    When i recieved my 66/80 kit i noticed the sprocket chrome steel, look nice ? I took the chain out of the plastic bag and lay the chain on the sprocket, it fit in the teeth 1/3 of the diameter and started to climb out of the teeth. I inspected the chain with a magnifier, and it was new, and unused, although it appeared to be stretched. So, i tried a 40-41 chain, that didn't fit right either. Always inspect your stuff right out of the box, rather than working hard, only having to undo everything. I'm sure i'm not the only one that have to buy a new sprocket, and maybe a chain also. Another thing, i removed the cylinder head and found a ring of black hard substance in the bore area that break like glass. I'm sure if i didn't inspect it and clean it out, it would had scar the cylinder and damage the piston. Result of bad quality control.

      Amen.Inspect. I've had some sprockets needing filing down to round the teeth for the chain to fit

      I didn't have with my rag joint or sprocket it was a a oblong hole in my tensioner bearing when holding it in my hand playing around with it I could see it was going up and down on the bolt

    I've had the issue where I have to make the hole in the sprocket larger to fit over the hub, after that it's a nightmare to get the sprockets centered, get it the best you can, feels like it's almost impossible to get it 100 percent centered.

  • @MikeNBikes

    Please read this.
    While an uncentered sprocket will cause this, it also has to do with compression.
    I have a mag wheel and bought it because of honestly the pain it is to deal with rag joints, I use M6x40mm bolts as they're longer and make it easier, but it's still a pain.
    The mag wheel's hub spins perfectly straight, brand new sprocket. I would have a tight and then loose chain, and I figured something out.
    When the piston is reaching TDC, the chain gets more tight. I asked someone this to try it on there bike and they said the same thing. While separately an un-true sprocket will cause this, it's also something not completely avoidable.

      Drive sprocket is uneven. Mark it at tdc and then remove it, I guarantee what you’ll find is that it wasn’t cut properly. A round file and some carful hand work will solve that problem.

    • @MikeNBikes
      @MikeNBikes 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@OrneryMouse Good idea but that isn't the issue. Most people do not recognize it because they run chain tensioners. Yes, if you have drive chain problems that will have an affect. Assuming everything is okay regarding that, you have a natural tight spot in the chain, but most won't realize it.

    Also unless u really need one you should just make the chain the proper size only use these if ur build really calls for it otherwise just fit it proper and don't use one at all ☺️

    • @HughesMotorized
      @HughesMotorized  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Clutch is stuck. Pull in on clutch and shove bike forward and slam your butt on the seat pushing bike forward. Clutch should pop loose

      Or you havent pulled the cable through tight enough, it needs to go way back when you pull.

    I have my sprocket installed where my rear disk brake used to be. I only break with the front with no issue.
    The 6 holes matched. Don't use the screws that were in the disk brakes. Get some stainless steel M6s (6 millimeters) hex key screws and you will be good as gravy!

    The real simple trick is when mounting the rag joint to wrap the HUB of the wheel with electrical tape until it has built up th diameter of the hub enough to coincide with the diameter of the hole in the sprocket.
    This will give you perfect runout.
    You don't want to put so much on that it's tight just slightly snug, and by leaving the tail of the tape hanging out, it can be removed when finished.

    No, No, Noooo. 1st & foremost get rid of that sprocket, and replace it with one that only has 3 bolts. The sprocket your using that comes with the kit is junk. You have too make sure it's centered. The one I have automatically centers itself.

    • @HughesMotorized
      @HughesMotorized  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I save on the money. I've built 100s. ZERO issues w/ my rag joints. Just have to follow some steps in setting it up is all. Besides, I'm cheap. peace.

    • @aaroncraig2250
      @aaroncraig2250 ปีที่แล้ว

      No no no hub adapters the sprocket with 3 bolts are junk impossible to keep from slipping on anything but a coster brake unless you weld it to the hub. rag joint is the best way, just learn how to install it right

    • @bassw1758
      @bassw1758 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah hub adapters suggg! They only somewhat work on cruiser bike Wheels, and even then they eventually they end up destroying the hub by denting it. The best way to do it if you're not using the brake mount is just one rag joint on the inside metal-on-metal on the outside, concave part the sprocket facing out words. Then you get better hardware from the hardware store I like to use 6mm Allen bolts with nylon locking nuts. That's the best way to do it. 9 bots are always going to be sturdier than 3. The metal that the spokes are made out of his harder then the metal that the sprocket is made out of, so the spokes will indent it to the sprocket when tightened down making it like one piece, so it won't pull on the spokes the way using two rags does something.

      I don't know what your bullshit state law says but it's a constitutional right to travel under the due process clauses of the United States Constitution.And The US Supreme Court said in Packard v. Bantan(have to double-check if I'm spelling this other name right) then we have the right to travel on the roads if we're not carrying passengers or property for profit
