  • The New College of Florida held its first board meeting since former Florida Education Commission Richard Corcoran was voted in as the interim president as part of a statewide overhaul at the Liberal Arts College. I was there for his first public words in his new role and the board's first actions under his leadership, which included abolishing the school's diversity office.

Progress in disfiguring an open environment of academic inquiry into a hostile haven for nepotism and grifting. Let's make this public tax paid institution only for wealthy white athletes. Who cares if it's the honors college for the state of Florida. Let's replace the academic reputation with baseball (boys only)!

Notice: TH-cam has censored my comments concerning Richard Corcoran's salary and plans. TH-cam seems to allow no diverse comments just like Corcoran.

I'm going to reach out to the new intern Pres. Richard to help him SCALE PBL, and Socratic methods like I had the pleasure of doing with Harvard & MIT's edX platform with over 44+ million students.

Since he saved just over $400k, his net expense for his salary is only $300k!

tit for tat..... Conservatives are always concerned with short term gains and never the precedent created with their actions. This was a very public, partisan power grab that favors conversates now; however, it sets the stage for liberals to do the same. If the goal was to actually fix a perceived issue, it should be approached in a bi-partisan way otherwise we just fuel the fire. But sure, big win for the GOP if your goal is to be short-sighted.
