    My younger brother had severe acne, and we moved to a new congregation in North Carolina and he had a beard to cover it. And they treated him like he used to Disfellowshipped and then that translated to the rest of us being bad associations too. They didn’t even want to share the back room for the book study one night with us there, they said we really don’t have room. But they had enough chairs for all of us.

      That’s just so horrible, they should be asked if they ever heard of the new rules and having beards are okay now. Then read them the scripture that puts these gossiping hypocrites in the same category as every other sin.
      I was so afraid to tell the elders that called me in to the hall to discipline me, because I had no idea what I had said that so terrible that I was publicly reproved , I still to this day know what the hell they were talking about. My husband was there to, but even when a witness drugged me and then told his wife he would meet her at home, I passed out. He had no balls, he never even said anything to the rapist! But my husband was very controlling, he didn’t think that throwing me against a wall is okay, because I WAS TRYING TO GET AWAY FROM HIM. I knew he was escalating, so I was just was going to leave the house and let him cool down. My 13 year old daughter saw it all, I had just spent 4 Weeks in the mental health dept of our local hospital, because I was depressed, but mainly because I I was sick and had to go on long term disability. I was in sever pain, so what he did that night was going to cause me to suffer even more. So back to him dragging me back in the house, several times, he had me pinned against the wall and he screamed for her to call 911, he said your mother has gone nuts again, and she screamed back at him, she’s not crazy YOU ARE! He dropped his hands and went and sat n the couch. It was not his first time. The worst time was when I did try to kill myself, I was at my breaking point, and I took an overdose. My husband knew I had, yet he went to bed because he was tired and needed to sleep, well I couldn’t move once I started to throw up. Then I started bleeding severally and I lost my hearing, I was stupid and had taken aspirin and that’s why. Finally about
      I crawled the 8 or so feet to he bed as he had slept all night. I asked him to take me to a hospital. He yelled at me and then at the hospital he didn’t try to tell the nurse nor press for help. He sat and let me wait 2 hours where I was getting worse, then when a doctor came in the nursat e had judged me and never even took my temperature my blood pressure which haden dropping so low. He yelled at the nurse when he got my results and m family doctor yelled at my husband that if he loved me then he should have showed that but instead he went to bed. The doctor knew he was abusive and he was disgusted with him because he claimed to be a JW, which he knew allot about them. I was in the hospital for two weeks, but my ex had to promise to come in and talk about being a loving husband and father. But he was not going to change, he never listened to any of the advice from the elders. Not even once. I was the one teaching our girls, studying with them every day! Since he wasn’t doing it. But he would count 4 hours, I don’t knmow that, but I was told that only one could count the time, the head of the didn’t ouse! Our youngest baby would not aeven sit on his knee, till after 3 yrs old.
      I jumped a bit ahead, after my attempt, I was called to the hall as the elders wanted to talk to me about what happened! In the end they said I had attempted murder, even if it was myself, being depressed and abused by witnesses while my mom went in service,
      I was publically reproved for attempting to murder myself, my husband was not told anything. They never asked me if I was okay, did I need someone to talk to, not once.
      It just got worse from then on. Eventually he left me because he needed time to figure himself out. So he left me for six months, the day after he went in for private counselling, where he could control the narrative, so he would hear what he wanted to hear. But he could not spend even an hour to help fix our relationship and our family. But I have to say goodnight. I have been sick now for over 28 years, he left me within the first year of being sick. He spent his free time visiting an elder and his wife where he went while I couldn’t even get up out of bed. I didn’t know how bad I was, but it he didn’t believe a word. Because they thought I only had fibromyalgia, and this elder had it too, so of course he told my ex that😮 no it’s not like that. He used to live in Bethal and now he was going to fix our congregation. My husband turned into my ex who had left me, for the second time, and were divorced, finally, but the elder and his me wife had a friend they wanted him to meet, so he was driving to see her on his days off, forgetting he also had a 13 year old daughter, he didn’t even call her for 7 months or more. But then he was told he couldn’t date the very woman they set him up with, no because he told him he was still married biblically to me! Well you know they kept showing up till I angrily opened the door, I had a serious lung infection and feverish but they wanted me at the hall and I told them my doctor said I needed to be in bed. Then he said we meet on another day, and I called them telling them I couldn’t go. He told me if I don’t come they were going to have the meeting anyway. So I asked them to tell me what they decided. But they didn’t. This freeing my ex to marry the woman they set him up with to get him married as soon as possible, because they knew he liked woman and they didn’t want him to come back to m
      That was never going to happen on my part.
      He had told me every time I was sick to go see doctor don’t tell
      him about it.then he’d say I leaving you I can’t this anymore. Or when he felt guilty, he’d tell me that I should find someone who would treat me better. But I was just 16 when I was married off, so I didn’t have an Education.
      The thing is I didn’t stay that way! And he didn’t like that, he hated me getting my drivers license🎉 even more. He was totally different when he was away! He wanted me to wear the least possible clothes, and on our last trip he wanted to spend all his time at the nude beach,
      But when I got my voice, and didn’t ask his permission to work full time. Now I could support myself and finally was free. It’s been so long, he has never said he was sorry, not even now when he knows I am dying. I was never faking it, that was him telling it to himself to justify his lies.

    I was DFd and divorced when my daughter was 6. I had visitation and we never missed a beat. I paid my child support and kept my relationship with my daughter very close. I never tried to confuse her, but I urged her with intent to, at the very least, not get baptized until she was an adult. Somehow, she obliged and didn't do it until she was 18. Within a month of her 18th b'day I received a text from her stating the she was going to give "the truth" an honest effort and couldn't see me anymore. We'd had dinner together only the week before! That was ten years ago. We've never spoke again since the day of that text, to which I replied, "Just always remember, I'm not the one who gave you an ultimatum."

      They never will. They already addressed this by saying "no apology is needed" for "changes in understanding". I'm sorry, I meant "adjustments". The reason they use that word, is because when you adjust something, it's already real. What they are doing and have been doing for decades is flip flopping. No organ transplants, then they're ok. Vaccines are great, then bad, then great again. There's no direction coming from god. They are just a bunch of men, controlling millions of people and always trying to get more. They use fear and high control tactics to trap people, even using their families against them. I wish I wasn't born into this, but at least the pattern stops with me and my family. Critics thinking is encouraged in my home. It always will be.

    I have been watching your videos for 3 years, Lloyd. I really appreciate your work. My journey out of Watchtower has taken me to becoming a Christian. Even though you have landed in a different place for now, I find you a very good teacher in your videos you have done showing why one of the practices of Watchtower is not supported in scripture. In this video, as you took a minute to focus on Gage Fleegle’s show of emotion in response to the experiences about “God’s mercy” regarding disfellowshipped ones returning, my thought as a Christian is that those tears of emotion belong in response to what Jesus did at his death. That is where God’s mercy showed to all of mankind. Gage’s emotion is in response to a tragic situation that Watchtower itself has created by their most unscriptural and cruel practice of shunning people who make mistakes or who choose to leave the group. What they call mercy is appalling when compared to what God’s mercy actually is. Thank you for what you do😊.

    I remember saying to an elder who was questioning me over having a beard and saying it's "wordly." I said, amongst other things, that nobody's "stumbled" by me having a beard, but there are plenty of people stumbled by rules that are not scriptural like not having beards. He thought about it and said I was wrong because I was stumbling myself! Great logic.
    Of course, he has a beard now.

That the skin was obviously not smooth. I asked him about this and he said that he has a skin condition that is not amenable to shaving. I suggested that he grow a beard, and he told me that he's not allowed to.

    As a JW myself of some 30+ yrs but faded, I personally find their complete "about face" on the beard issue both highly amusing and offensive at the same time. I know full well the "soft shunning" treatment dished out to brothers for years who DARED to sport even a short beard or anything beyond a five o'clock shadow. Though it was not "a mortal sin" to have a beard, it was considered very taboo to have anything resembling a beard - except mustaches were allowed for some illogical reason. And the reasons given over the years were basically trollop. Yet because the GB treated this as an unwritten rule, the JW community treated the "offending" bothers almost as pariahs and certainly as "bad associates". Of course few knew the real reason for the origins of this controlling rule. After Charles Russel died, Rutherford manouvered to get the presidency. Being "beard free" himself, one thing Rutherford was noted for was his quiet dislike for brothers carrying beards in the manner of his predecessor Russel and was known to make comments about it. So Rutherford was promoting the clean shaven look and ensured that his underlings followed suit and soon this became an "unwritten" but an essential official element of grooming for brothers. For those brothers who went contrary to this "rule" , they were seen in poor light and would have lost their "privileges" . That they ( the GB) have now gone so obviously to the other end of the scale and are almost appear to be promoting beards as a "mark of maturity" I find it stupidly ironic actually and offensive and the shifty leadership should publicly apologise to the many past brothers who were treated badly. But of course they wouldn't do that. They are not in the business of apologising- but they will announce an "adjustment in our thinking".. until the next time.

    The clip which stood out for me in this crock of sh1t was the man relating that his father had agreed to a study, having been disfellowshipped when the man was just eight years old in 1979. The man was understandably very emotional. He's 53/54 years old now, so he'd probably left home around thirty years ago and as an obedient JW, he's therefore been shunning his father for all this time and his dad is now in his 70s or 80s. Finally, they may resume normal relations - assuming the man does come back to the fold. If his father hadn't returned (as most people won't), they'd have been estranged for life, albeit, with the recent reform that the son might now invite his father to meetings. They've only highlighted what a brutal religion this is. Very touching indeed, Gage Fleegle.

    Jody Jedele is the owner of Tierra Bella Realty in North Carolina. He and his wife Damaris appear to own property in Mecklenburg county North Carolina, they sued a tenant on August 30, 2024 for failure to pay rent . Documents are all online.
    Rent due $1895.00 on 8/1/2024, Amount of rent past due $309.00.
    Jody Jedele sued a tenant for $309.00…… seems petty imo.
    I knew Jody when he lived in Iowa before going to Bethel, I was very young at the time and he was in the neighboring congregation, I dont remember much other than no one really thought much of him, he didnt come from a “spiritually strong” family.
    Anyway, seems like he built a real estate company at some point, maybe he left bethel for awhile to pursue his real estate license and open Tierra Bella Realty, if you notice Losch said he “began full-time service in 1989 and BEGAN bethel service in 1990” to me that isnt saying he has been in bethel SINCE 1990. I suspect he left Bethel at some point to pursue his real estate career and CCIM. This is just a hunch, I have no inside knowledge.
    Thanks for the recap, great video as usual!!!!

They will grow up so psychologically messed up. When I was in the organisation there were no cartoons to indoctrinate children with like there is today. I got out when my children were 13 and 10 and am so grateful I did, but am sorry they missed the enjoyment of Christmas and birthdays in their younger years - they are living happy fruitful lives now with children of their own. Most agents do not get them formally, but do get experience and learning in other ways mostly on the job training at your Brokerage with a Mentor. Destinations are more about proving you had the training in which you say you are experienced. • @B.W-k8k
      @B.W-k8k หลายเดือนก่อน

      @jackijax505,
      No, but I think Jehovah's Witnesses and Latter-day Saints are more similar than they think. JWs' doctrines are more in line with conservative expressions Evangelical Protestant Christianity. Mormonism has doctrines involving a heavenly pre-existence for all immortal souls, the belief in a plurality of deities, the belief that Yahweh (referred to as Elohim and Heavenly Father) was once a mortal man who had to earn his deity status, performing baptisms for deceased persons so that they have a chance at getting into the better place in the afterlife, the belief that humans can attain godhood in the afterlife, the belief that men should be married in religious marriage ceremonies to multiple women; secret rituals in temple buildings where you are assigned a new name that you must give to God in the afterlife etc.
      Mormonism and Jehovah's Witness theology both hold to some theological concepts that pre-date their denominations' existence and their denominational theologies were also highly informed by the historical, political, social and cultural forces of the time period in which they emerged in 19th century America.

    • @B.W-k8k
      @B.W-k8k หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Cat_Woods,
      I think the Mormons' theology is a bit more inventive, though Joseph Smith Jr. took a lot of inspiration from other sources. Charles Taze Russell was definitely influenced heavily by the Millerite-Adventist movement which many Jehovah's Witnesses don't seem to know much about. Evangelical Protestant Christianity as a movement that became popular in the 19th century, I believe, could also be considered as a possible significant influence. I sometimes wonder how, or even if Russell's previous background in Presbyterianism and Congregationalism -- extensions of the wider and more global Reformed Christian (Calvinist) movement -- had any sort of influence, however large or small, on early Bible Student-Jehovah's Witness theology or rituals? Could William Miller, the founder of the Millerite-Adventist movement, could his Baptist background and the Baptist movement's respective theology be considered as a possible indirect influence on the theological thought of the early International Bible Students denomination that somehow could have made its way into the Millerite movement and helped shape the beliefs of those Adventist movement clergy whom Russell came into contact with?
      JW theology is almost kind of bland. The lack of more esoteric and mystical ideas outside of numerology used to apply Biblical prophecy as referring to modern events makes it more boring.

  • @B.W-k8k
    @B.W-k8k หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    As for the stories about former members who've been removed from their congregations returning to the faith, many of them probably don't believe in Witness teachings but want to retain a relationship with their JW family and friends. Many are probably those whom we could call POMI (physically out, mentally in); basically, they still believe in JW doctrines despite their excommunication and may not have questioned their beliefs all that much. That wouldn't be surprising at all. I have little doubt that Watch Tower society's shunning policy has had a difficult impact on Witnesses' emotional and psychological health.
    To see a Governing Body member get emotional, Gage Fleegle Schpiegel in particular -- where is your emotion for those Witnesses who rejected having a blood transfusion and who might have died because of that? Where are your tears for all those closeted, repressed LGBT Witnesses who feel that they're eternally damned to annihilation regardless of whether or not they ever decide to express their sexuality or gender identity who believe that God doesn't love or care for them at all and that they're "better off" killing themselves in this life? Did you all forget that Stephen Lett's own nephew killed himself because he wasn't able to find a way to reconcile both his sexual orientation as a gay man and his newfound atheism with his past experiences in the Jehovah's Witness faith? Where are your tears for those victims of child molestation within your denomination who feel like their congregations and the Society have let them down by not doing more to help bring their assaulter to justice? Where are your tears for those apostates or doubting members who felt they could no longer bear to be alive after they've been told they have lost their eternal salvation, have lost or risked losing their religious community and support network and who had lost or risked losing their relationships with their family and friends?
    I guess it's nice that Witnesses are acting in less robotic, formulaic ways in the new videos instead of having everything be scripted. Most of us know that most JWs don't talk in that robotic, scripted way in their private lives. That Maria Dill woman, it's a bit disturbing how she goes up to a man, was it at an airport, who is morning the loss of a loved one and she immediately starts asking him, "Who died?" and starts with the proselytizing. Maybe she means well, but that's still kind of rude and predatory. Then you have the lady who told a, what was it a cashier? Asked her about her fingernails being painted with certain colors which indicate that she supports anti-domestic violence efforts. The JW woman then starts telling her about her Church's advice on how to deal with this issue -- basically, you need to be a more devout Jehovah's Witness and that'll somehow magically inspire your spouse to stop being an asshole to you.
    The number of Memorial partakers goes up, well, no problem...Jehovah will just reassign your position in the afterlife. Before that, they said Witnesses who did that were either mistaken due to previous religious beliefs making them feel as if they had special status with God if they're a convert, the others were mentally ill, apparently. God, my head hurts...
