Maybe job placement should be tied to public college funding.

"No traditional grades"?? 🥴🤦🏽‍♂️ .... If it's a state school, then the governor is in the right to fix it

Did a bit of digging and due to the nature of the 60-second news program, they kind of skim over why the schools does this.
Essentially, students are still “graded” via comprehensive reports about their performance for a semester. Students enter “contracts” to agree upon a reasonable level of success: say you did a 3/5 contract, a student would be at risk of a failing a semester if they received low scores in 3 courses; but low scores in 2 courses would be disregarded.
The thesis for this practice is to encourage pursuing diverse subject matter outside one’s comfort zone (the original purpose for higher education, rather than funneling into highly specified work). So say a humanities major wanted to try a calculus and a physics course, they would be free to without risking a poor performance in either tanking their GPA (same goes for a STEM major who wanted to try out an art class or poetry workshop).
It’s actually a rather novel idea. Essentially providing students with detailed feedback and the opportunity to expand the breadth of their education with the safety net of those classes not destroying their grades overall

I was a professor of economics. You are right. Evil is the word to describe higher ed in the US, and K-12 as well. The faculty at nearly all colleges and universities are indoctrinating students in evil ideology (communism) of which DEI is a part, the administrators are all on board with it and force that ideology into every aspect of student life, and the students can't do real college work because their K-12 schooling is a complete joke and so they swallow the evil notions their professors spew forth. The intellectually and morally bankrupt universities, and the K-12 teachers they train , are responsible for the huge and growing number of seriously mentally ill and morally ill young people in this country. It's so sickening and will get worse since there is no strong countervailing force, since many religions have succumbed to the evil ideology as well. Civilization cannot survive under these circumstances. DeSantis is trying as hard as one man can to do something about it and I wish him Godspeed. But we need many more warriors like him. Unfortunately, there are virtually none left in academia ---they were kicked out long ago.

Yeah, I know. Gov. DeSantis could have gone to a great school like Hillsdale but instead he chose a liberal New England brainwashing univ, Harvard, instead. Really bad choice Ron. Practice what you preach.

New college is full of lost kids,it's truly sad,the parents dump them there to be groomed.
