    Reminds me of something Alan Watts said in one of his lectures and it reminded me of the collective consciousness.
    A few great quotes from him that I think sum it up well -
    "Every one of us is, actually, a pinhole through which the fundamental light-that is, the existence itself-looks out. Only, the game we’re playing is not to know this. To be only that little hole, which we call “me,” “my ego,” my specific “John Jones,” or whatever.

    "Every one of us is an aperture through which the whole cosmos looks out.
    "
    "You know, just like mountains stick out of the earth and there’s a fundamental Earth underneath them, so all of us, as different things, we stick out of reality and there’s a continuity underneath.
    "
    Another great vid btw Foolish Fish thanks for taking time to make these its really something special!

      Spin around, like a whirling dervish, clockwise (yin in the southern hemisphere/yang in the northern hemisphere) or counterclockwise (yang in the southern hemisphere/yin in the northern hemisphere). Chant any of these mantras 3 times each while facing east, west, south(in the northern hemisphere) or north(in the southern hemisphere): "iao", "iaueh", "ieoah", "aum", and "om". Sleep with your head placed east, west, south(in the northern hemisphere) or north(in the southern hemisphere). Play music tuned to fibonacci sound frequencies: 1(256hz), 3(384hz), 5(320hz), 13(416hz), 21(336hz), 34(544hz), 55(440hz), 89(356hz), 144(288hz), 7(448hz), 33(528hz), 54(432hz), 88(352hz).

    I had the greatest difficulty climbing the tree until I envisioned myself as a monkey. In Yesod I ate purple plums and could taste them. In Hod were oranges and kumquats. In Netzach was a tarty lime like Venus and green apples which I left uneaten. In Tiphareth bananas and lemon zest. In Geburah was the humble strawberry. In Chesed blueberries. In Binah was Guinness to give me the strength to get to the top. And through the clouds of Chokmah I saw only light and all was bliss. But even bliss gets boring sometimes so I climbed back down realising bliss can be anywhere.🙊🙉🙈

I’m not saying “no books” but my entire house is books and my shed is bursting with books and I do wish I’d made use of an online library or ebook download for a good deal of them, particularly the fiction (although there are some that I treasure having as a hard copy like my symbol sourcebook, but the few books you cherish have less chance of getting lost in a tidal wave of pages if you collect books carefully) 📚 ✌️

    Lovely way to put into words the reality of unified consciousness, yet the apparent illusion of individual separateness. Something of note and perhaps ties into more recent videos is how these paradigms for experiencing reality are but arbitrary (given the number and variety of systems of experience), but are important as they stabilize the relativistic individual awareness at a level closer to nonduality or conscious gnosis without entirely diminishing the ego. Constant conscious nondual awareness has a strong tendency towards experiential inaction and indifference, yet also being the place of maximal magickal praxis. On the other hand, relativistic or egotistical awareness has a reciprocal tendency towards deterministic unconscious cycles of action. So in essence, these paradigms are like a life preserver keeping awareness on the liminal surface between flying above and drowning below an ocean.
    On a related note, a video on personal solipsism would be interesting!

    • @FoolishFishBooks
      @FoolishFishBooks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      AH! Yes! I love your take on the effects of each mindset counteracting the tendencies of each in diametrically opposed ways. I'd never thought about it like that. The more magic you have, the less inclined you are to use it, the more inclined you are to use it, the less you have XD Perfect self-preservation in action!

    • @RobAgrees
      @RobAgrees 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@FoolishFishBooks agreed, and if you practice nonduality continuously, you'll find that things manifest quite easily, both bad and good, without mental discipline. The advantage I find also with these systems is they put a lock and key on the gnosis state so as to prevent haphazard manifesting, but requires its own mental discipline to implement these empowering belief structures of course.
      I'm curious if you've read into any of Advaita Vedanta texts or Hindu philosophy texts? They sort of deal with the ideas of belief, consciousness etc, devoid of symbolic systems of representation, though more slanted towards renouncing material reality. Sort of the first chaos magicians if you will haha. I'm happy to make some references if you like, the texts are pretty short and straightforward.

    Excellent video. This video is very informative in understanding the practical uses of the Kabbalistic Tree. From watching your videos, I'm inspired to do some pathworking and skrying. I have not done any of this, but I have been working with creative visualization, past-tensing and future - tensing. And yes, the Israel Regardie book, Garden of Pomegranate is a MUST have for anyone studying magick and the occult. It is my all time favorite reading, not just studying.
    If you're having problems with visualization, you can read this book several times over again, slowly envision each section, each paragraph , slowly at your own pace. You may have to read and marinate on a sephiroth for some time. Re-read the stories and imagine yourself experiencing them as you take your time with it. It is a great book and sometimes I pick a section to read right before going to sleep.

    I've really struggled with the tree of life and how to effectively use it, I have learned so much from your videos. I tried something new this past spring and feel like it's worth sharing and would like your opinion. This year I performed a ritual which was been tremendously helpful in understanding the tree of life, it's called "Counting the Omer" and takes place between Passover and Shavuot in the Jewish tradition. This is a stretch of 49 days, each week deals with one of the 7 lower sephirah starting with chesed (loving kindness) as week 1 and how we relate that to each of the 7 sephirah (it's nested). For example: week 1 day 1: chesed within chesed (the aspect of loving kindness in loving kindness), week1 day 2: gevurah within chesed (the aspect of restraint within loving kindness) and so on. It really helped me understand how to think about these paths in a brand new way. I used the book A Spiritual Guide to the Counting of the Omer by Rabbi Simon Jacobson.

I firmly stand by the fact if you know and apply just the basics of path working, meditation, and visualisation you can pretty much drive your own dreams. I'm still very new to occultism; it has been approximately two years since I started taking all this stuff seriously. I feel symbolism has been the most effective way in which the Tree has influenced my life so far. Said symbols are encountered in dreams, trance, and synchronicity in daily life. There have been many decisions I have made in response to such occurrences, and they have turned out quite well in both the long and short term. Israel Regardie's ''The Middle Pillar'' has been especially helpful in my journey so far. This is a good video. Quite a bit of what you said may have been a little too abstract for my neophyte mind to grasp, but if there's one thing I learned from watching this is that I have to take up visualization as the next skill to develop on my path. Thank you and Godspeed.

One curious thing that I’ve noticed, and I’m not sure if you have an opinion on this, is that while I was chasing the light as a child in a Christian household I found nothing but darkness and suffering, but when listening to you and others who work also with what I would have called darkness before has actually shown me the light. I'd also add Geomancy to the discussion as a great tool for divination, quite similar in output to the IChing.
    i discovered this through the 'self initiation to the golden dawn' book, and it can be 1 - a very basic / quick system - taking a minute for a basic reading. 2 - a rather deep and complex process involving astrology and planetary aspects giving a much deeper reading. Brilliant - i recommend it, at least for the purposes of interest and comparison.

I then obtained all of their other Magick books -- this was way back before the internet so that was no mean feat! I must admit that I never really was able to tune into anything other than their astral projection book. The rest just bounced off of me for some reason but I've always felt there must be some wisdom in there somewhere that I'm just missing. It warms my heart to see a book by them in your video :)

    Your explanation of categorisation resonates with me, but from a different angle. While studying the planets and astrological meanings / intents, one can also become acquainted with the emanations from each planet - e.g. This red scissors has Mars in the blades and in the colour of the handle, has Saturn in the metal and weight, has Venus in the shine / glint from the metal. I guess thanks to your video and explanation I can see how one can relate or associate these emanations further with the tree of life. BTW would recommend 'The Greatness of Saturn' by Robert Svoboda as a great read on the Mythology of each planet, and in particular the Greatest of them all ;)

    One thing, I-ching is pronounced as ‘yi-Ching’. ‘Yì’ is a deep Chinese character that carries both the meaning of ‘simplicity’ and ‘change’ that has no direct way to be rendered into English. On the one hand it presents you with the pattern of the cosmic order, while on the other it alludes to the ever-changing nature of this pattern. I guess the concept of ’易‘(yì) could be approached by thinking it as the emanation of the ein sof, which the latter corresponds to ‘道’ (Dào) in Daoism.
    And in general there are three surviving branches to study 易 yì. 易经(yì jīng/I-Ching) being the sort of records and philosophical initiation of the trigrams; 易传 (yì zhuàn) is the in depth philosophical works--arguably written by Confucius himself--of interpretation and exegesis on the meanings of the trigrams; 易纬 (yì wěi) is the books of divination, the ultimate practical guidebook that is used to perceive the future based on the trigrams of I-Ching.

    Ok, I can give a meaning for the actual use of the tree of life (out of many uses), but this would be the main use of the tree as it's used in the orders and lodges. The tree of life is in fact a scale of the universe as it is seen in its powers (microcosmic) and a map of not only the cosmic scales, but also the minute and within the singular consciousness (the microcosmic scale);(being that the same laws and powers work on the higher and lower scales of the universe (as above so below). This means that the laws that work in the absolute largest scale and in higher realms also work on the lowest scales, even within the movements of the atoms, in more minute when considering what makes up an atom. But in the schools we consider those same powers as the faculties within consciousness. So the sephiroth being the spheres of activity within our consciousness and the paths (the 22 paths) being the powers within consciousness themselves.
    It shows how all things are creating starting from the godhead (Kether) filtering down into manifestation (malkuth) as it goes through its fazes along the path of the flash of aleph (the flaming sword path. In the schools, the tree is used to understand ones own consciousness and the paths from one sphere of influence to another as you are traversing them, therefore working on building the psychic muscles, so to say, of these faculties getting better at them, so that you can work on your active divinity. I say active, because all of this can be used in the real world once understood and embodied (as in the understanding of how creations moving parts work, then you can move them.). In most western mystery schools, the spheres can be considered as degrees of criteria (meaning points of ignition) where all of the understandings, and subtleties must be mastered in order to understand how to attain the next sphere in order to master it. So in order to master Netzach, for instance, all of the facets of Hod must be embodied and mastered and brought under control (concerning the sephiroths virtues, while taming the vices), in order to be able to tame and master Netzach, which must be in turn mastered to be able to understand and master Tipheret...... So on and so forth. The point is toaster the self completely in order to climb the trees corresponding influence within the self, taming and training the body, mind and emotions while you make your way to higher and higher states and eventually towards attaining the state of superconsciousness in Kether and anchoring it into Tipheret. 😉👌Hope that helped someone. I am just tired of seeing all the absolute false information everywhere on the internet. The blinds that were placed by past masters worked very well.... Back when blinds were placed, this was a necessity, but the times on the earth have changed and there is a need for everyone's awakening.
    But here's the thing.... You will never be able to use the glyph adequately without joining a school because of the absolute complexity of the human psyche and the laws of the universe. This path has been worked on and figured out by past individuals all throughout time to figure out how all these things work, so that you don't have to meticulously check everything in reality and spend ten thousand years figuring it out yourself. You're more than welcome to try, but I'm telling you.... I look around the internet for anyone that knows the truths about these things like the inner schools and I don't see anyone anywhere that isn't in a school that knows what these things really are, let alone the correct orders of the symbols and placements, correspondences (even though many on forums and pages claim that they do).... And if you weren't an initiate, then their breakdowns can even look very intricate and convincing.

    I have read Tarot cards for around 29 years YET it is in the last 16 years that with the inclusion of the 22 different journeys between the sephirot, each journey is represented by a HIGHER ARCANA/higher secret card, of which there are 22 cards. I can see the representations to the three pillars in the artwork and the Rider Waite deck is best for seeing the tree of life in working action and all its stories and scenarios we are all capable of living out and acting out. Plus also having meditated with each of the 78 cards and installing or recording the message into the card, energy in thought stored in the card is meant to be picked up by the left hand as the right brain controls the left body, it is the sensitive and intuitive side of the brain which chooses the cards. Left hand = Read head and Right hand=Write head. Never allow people to take your cards in their right hand. Serious knowledge and energies in all the creative vessels and the journeys between them from one to another in any direction teaches us PATH WORKING and more

    I use the tree of life to shower, using the tree's association to body parts:
    First I wash my hair, (Kether.) Then my face, (Chokmah, Binah.) Then I get both arms and armpits at the same time, (Chesed, Geburah.) Then I wash the main body, (Tiphareth,) and the legs afterwards, (Netzach, Hod.) Then I wash the junk, (Yesod) and finally the feet (Malkuth.) Only then do I clean the dirtiest part, the rear, which I like to think of as Daath, although not technically correct.

    as you were describing the method of pathworking the spheres my mind immediately jumped to kundalini rising.. i wonder if it might be similar or the same thing? and then also recently my mind has been on the theory about the moon being hollow and an installment by ET in the mars galactic war timeline.. and then it made me think about how that theory could be true because in esoteric teachings, the tarot for example, i always wondered why the moon card represents illusion. but it makes sense if the moon is an actual illusion. a device placed for whatever reason to set in in place (foundation) our earth's 3d matrix - the trappings of karma and reincarnation. and this all makes even more sense now when i went to read up again about yesod.. and how our root chakra and foundation is ruled by the moon. ive never done pathworking with the tree of life. but i would imagine breaking through the 1st sphere yesod would mean to see that our 3d reality is literally an illusion from the influence of the moon........ sorry just leaving this mess here lol thanks for reading.

    Regarding the last part: When it comes to mysticism, I see Tiphareth as being that experience of Illumination and awakening to the 'I Am'. Crowley wrote about the Holy Guardian Angel (HGA), which is the 'friend' who has always been with you, and now has been found. DA'AT (not on you'r particular tree) is the Abyss or Void one passes through on the later stages of Enlightenment. There you'll have to leave your HGA and become one with God or the Universe, which is the end of your last identity, that of 'I Am'.

    I just got into your videos, very good very interesting. I was thinking about the last bit, where u say you couldn't stop "categorising" and needed singularity a point where u stop. Than found one and you said you couldn't place it in any category. You also talked about the "top 3" of the tree are hard to understand they're very abstract especially the very top one. U also mentioned u haven't experienced that part properly yet (if I'm right). From all this information my conclusion would be that, when you found that point u couldn't categorise, and managed to calm your mind, it could be the very top sphere of the tree.?
