    1. Alabasta river is 50 Km
    2. It’s shown on Shakkys map it’s a small island and in the Vira statement he expressly states it’s smaller than alabasta implying it is comparatively small as well

    I haven't done celestial mechanics type stuff in like 5 years. I have been doing engineering physics in college tho for the past 4 years. Seeing you do this made me want to restart doing these type of physics calcs again.
    So decided to try calc the escape velocity of the OP planet. Doesn't really prove anything, but its fun to compare to our own planet.
    Got it calced to 68 km/s or roughly Mach 200. Which is on the low end of massively hypersonic.
    Earth's escape velocity is 11km/s and Jupiter's is 60km/s to put it in perspective.
    I hope you do more videos like this cus they are fun to watch. Also really good editing and overall composition of the whole video, really kept me engaged.

    Ok had to stop at 5:28. The grand line is the equivalent to the equator which is 40k km in real life. Everything after that is irrelevant when it comes to finding the area of a sphere.
    So the OP world is marginally bigger than the real world. Not even going to watch the rest of the video because its unnecessary. You you get anything other than what i said, then your entire process is off

  • @michaeldorsey9231
    @michaeldorsey9231 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    You could scale the planet as being even larger going off the 30 mile/50 km wide Sandora River; not only does that pixel scale Alabasta and the surrounding ocean as being large, but since we can see the opposite bank in spite of the distance that means that the OP planet has a horizon distance of 50 km near sea level.
    We see several times in the Alabasta arc that the characters can see the opposite shoreline in spite of the distance, and since most of the river is sea water (on top of them being able to see the opposite shore at the mouth of the river) even when they’re further inland the river should still be sea level.

    Jupiter has a circumference of 440,000km.
    If you were to circumnavigate that at normal sail boat speeds (~8km/h), it would take over 6 years. If the One Piece world is 3.5x that size, it would take over 22 years.
    The Pre-Timeskip has been cal'c at 3 months long. Roughly half that time was spent traveling. So 1.5 months to cover 1/2 the circumference of a world 3.5x the size of Jupiter. That would mean the Straw Hats were averaging over 700km/h when they were traveling.
    Come on, you can't actually believe the world is that big.
