I was actually named after her. When I was little I always hated my name cause all of the females of my family were named after flowers. I was the odd one out cause my name was Frida. But my mother told me that i shouldn't be ashamed of my name but instead be proud of it. So she showed me frida kahlo and her artworks and also told me she was a latin icon. Now I'm a lot more proud of my name. Not to mention there's not a lot of Frida's in the United States.
Four Joon me too but my mom told me that it was special when I went to the hospital a lady told me that there was another woman her. name was Frida and she was this powerful woman and was Hispanic too I am proud of my name :)
I love love love Frida Kahlo so much I've read and seen everything that has to do with her and I hate the fact that she had to live with so much pain in her life but still remained strong and ugh i just love her and her painting so much
Amazing video! Love the colors and the homage to Frida's incredible look and style. You captured her amazing artistry and her Mexican pride, honoring her roots, such as the Aztec symbolism.p if the heart.
Can y'all please do a video on Maria Felix or as we would call her La Doña! She was a beautiful actress from Mexico, known for her strong character and not letting people push her around. Which was something amazing during a time where Machismo was more prevalent. Please make a video so her legacy will not die down, and also for our Hispanic community to have some else to look up to.
when I was little my teacher had this book and it was abot Frida I asked to borrow it because I was so intristed in the book that l didn't know she was a Mexican icon her art was one of a kind I loved that weird vibe it gave me my favorite paintings have to be the weeping coconuts and girl with the death mask
Lily Pond she wasn't feminist she was very conservative then she just got into Communism to be "unique" and promote her art... I LOVE HER but the people need to know the real FACTS
It’s killing me that they didn’t credit the background music😩 it’s sounds so beautiful and I would love to know what the name of the song is and who it’s done by!🎶🎵 Edit: never mind, I found the music! Music: La Margarita - Peter Koobs
Her paintings were always interesting to me. I was always afraid of hospitals, blood tests etc. and her paintings remind me of this but are so beautiful with the elements of culture and nature. And of course the movie with Penelope Cruz. I recently went to a bookstore and when I was checking out Frida's biography- the lady at the store said that her paintings are going to be exhibited in our city 😯I wonder if that's true, I never would have thought her paintings would travel outside Mexico, to Europe.
Anches. Mi bolvierun a hacer llorar. Gracias, muchas gracias y felicidades.
At a young age frida inspired me. even though i was too small to not understand the meaning of her paintings, i still admire them. Diego rivera inspired me too. I loved art as a child. Id seen my brother draw and would also pick up pencil and paper and draw. My mom would love my drawings and would brag to people lmao.
Today is the anniversary of Frida's death, tell us about your favorite Frida painting or moment!

She was so beautiful, talented, and inspirational. Truly a great role model.
Mr. C the fact of the matter is her beauty came from her expression. If you cannot accept she was beautiful because she broke norms you are incorrect
This is so, so beautifully done chicos. I love Frida. Mexican culture and traditions are so rich and interesting.
Thankyou for the love

Wow. What an inspiring woman. She is a true icon.

Now I'm a lot more proud of my name. Not to mention there's not a lot of Frida's in the United States.
Four Joon Frida is a German name ...not Spanish or "Mexican"
Eleazar Becerra she didn't say it was a Mexican name she said she doesn't feel ashamed because Frida was a Latin icon.
Four Joon me too but my mom told me that it was special when I went to the hospital a lady told me that there was another woman her. name was Frida and she was this powerful woman and was Hispanic too I am proud of my name :)
