Frida is an icon. Not just a famous, accomplished, legendary painter but a fashion icon as well. This was on full display at an exhibit at The Brooklyn Museum just last year.
I wouldn't say spectacular as much as moving and inspiring one to reflect. Knowing the difficulties of her life it seems this must have been a great relief for her to be able to be here and forget some of her troubles and the outside world.
My childhood was spent in Coyoacan, perhapssixblocksfrom Casa Azul and half a block from the Trotsky house. I recallthe house being inactive but then the renovations started. I first remember the exterior as white/gray and it was astonishing when the blue paint was was resored. My childhood friend and I happened to drop by just as it was opened as a museum and we were allowed to tour. My most vivid memory is the kitchen.
Thank you for this great tour. Thank you to the wonderful, warm and informative narrator (who? Mr S Fry?). This home was everything for Frida from her birth to her death…..such rich and incredible spaces…….despite being in incredible pain she lived to the her fullest and as creatively as she possibly could. I loved looking out the massive windows of her art studio……a vertical garden adorning the walls with beautiful textures and forms and all the richness and history of the Mexican sculptures. The kitchen 🔥🔥🔥and the bed where she would have spent resting and recuperating and painting❤️❤️❤️ What a beauty she was.
Love all the colorful collections I'd love to live in a house like that! She'd cringe if she saw the homes now gray and neutral colors ... her decor pops everywhere.
A pleasure to see the house that meant so much to Frida Kahlo and that was such a part of her life. --- This may be off-topic, but I'm curious if there are any recordings of Frida Kahlo's voice: maybe a radio interview or an appearance in the early days of television or maybe she was in a newsreel.
Frieda and Diego’s love was like Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, like Romeo and Juliette, like the love of a twin flame connection that the only way to escape is through death on earth. ✨❤️🔥✨✨💔
You didn't mention the pain she was in the rest of her life was from a tragic accident involving a bus and a streetcar when she was just18 years old. After that was why she had so much pain the rest of her life it wasn't various illnesses. A metal rod had gone through her body before that she was ok.
Do you realize what you were seeing in the black and white photos! I think not...! Common sense tells me those were inside her home......! No Bullshit Here, just a bit of GOOD OLE,HORSE SENSE,OLD GIRL.....! Have a great day...!
SOOOO,you did get a look inside the home, already telling off on yourself Ole Girl,so now you are saying you have seen the inside....! Hum, made up your mind Ole Girl,to tell the Truth...! Now you have become a critic of ones personal space, the inside of ones home, is their Castle, as people say...! Get yourself together Ole Girl, her home made her Happy and gave her a sense of Security,as it should be..! Enjoy your home space,as you should Ole Girl! Have a great day!
Remarkable! Frida is at rest at home! Beautiful..!
I adore Frida’s art, love of animals, and her spirit.
Yes, the kitchen is fabulous, the yellow floor!
I think so too!

She was blessed to be born in, live all her life in, die in, and be interred at one home. Diego was good not to interfere with that
It is so beautiful and calming. I loved being there.😊
It really is!
Great job with this video. You did a very good job explaining.
Glad you enjoyed it!

This meant so much to me! Thanks!
I might go and paint ALL MY POTS TOMORROW.
Also she stated, "I suffered two serious accidents in my life, one in which a streetcar knocked me down, the other accident was Diego."

Was there a long wait for the Frida Musuem?
there seems to be errors in this, with the home she and Diego built mixed in with her family home, and photos of Laurent's garden in Marracech

I did not get to take a look at her home! All you showed was the garden.
Be respectful Susan, you must have dosed off while we got to see the home!
@@TommyWalker-eg7ub BS. I watched the whole thing. All we got to see was the outside and garden.

@@TommyWalker-eg7ub Do you have a psychiatrist? If not, you need one.
