Just found your videos. I'm getting ready to replace the rear drum brakes on my '94 Chevy Van G30. I watched a few others, which were either vague and poorly shot, or just not very user friendly. Then I found yours, and was very happy to see that they were full of information, delivered in a natural, helpful way, including the right tools needed for each step, tips on things to do to extend the life of your brake job, keep the brakes from squeaking, etc. For me, this group of videos was exactly what I needed to help me take on this project with confidence. I'm actually looking forward to it now! Thank you !!

@emigrate Yet again, the pot is calling the kettle black! Worse yet, you do t even know if the Aussie fan is a kettle. You have no idea what ethnic group tho man identifys with. He could well be of Aboriginal decent. Would you consider giving this man a public apology? If you did apologise, it would be nice. ;)

My wife's 2007 Honda Fit had 4 wheel disc brakes. Her 2018 Fit has drums on the back. But thanks to another video of yours, you set my mind at ease by saying that it's the front brakes that do the majority of the work. This summer I will blow out the drums. Thanks for the info.

Better to change the fluid than to replace the lines. Fluid sucks up the water causing the rust.
Then again if you replace a brake line you need the replace the fluid anyway.
Worst case scenario: You do brakes, lines, fluid and then store the car. 5-10yrs later when you want to drive it again you will most likely need to replace lines/fluid/seals again.

Thanks for the tips Scotty and love your videos!! I remember when you were on TV in Houston waaaay back when, I think on Channel 11. It was the only reason I watched the news as a teenager, was to wait for your segment. Back then, we had no cell phones, no internet and no computers, so we had to figure out on our own, or from older guys, how to work on our hand-me-down Jalopy's. I'm doing a brake job on my '17 F250 today and was trying to find out why the new Ford Rotors have a grey coating on them. That search led me to this video. Long Live Scotty!!!
