real and it's raw. I hope that your match day goes well next year! I'm sure your loved ones are extremely proud of you.

yes, pre-med is getting more and more toxic since schools are getting harder and harder to get into. idk why it has to be like this! we have a doctor shortage!

Lizzie Thanks for sharing your journey, looking forward to another video, I have searched high and low to hear some positive stuff about Caribbean school and it seems it did you well. Thus would like to hear more, plus I watch your other video, and yes, I don't like the MCAT but trying to do well in it.

How much physics is on the mcat.....also, thank you for your story.. I have a similar story and I’ll share it here for you to read, so the reason I found your videos was because I was searching Caribbean medical school experiences and this is because I am a junior in undergraduate studies and I have a 3.2 GPA and this is due to the fact that the first two years of college I was getting Cs and Bs on average and they are not my prerequisites for medical school but they were the basic courses like algebra World religion, comp1 that I look at back now and I could definitely have done better on them but it is what it is anyways my story starts with me graduating high school 18 I went to college straight out of high school and after my first semester my father started growing a lump on his forehead he got a biopsy a month later and it turned out to be multiple myeloma. my father was a single divorced man and he didn’t make much money due to the fact that he wasn’t a legal US citizen so being the older 18-year-old kid at that time in my life I decided to take responsibility of paying all the bills and paying all the medical bills for my father‘s care, with that said after two years of battling cancer he also passed away when I was 20 years old. during this time I was taking one or two classes at a time but I still found myself not getting A’s that I needed for my GPA I remember sitting in my chemistry one course and the professor announced that there was an exam to be taken and I had not prepared one single bit for this exam as I was clueless to the fact that there was gonna be an exam my girlfriend at the time was surprised that I didn’t even know there was going to be an exam and she said to me you need to start taking this very serious because if you really wanna be a doctor you’re not gonna make it going to class not prepared for an exam and she was right however I was still going through shock of losing my father since me and him were really close and I got to see everything happening in front of my eyes for two years, I saw him slowly Deteriorating in front of my eyes he lost his his ability to speak then his ability to walk and then his ability to swallow and then he was getting seizures from the brain tumors because his cancer metastasized into his cerebral spinal fluid and ultimately that’s what cost him his life and I was just not in the right spot for me to be at school and get good grades that point. I took some time off away from school maybe about a year and when I was 21 or 22 I decided to go back and take stuff serious and I am currently finishing my last year of undergrad studies and I have done a lot better in my harder courses like biology 1 and 2 ,Genetics, physics 1 chem 1 and 2 , all with A’s but one B which is physics..I am considering Caribbean medical school because looking at my GPA I know it’s doesnt reflect who I am and I know that if I were placed in a medical school I would be able to and be successful, however I know that US medical schools wouldn’t see me that way

I find many who cry about MCAT score getting low 500, like wth! I've seen 515 with rejection..its just too few seats.
