    Respect Respect Respect
    It takes guts to share scores anywhere
    Yet you sharing your scores is giving hope to every US Residency aspirant to give the best and leave the rest to Almighty.
    It not only is about the scores but also about everything you have to offer of yourself with the scores
    Keep it up.

    This was great!! Could you give us more info on what things you added to your ERAS app while applying for the match? Research positions, volunteering, observerships? Would love to hear more about your personal timeline as well!

    How do you find, community based programs!

    Hey Dr. Saini,
    Great content!
    I just had a question; you mentioned that US IMG's had a better chance to matching to a university based program vs a rural community program. Which type of program have you matched to?
    Also, I am a fellow canadian who's higly considering caribbean and but I simply can’t afford top 5; so Im considering St James and American University of integrated sciences (AUIS). Any opinions?
    Finally, it seems like you're planning to work in the US. Is that the case or are you planning to work back in Canada at some point? Asking because I'm planning to do the same just not sure what the pros and cons of doing so are 🤷‍♂️

    • @alyciasainimd5101
      @alyciasainimd5101  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey! thanks for your questions, first i matched into a community based program, TWC in Scranton. And in terms of caribbean schools i havent heard AUIS but i have many friends who graduated from St james and they all scored well on their exams and successfully matched. And I plan on doing a video all about my future plans on canada vs US so stay tuned for that! :)

    Amazing vid! Thank you!
    I have a question though. Can I apply to off-cycle positions without applying to the match ?(if I’m still honing my cv which is still not quite match-application-worthy🤣)

    • @alyciasainimd5101
      @alyciasainimd5101  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can! you would contact and interview with the program directly and send them the required documents they would be looking for like your step scores!

    Hi, wondering about matching to a residency in Ontario. Would it be easier or harder than US? I am a Canadian and that would be my goal.

    Hi Dr. Saini! Thanks so much for this video. I was able to take away a lot of valuable information. I'm currently a 2nd yr IMG student trying to plot out options for the match. Do you have any suggestions on how to get US Clinical Experience as an international student?

    • @alyciasainimd5101
      @alyciasainimd5101  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi! there are companies that can help you set up clinical rotations in the US. Im not sure what your medical school uses, but i would suggest looking up clinical rotation companies in the states you would be interested in living/matching in for residency.

    thanks so much for this video! can you tell me a bit more about the rotations? what are they and are they required in order for you to match into a residency? also, how long is the residency itself required to be to get the MD title after you complete all the steps?

      thanks for the comment! im actually working on a video of the whole timeline from university to MD. Overall though the family medicine residency in the US is 3 years long.
