They chose New College to focus on getting a college education, and to do that in an environment that feels safe when they tend to be rejected & bullied at "normal," traditional, conservative schools. DeSantis is in a position to help that school, and bringing positive change and balance is useful to organizations and schools. HOWEVER, if his appointees ACTUALLY wanted to help, they would have taken time to get to know the professors, students and programs. INSTEAD, they came in with all their own decisions made - based on a closed-thought ideology - and fired everyone who may have stood in the gap for the very bright students. My daughter lost her Jr and Sr years of high school to covid, and she worked her butt off to apply for scholarships and financial aid. IF she gets to finish at NCF, she will have less than $8000 in debt. If she transfers, she will lose her scholarships and could rack up $50k - 80K to finish her last 2 years. The people who judge that school are standing on the outside pointing fingers. For shame. Walk a mile in any of those kids' shoes and take a class and interact with their profs before jumping on the warships. I'm heartsick. After her first year there, she got a full-time summer job at Sarasota County IN HER FIELD of marine biology, and they said they love New College students because they're intelligent, creative and hard working. They're thinkers and doers. Doesn't sound like a place that needs shut down and sold off. Again, shame on DeSantis and all the back-scratchers he brought in to oppress our kids.

1. Folks in Florida are young. Most of the population is moving to Florida because of good governance and state's policies. 2. Governments shouldn't poke their noses in healthcare. Please do a deep study what Obamacare did. On the surface, it looks like government's policies on healthcare are good. But in reality, they make things worse. Governor DeSantis knows this and doesn't want to go down the wrong path. You will need to dig deep to understand this. Don't follow what news channels say. Use your own brain and study unbaised research papers. 3. Yes, masks weren't made mandatory in Florida. But please note that Governor DeSantis gave freedom to individuals and parents to decide if they wanted masks or not. Again, please do your study. New York went with full fledged mask mandates and its results aren't better than Florida's. Do you know why? Because cloth masks don't prevent the spread of Covid. Surgical masks are only slightly better. N-95 masks are the only masks which significantly bring down risk of spread of Covid, but even they aren't 100% perfect. So, it should be individual's choice whether to wear mask or not. DeSantis fought for people's freedom and he has gained a lot of respect for that. Don't fall into the trap of just seeing things on the surface. Dig deep and try to understand things using your God given brain.
Basically Desantis is bringing back equality based on a person’s character and academic capability. Somehow a small segment of our society decided they didn’t want to be treated equally, they wanted to be treated special. I know so many people who made transitional decisions in their life. Let’s give this a chance because it appears it is going to be very successful and will allow the college to grow dramatically. One of the individuals he wants to appoint to the college board is opposed to teaching racism which we all support. The other individual that was mentioned is the dean of a very successful and respected college. Let’s give this all a chance and see how it works out. We also have to understand that what this Florida governor is proposing used to enforce the equality laws that we all fall so hard to get implemented back in the 70s in the 80s. The college should not discriminate against other students because they might not embrace the views of the college in its present form. This appears to be all good and let’s see how it plays out.

That College has been there years, what was the true purpose of doing this? Is there money a profit or is the land and building worth something? Do they have plans in redoing it down the road to make a profit? Do they think people coming out of that college is mostly democratic? 1. Folks in Florida are young. Most of the population is moving to Florida because of good governance and state's policies.
2. Governments shouldn't poke their noses in healthcare. Please do a deep study what Obamacare did. On the surface, it looks like government's policies on healthcare are good. But in reality, they make things worse. Governor DeSantis knows this and doesn't want to go down the wrong path. You will need to dig deep to understand this. Don't follow what news channels say. Use your own brain and study unbaised research papers.
3. Yes, masks weren't made mandatory in Florida. But please note that Governor DeSantis gave freedom to individuals and parents to decide if they wanted masks or not. Again, please do your study. New York went with full fledged mask mandates and its results aren't better than Florida's. Do you know why? Because cloth masks don't prevent the spread of Covid. Surgical masks are only slightly better. N-95 masks are the only masks which significantly bring down risk of spread of Covid, but even they aren't 100% perfect. So, it should be individual's choice whether to wear mask or not. DeSantis fought for people's freedom and he has gained a lot of respect for that.
Don't fall into the trap of just seeing things on the surface. Dig deep and try to understand things using your God given brain.

Basically Desantis is bringing back equality based on a person’s character and academic capability. Somehow a small segment of our society decided they didn’t want to be treated equally, they wanted to be treated special. I know so many people who made transitional decisions in their life. They didn’t wear this like a badge on their chest, they are people like everyone else and didn’t want to be treated special. Same with gays, I’m one, and other groups who wanted to be treated as a person, and didn’t wave a flag or sport a rainbow shirt expecting or demanding to be treated special. Every person is the same, part of the same species. Not one person should be placed on a pedestal and treated like they are above everyone else. I recommend people become a little more educated, particularly on race. Race was created by a white social scientist in 1700s Europe and is not a naturally occurring biological phenomenon. We are all the same.
Equal rights for all. Not just for your people but for all people. Race,gender,creed,religion. Equal rights. This man is and will be responsible for starting the next step in the far lefts agenda. Let’s give this a chance because it appears it is going to be very successful and will allow the college to grow dramatically. One of the individuals he wants to appoint to the college board is opposed to teaching racism which we all support. The other individual that was mentioned is the dean of a very successful and respected college. Let’s give this all a chance and see how it works out.
We also have to understand that what this Florida governor is proposing used to enforce the equality laws that we all fall so hard to get implemented back in the 70s in the 80s. The college should not discriminate against other students because they might not embrace the views of the college in its present form. This appears to be all good and let’s see how it plays out.
