    I’ve been dealing with a brake squeak for so long now. No one can tell me what’s going on, all new parts . It’s driving me crazy

    Thanks, Sue. I can’t even express how much I appreciate you for this! You’re the only one I’ve seen showing how to do this job while actually showing the way it’s supposed to be. Others show an idealized install where you just “replace these” and “grease that” without actually saying how it’s all supposed to work together so you can see the pitfalls yourself without bad experiences. I will have my wire brushes ready when I tackle this the first time. :) None of the others I watched even made me aware of the reasons I might want them.

    Sometimes people hit or move the backing plate and that can cause rotor noise ... or they install the hardware a bit off make sure it's leveled and in the correct placement a bent hardware piece can scrap the rotor and make sound aswell.

    Regardless of pad choice, put a little anti-seize on the back of the pads were they come into contact with the calliper it stops the high frequency vibrations.

    • @adrenalinehigh2070

    • @TheCreateOutdoors
      @TheCreateOutdoors ปีที่แล้ว +8

      You actually want to use caliper grease, not anti seize. And you want to put it on the caliper piston.

    If you're in the rust belt put the caliper brackets in bench blaster. Then caliper paint to stop the rust. Otherwise just by new from 1A Auto

    I tried finding a front wheel hub assembly on your site and all it showed me was the rear for a 2012 ford focus. All I need is 1 stud because it broke but they (ford) said I need an entire hub since they don’t fix just the stud so I had to order from some place else 😩.

    Here's a tip for when you know everything is good with your brakes and rotors, yet there is still screeching, even when not braking:
    Check the back plates on your pads and make sure the sections that hook on to the brake pad aren't bent outwards, even if it's just barely. Take the plate off and bend it in a little bit, put it back on, put everything back together, and the screech/squealing should be gone.

    Whatever you do don't do what I did I replaced Brake Pads only Rotors looked good to me but I was wrong my rotors were junk thus my brand new brake pads became junk as well all because I pad slapped my car and didn't take the time to replace the rotors as well thus I started to have squealing coming from my pads wearing unevenly against my old rotors

    Hi, I need your help with this automotive question on front brakes. This mechanic had replaced brand new oem toyota front brakes that I brought online at a toyota dealership and I am hearing squeaky noises while stopping. He became very angry that I brought my car in the morning. He forgot that he told me to bring my car in to check it out then he screem at me that and it could be my brand new brakes. Can you please help me deal with mechanic that he is trying to rip me off. He has been in business for years but very manipulative in completing his jobs for me. What should I do regarding this shadie mechanic? Any help would be appreciative.
    Thank you, Larry

    Never buy pads from the orange/red place all parts are sourced from China. Organic pads make a lot of dust and wear out faster but are the quietest as they are the softest. Semi metallic my favorites make dust wear the rotors faster but stop the best they bite hard. Ceramics cost the most low dust low noise but don't stop good unless pads are hot so more of a track pad. Make sure to use minimum lube on the slide pins and piston calibers. Using lube on pads is rookie mistake.

    Imagine engineering the brakes with complicated electronics that need to be reset with special tools just for it to still brake poorly and wear unevenly. Maybe the engineering is not the problem, but the maintenance. 🤪

    I have a question - I have an Audi a5 and my pads and disc were changed recently, after the change with new breaks & discs I heard a screeching sound when driving but disappeared when breaking. When I took it back to the garage they did everything again and reset everything, the screech had gone but I noticed both rear wheels were RED HOT!! I took it back to the garage and paid £800 for two new callipers, drove it 8 miles checked the alloys both red hot!! I drive back to the garage and they took it all apart, reset everything again, and still got red hot!! It went back in and both sides had new flux hoses and I’m over a £1000 pound down, new break pads and discs I paid for costing £700 and I still have the same problem !! The garage is acting shady and have no clue what’s wrong with it as everything apparently is in working order !! I’m now booked into official Audi garage and before any maintenance I’m waiting 6 weeks before I can use it to get in and £159 just on a diagnostic!!! I’m nearly on the £2000 make in money and still got the same problem!!
