My thought - nice ad but it lacks photorealism. Looks a little bit like CG. I think you exceeded cycles capabilities. Maybe you have to try Octane renderer. Its spectral abilities are just great and make materials look more photorealistic. When I started using it in blender I was very surprised. And all remarks from that guy were just to the point. About bloom, attaches lights etc. btw final shot is great
@@KaizenTutorials Post work is your friend here, nothing wrong with Cycles, plus doing all these effects in post will give you more creative flexibility. Rendering out some AOVs with emissives, and depth, cryptomattes, etc, you can really transform these renders into a more cinematic and realistic look for sure. if only you had 8.5 hours instead :) Lovely work.
1. Great job creating this in the given timeframe. 2. Nah, it’s not because of the render engine. Yes octane is superior in reflections, but that’s not the main reason here. There are a few things that he pointed out himself to be fake. The attached lights to the car for example. Yes to „fake“ a bit of fill light might be a good idea, but this strong side light really destroys that shot in my opinion. Another big one for me are simple surface imperfections in the reflections. This could be due to to strong denoising. Even in a squeaky clean commercial a stainless steel truck has some broken up highlights. Then the lack of bloom and atmosphere are adding to the fake look as well. I think what would be great is having different artist use the project file with the exact same shots and just change settings in lights and textures and render engine and see how it would differ.
Great video bro! The result Lack in atmospheric effects, camera lenses not felt, camera work is faint.. But in 8 hours this is a massive achievement , very skilled 3d artist
I have done multiple CG commercials for Tesla since like 3 years ago, including Model 3, Model S/X, Roadster, Semi Truck, and Cybertruck (btw using Blender). Two things I learned from working for them: 1. Elon Musk doesn't really like CG, and he kinda hates advertising, although they started advertising quite often in recent years 2. Tesla has very limited budget on marketing, and bcoz of No.1, they spend most of their budget on practical shots instead of CG animation 🙂
Wow thats really cool to know! And yeah that also makes sense. I know Tesla had a hard time making profit so spending tons on money on marketing might not be feasible. Thanks for the input though, appreciate it!
@@KaizenTutorials Yeah that might be the case during the early days of Tesla, but who knows whats going on now, the big boss seems to be very "unpredictable" after he succeeded and got himself into politics... Anyway, nice storytelling walk-through/tutorial video as always! 👍

Insane for the time you have given yourself, but its time to give criticism. You seem to have missed that they want to show it can go far and on a lot of terrain, this is something important from a marketing standpoint. You did instead showed off that is has an electric engine. For a car commercial it feels a bit static, for the intro and outro that is fine, but you want to show the power and strength this car has, so adding some more aggressive action/movement will appeal to the target audience for this vehicle. (If I missed anything someone else will have pointed it out already, keep learning and having fun. Its what you are good at)
I love the outcome and your tutorials! The only thing i would have expected would be some suspension movement/animation as real cars do. This could be done easily with rigacar.
@@KaizenTutorialsI'm with this guy honestly. Amazing video work but the topic is pretty controversial right now. Tesla really messed up bad with the cyber truck. Reported issues of them dying after driving only like 15m, rust is apparently a massive issue, they were very late getting the vehicle out, musk tossed a metal ball through the window to show off how strong it was, apparently the self driving is also just a glorified driver assist that other cars have as well just far less safe. But I didn't tune in because it was tesla or Elon related. The video was absolute fire and you did an amazing job as always!

what i do is get beaming mods. I install the Zip version of them and i import the .DAE File, and your all good! its that easy! :) Its basicly a 100 dollar 3d model with Engine, transmission! Axel! and all models for free! :)
Cool! Yeah I agree. The electric part looks quite CGI in general, but then again I think its ok just to tell the story because it fits the car and looks cool.
Awesome job👍👍💪. The only thing that dropped the realism was the scene with the cybertruck driving, because the camera was moving at the same speed as the car itself, it didn't have any motion blur. Also the speed that the cybertruck was moving felt too slow. If you had used drivers, you could have made the wheel rotation dynamic and have it feel more fitting.
I would have added some bloom and maybe even slight lens flare to the vehicle lights (kinda outdated thing do to nowadays but would still make it look cooler) and lastly there should have definitely been some motor sounds slightly audible while the car was speeding.
@kaizen why use plane lights instead of normal area lights with the same node setup? wouldn't it be better for noise reduction and optimization?? also, could you do some video on the rendering setup, time per frame and noise reduction tips? :) I've been off blender tutorials for a while now, you are the only creator I watch weekly hehe
Good question! And you're not wrong. Using lights would probably have been better. To be honest I didn't really think it through like that. The biggest pro to using plane lights is being able to see the gradient in the viewport, which makes it easier to grasp and visualize.
