The child's almost responded "What happened"cuz it's like an Asian thing that when a person says something they aren't usually saying, it means they're going on hardships in life or they are saying goodbye. I actually experienced life and death situation and during that time I immediately said "I LOVE YOU" to my mom that made her cry a bucks of tears.

I wish my mother loved me. I was raised by my grandmother and my mother never even once hugged me or told me that she loved me, whenever she came to visit. Not once did she try to know me by sitting down with me and just talk with me about anything. So I feel happy when I see other people with their mothers being so close, even if they don't say the words "I love you", actions speak louder. To all the mothers reading this, if you are not raising your child... Remember to always have time to visit them, hug them and tell them you love them. Otherwise they will have doubts about you loving them, your children will end up feeling like me... Unloved and a burden.

I feel like when I have kids teaching them how important it is to express love with words will really make them open up not just as kids but also in their teens and what not. As that can generally dissipate the older you get of course living as a family son/daughter and parents but almost just as roommates.
I've seen the other videos like this from TreeMan and it has made me be slightly more expressive towards my parents to try and break out of that shell of not really showing any affection, and every time I do I feel a vit more happy being able to express my love for my family.

Tbh I would also be sort of concerned if my parents say that although I wish they would say it. Here in China (at least where I am from) Parents are strict and use "tough love" tiger parenting style, put education before mental health, force children to study. I used to think this was normal throughout the world until I discovered media from other countries.

I still believe, even as an Asian kid, that Asian parents are the best...
They don't express their love through words. Their love is expressed through their strict nature, actions, scolds and moreover the consistent hard work they do for their kids.
When a parent commonly says "I love you, my son/daughter", kids don't pay much attention and remain casual. But when an Asian parent says this, it means that he/she is saying this with ALL HS/HER HEART and becomes a really very great day for their kids! The feeling of that particular day makes that kid one of the happiest persons on Earth :)
I believe that SILENT LOVE is felt way more higher that LOVE EXPRESSED THROUGH MOUTH. ;)

You thinking your race are superior than others is racist, and also it’s not a competition…and clearly having asians(parents) not expressing themselves and emotions/feelings have really had negative effect on them, why do you think suicide and mental health is not taking serious over there? because emotions and feelings are not taken serious, so you guys don’t learn to express your emotions properly, you can try to sugar coat it by saying small actions and actions means more, but the fact is….you guys are not in touch with your emotions and feelings and have been taught from little to suppress and hide any of your emotions, hence why asian parents gets labeled by everyone even asians themselves as cold, emotionless and standoffish…which kids just end up copying, but i won’t hold it against you, you’ve probably been taught the same thing by your parents…😉 you can do a million actions….but three little words will always mean more…🤷🏻‍♀️

Some cultures don't vocalize it, you just have to know you are loved by their actions. (My dad)Tell them you love them, even if they don't say it back. Their smile or when their eyes light up is ..I love you too.

I left to study abroad a couple months ago and while my mom said I love you my dad stood there a bit awkwardly. I love my dad and I know he loves me too but we never express it much to each other or if at all. Especially because we cross each other frequently. But even with all that he said I love you too and while it was a bit of a surprise it's something I won't forget
MORE SO now, during this time away he has been very expressive in telling me how much he loves and cares about me. He even gets "mad" if I don't call him

It's strange seeing this being a brazilian. Here we have the habit to say "i love you" to everyone that we love. Mom, dad, brothers, friends... I think that every time that i talk with my mom or my dad we say "i love you" to each other. I hope that the entire world can be like that one day. Express the love to the world is the most beautiful thing. The more you love, the more you'll be loved, and love doens't have an end, it only grow stronger and stronger. Just hug your loved ones and say a lot of "i love you" to them. Normalize feelings. Normalize love. Everyone needs to be loved and love in return.

stress in lives, our daily grind make us complacent in our lives, but it's never to late to tell family members thank you for walking thru this life with us. And the easiest and most effective way is a simple; just say "I love you" for no reason at all. Great video and great reminder to boost a family member's day the best way possible, telling them they are loved, not for what they did, but for who they are to you.

Most asian parents don't say.. I Love You to their children but that doesn't mean that they don't love their children. Asian parents show love through actions like make sure their children eat well and take care of them when they're sick.
That's what I experienced from my own parents. If one day my parents will ever say.. I luv you to me... I will cry for sure because I've been yearning for that ever since I was a little girl.
It's very good that my parents show me love through their actions but I need to hear them say it.. that will make me feel love. 😐

They say I love you when they say "Have you eaten already?" or "what do you want to eat?" That's what I observed with my parents. Their love are so reserved and contained verbally but are always felt. My inay bought me new beautiful blouses back then and later I saw her gluing her own worn out sandal. My papa would give me extra money for my allowance even though that was his last money. They might not say it often but I know that they truly and deeply loved me and my siblings.

I'm 31 and I never say it to my parents in my life and same as my family. The most cheesy thing mum said to me was 'i miss you' when I was away from China and living in New Zealand on my 3rd year. I hardly cry and I cried more than a hour at that time. Now it's my 10th year in New Zealand, because of COVID, I haven't seen my family for 3 years... I'm waiting for the day that two countries open border.

This feels so natural. Despite Asian parents never saying such things. Like it’s meant to be. Like there is no need for them to even say it cause the parent knows deep in their blood, that there is always love for their kids. This makes me really sad. I think I’m gonna cry if my parents do this.
