Hi Oliver, great video you really packed a lot into your trip. You'll have passed pretty close by my home on your return to the ferry in Hull. I'm not sure if you managed the road from Penrith to Bernard Castle, a popular biking road in the North Pennines. Anyway good to see you're staying with the 1290, I've just return from my three week 4000 mile trip to Morocco via Spain, my 1290 is now at 19,000 miles so the expensive valve check is due 😢🤣

@@MotoVibes sorry I thought I'd replied, I thought the 1290 was "bullet proof" at least regards the engine. Hello Friend, Nice to meet you.. When you are touring on an adventure, sometimes alone and sometimes with friends, There are times when I see the use of drones by taking shots from above. Who operates it? When traveling do you bring friends or a support team?
Hi - Even if I ride with friends I am the only one operating the drone. In addition to a DJI mavic air 2 drone I also have a second drones for the tracking shots that requires minimal input from me while I ride. The following videos explains this th-cam.com/video/I9ZakT4q-b8/w-d-xo.html
Great video, you captured some of my favourite highlights of the north of Scotland and the lakes. Can I ask did skydio refund you? They claim that drone is "uncrasheable". I wondered how you got such good tracking shots! My dji mavic air 2 constantly loses target during active tracking
Thank you very much 😉 the Skydio is not really uncrashable - it can only avoid what it can see. Small objects like power lines or small twigs are not getting picked up despite the 6 x 4K cameras on this drone. 95% this drone absolutely rocks but it takes some care when flying in the vicinity of small objects.

Hey MotoVives that was a very nice trip. I’m interested to know more or less how much was the total expense of the trip. I would love to do a trip like yours.
Thank you very much. Scotland was on the higher end of the cost scale for me - also had to move the trip back a few weeks as I had the C virus around the time I was initially planning to go which meant all accommodation and the ferry was re-booked right before the trip. Early booking will help get better deals. Some areas in Scotland have very limited accommodation options and when much of them are booked prices up. Ferry from and to the UK was just over 600 euros roundtrip. Single room prices where between 80-150 euros and- averaging at approximately 100 euros a night. Typical meal prices for dinner was 15-30 euros for a main course. I hope this helps- cheers Oliver 😉

Everything is very beautiful, the only question is why to buy adventure motorcycles and ride asphalt. Wouldn't it be more convenient to do such trips with twice cheaper sports tourists?
for me it would be too much riding during the day...400 miles each day is not a holiday to me, i do love motorbikes ok but not 400 a day....perhaps 200 max for me.....for me it is better to not see everything but to spend time in places relaxing and getting to know the area.......i will do scotland this summer but will only plan around a 800 mile round trip in total in Scotland and will enjoy the coast line.....i do not want to tick all boxes and see nothing....i will also do it by myself so no distractions.
It depends - if you are booking your own hotels or B&B it may make sense to book in advance especially as you get up to the highlands in peak season or if you are riding in a group otherwise it may be harder to find affordable accommodation or any at all in certain areas. Don’t forget to bring rain gear 😉 if you want tips on routes and highlights I offer a tour package for Scotland at www.motovibes.de
@@MotoVibes what about petrol ⛽️ are there any stations on the way? Or it’s better to take petrol with us? If we go to ride in the mountains and lakes.

Wow. Recht harte Worte. Wenn du so nett bist gib mir doch konkret ein oder zwei Beispiele aus dem Video mit einem Hinweis wie es deiner Meinung nach besser zu formulieren wäre. Beste Grüße Oliver
It would have been a fantastic video... however... everyone is making MTV hollywood music videos with loud obnoxious music and no natural sounds when riding and talking. Just over kill. Like a woman that never stops talking. Constant nagging. You can only take so much and you have to leave. bye. 🙄
Thank you for your time to provide feedback. It’s interesting as I was trying to use a little less music in some sections for this video which is especially challenging on drone footage as there is no original audio track - so the train viaduct or the boats on Loch Ness are all with added sound design which is very time consuming.
@@MotoVibes More is definitely not better. It seems to be the rage this past year or two. Most are going Ga Ga crazy about putting music in every empty spot they can find. It just ruins everything. I never listen to music or anything when I ride my 94 honda goldwing 1500. Nothing worth listening to excet the engine that I have always enjoyed. Take care. 🙂

What's the make of the Satnav you are using there on the trip ?
I used a Garmin Zumo XT 😉

Thank you very much - saw a lot but did not run into @teapotone this time 😉

Nayese ❤❤❤

on a trip, which is better, KTM or BMW?
They are both equally well equipped for a trip like this - it really just comes down to personal preference 😉
How did you get the drone shots?
I use 2 drones - the tracking shots are recorded with this one th-cam.com/video/I9ZakT4q-b8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=xYJ7Ojo6L3l9TwIV
Wie habt ihr Euch beim Fahren gefilmt- welche Drohne ???

No credit to those beautiful bikes that made this amazing trip possible?
Well. They are mentioned in the title of the video 😉
What year model is the ktm 1290 super adventure R?
This one is a 2020 model 😉
for me it would be too much riding during the day...400 miles each day is not a holiday to me, i do love motorbikes ok but not 400 a day....perhaps 200 max for me.....for me it is better to not see everything but to spend time in places relaxing and getting to know the area.......i will do scotland this summer but will only plan around a 800 mile round trip in total in Scotland and will enjoy the coast line.....i do not want to tick all boxes and see nothing....i will also do it by myself so no distractions.
@@andyMSH700 I think we were closer to 400 km/day - not miles 😉 the good about going solo is that you can pick the duration. Have a great trip 👍
What’s your best tips on booking Scotland trip? What is the most important thing to know?!
@@Onthebackofabike petrol was not an issue for us but it’s good to keep a look out for gas stations in more remote areas 😉
@@MotoVibes thank you 😊
Like from Pakistan
Thank you very much and greetings from Germany 😉👍
i am a biker bmwg650gs i dont understand why 1300cc is necessary for that type of journey i live on the canal and sometimes my 650 is a struggle i have to spin it on the side stand and go down steps ect , when i look at how big these bikes are i just think why , someone plz tell me , ?
This video is not about the engine size or even the type of motorcycle but the journey itself which can be had with any motorcycle really ;-)
@@MotoVibestotally missing the point
Cars have to stop, off road bikes .....!
Truck the f**k 😂😂👍👍
2 "Adventure bikes" that have seen nothing but tarmac. Where's the adventure in that.
There are other trips for that like this one th-cam.com/video/pUupG1rZJjg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=wPolhGIz5-9ZBXjS I do like onroad trips as well though 😉
Nice film guys, but please please study before on the correct pronunciation of the place names, your pronunciation were to be honest terrible.
Sorry for getting it so wrong 😉 to my defense I am not a native English speaker 😉
Take care. 🙂
I couldn't have put it better
@@martinfretwell thank you guys for the feedback. I do have a long playlist of POV video with uncut material and just engine sound 😉 th-cam.com/play/PL8Hxk-UJjuvxVVfJxSXleOiX-zTGObbZn.html&si=JM3gEVXrSNnpVGav
Lot of work put into this video. Very well done!
Dont speak your videos from inside your helmet and dont film your self With helmet it is bad film making.
Nice one! I was in Scotland last year and i miss it every day. One of the most beautiful paces. I wish to go one day on my bike. For now I am in Croatia, Bosna and Slovenia :)
Regards!
Thank you very much. Scotland is spectacular for sure but so are all the Balkan countries. This week the first of three videos on my last Balkan tour will go online 😉 covering those exact three countries 😎
