I could imagine the god of the gods in the first one just going “fuck it” when something happens to her humans that she hates or something else to piss her off and she just rips a hole in reality and lets the dead flood through to fight for her, billions of humanities dead returning like demons with weapons of various eras charging to their next war

By that point, dead humanity would have figured out how to do it themselves, and only held off because living humanity is considered a schoolyard that everyone agrees not to touch. But if someone else seriously threatens that "schoolyard"? Expect the dead to unite and come to living humanity's rescue. But given the tail end of the story, not even the gods could seriously threaten living humanity.
For the first story if humans don’t die in hell I wonder what someone from say Sparta or Roman Legions do with modern foes. Like obviously they won’t stay with the same tech but imagine it. one soul going Spartan warrior born and raised to Industrial Revolutionary Musketeer to modern day Spec ops. These monsters of men would be epic to read about.

Humans being accepted in Hell does make sense, Devils don't have the ability to create so much as they have the ability to manipulate something that already exists. All Demons would then be a result of a transformed Human, like how some Angels are created but some are actually transformed Humans, makes sense.
Seems like the Doom Slayer hasn't yet arrived yet in the first story. Maybe because the game series itself was never a thing in that particular universe. If it was the story would be very very different. Hell would be dealing with an entire and very consistent revolution of just constantly raging an insane humans whose entire concept of Heaven would be the chance to obliterate demons in hell with their bare hands.
