"If you don't need the paper, why do you need the title?" 👀 👏👏👏👏 If he isn't your husband, don't give him the honor of being called your hubby. It's simple.
Kanakalala🌺 I personally don’t like the word, it’s so impersonal. I just think of business partner. Also I think married people are holding onto those words because they feel that being married legitimises their relationships.
some people get married without the gov involved b/c the whole point of "legal" marriage is to charge more taxes. they try to punish you if you don't do it this way by stripping you of things like hospital rights if your S.O. is in a position where they can't make an important medical decision, etc. forced manipulation - why do you want the gov so far up your ass? point being, anyone can get married. it wouldn't be recognized by the state but it'd be recognized amongst the couple who exchanged vows and commitment to one another. so i agree with the comments saying, what's the big issue? maybe the better question should be "why do you care so much about other people's lives?"
@@carlah6234 I agree if a couple says they are married or husband and wife who cares if it's on paper or not...many people are getting legally married for personal gain and other reasons. Lot of ppl out there have weddings and paperwork but still aren't committed in any way does that make them more married than a couple who is completely committed and are waiting to save their income to have a bigger wedding or waiting to get a nice ring? Or simply don't want government to have control over their relationship? If a couple that's married legally can be seen as not really married then I think it should be considered if it were vice versa. (Hope that made sense)
My parents have been together for 20 years and have never actually been married but when they meet new people they introduce each other as my wife and husband. I don't think just cause they decided to not have a wedding takes away from the fact that they have put in the work to be"married" they gone through all the ups and downs of a married couple with out the need to be married.
But they are not married so technically they didn't "put in the work" to be married. All relationships go through ups and downs but that isn't the prerequisite for a marriage, nor does it define a marriage. A marriage is the legal union of two people as partners in a personal relationship. Truthfully your parents call themselves husband and wife because once you reach a certain age a lot of people are embarrassed to introduce their significant other as girlfriend or boyfriend. Personally I don't think there's anything wrong with using those titles after a certain age but I know that most find it awkward.
As a single person - I agree with Adrienne - 'If you do not need the paper you do not need the title' I guess as a christian - 'marriage' is 'marriage' To jokingly say 'work husband / wife' - is okay - as you know it is platonic etc. Tamera cracked me up though with her - 'Hell no':) Loni's point on 09:36 - 09:47 - was SPOT ON! I've been living with my boyfriend for 7 years we have a daughter and I call him my boyfriend... my baby's dad but never husband... I take titles very seriously. Just like marriage.
That wouldn't be weird if u called him husband after all those years cause realistically their is a thing as common law.. But a few months then that is just a boyfriend
They probably didn't know this at the time, but the judy/gay best friend thing is kind of offensive, gay men shouldn't be talked about like straight women's pets
I say no especially if you have helicopter parents... omg my dad tries to follow me on everything and it gets annoying when he stalks my Instagram or TH-cam to see what I am up to. It makes me feel like I have no privacy and that they are still trying to hover me🤦🏻♀️
I had to block my aunts, cousins, uncles and even my friends that are a little too comfy with my family just to go incognito from my dad. He literally stalks me through other people. It's weird
Exactly and why would you be searching ur kids room. That is soo UGH like why? Bcz its ur house? Then wonder why kids hurry to leave so fast, its because there's no respect for their space and privacy
"my frenn.. we are not age mates" - said every African parent. I said this to my dad after he added me on Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram 😂😂. He cancelled his requests
My parents are notoriously known for creeply stocking on social media. I've seen my dad look up the profiles of people commenting on other relatives posts. I've also had family members trash my name behind my back for things they assumed from seeing my social media. Not gonna open up that door.
*hell nah, my family is far too judgmental & i don’t got time for judgment. also: don’t stalk your kids. that’s like checking someone’s texts to see if they’re cheating. what you seek, you shall find* 🤷🏾♀️

My boyfriend and I have been together for 7 years. Lived together for 6 years like a married couple. I call him my boyfriend or "Samboer" in Norwegian, witch literately translates co-habitater. It means even though we’re not married, we are in a serious co- living relationship. It’s pretty normal here.
Coming from a Hispanic background, any couple that lives together as bf/gf they are assumed married by their families, when my husband and I (we are legally married lol) first moved in together, our families all started saying “well y’all married basically” and stuff similar but we still called each other bf gf to other people
I agree with Adrienne for the most part, you definitely should be your true self around your parents! Adrienne seems like the type to say that her mom is her best friend. Personally I’m very close to my mom but I know that she is my MOTHER not my friend. Also, there are some things that you just do not need to be sharing with your parents💀 like let’s say you’re 20 years old and you want to post a cute photo of you cuddling with your S/O, you most definitely would not want your mom to see that because it would lead up with a conversation of “why are you posting this in your page for everyone to see your business” blah blah blah. There are certain levels of privacy that you’re allowed to have without being in-genuine to your true character! Needless to say, go ahead and use your right to add/block however you see fit!!!
steph101 Well, you have the privilege to do so. I am never really my true self around my family. Because they would probably judge me and question things I would say. I only act myself in front of my boyfriend and friends.
I do believe in give and you receive what you give back. When I was about 7 I was at the supermarket with my mom and I saw a lady and a dollar fell out of her pocket and without thinking it I picked the dollar, tapped the lady and told her that a dollar had fell out of her pocket and the lady thanked me but she said that I could keep it for being so nice and kind hearted.I will never forget that day and every time I do something for a person and not expecting something in return or even if that person did me wrong in the long run im the one that always ends up better than that person in the end
I “stalk” my mom on Instagram more than she does me lol 😝 She posts pictures of my dogs and the crafts she makes. And since I’m underage, my mom followed me before I deleted my Instagram. I didn’t post things I wouldn’t want my mom, father, and future bosses would find inappropriate.
I can honestly say I now my mom she was ok with not following me or being a helicopter parent... I don't follow her she don't follow me we have two different lives, what's her business is hers what's my business is mine ...because she knows her child and that comes with knowing what I would and wouldn’t post... it’s called trusting your child... I understand if they’re like a tween or underage but as far being high school age there should a conversation / compromise on what works for both parties... some parents won’t follow their children but will instead do a check in and look at their phone to see what they’re doing on social media! It all depends on the parent and child relationship
It's literally the equivalent of a man calling his girlfriend " wifey " or saying “ yo that’s wifey “ usually when you're sprung in love you'll say anything like call someone a cheesy name such as wifey or hubby! Whatever you call your partner is not my problem 😂😂
thank you jeannie for always bringing in a different perspective ,sometimes parents can be over baring it doesnt mean we dont love them or arent cool with them like adrienne said
Adrienne , what you are saying is right I have done that several times I gave my last penny out to help someone and God blessed me in return immensely, but I always pray for the money before giving it out
Completely agree with Adrienne on that fake husband thing. If you don't need the paper then why you need the title? And I'm with Tamera on that work husband thing. If you're in a relationship then that work spouse thing is dangerous business.
1. My family follows me on social media. 2. Don't call me your wife if you haven't asked for my hand in marriage. 3. Spend the money, when you die you cant take it with you.. just be smart with your money.
I think when ppl use the term "piece of paper" as a replacement of a marriage license, its really degrading the value of having a marriage and every benefit it comes with it.
1:00 after Adrienne said “if you ain’t cool with yo mama like that” Jeannie and Tameras reaction said it all. Not everyone has a mother like you Adrienne. Not everyone can be cool with their momma like that. She can come off very judgmental and mean spirited. Jeannie had no relation with her mother for 10 years. Imagine how that made her feel? Ugh.
my family is on my fb, but my parents are not on any other social media, nor do they care to be, none of their senior friends are on it anyways lol. Women & money mgmt is a thing* and not enough women invest for their future! (group plans at your work, life insurance) These are important things to have whether you have kids /spouse or not! But Splurge on things you want when you feel you've worked hard enough to deserve it !
I love Tamera. She's so wise beyond her years. She is definitely one who I'll listen to for advice (IMHO). I can so relate to a lot of things she says and does.
I don't. my entire childhood was riddled with all forms of abuse and there are times when I have cptsd/bipolar episodes and get really scared of the idea of them knowing my activity on social media. I'm cool with both of my parents generally, but I cannot deal with the inevitable argument that would come up as a result of me revealing some of the things that they did to me during a triggered episode.
I'm friends with my parents on 2 out of the 4 social media platforms I have, which are Facebook and Instagram. Now snapchat and twitter are off limits, but thank God they don't use either of the two. I think sometimes we need some space and I don't need my parents judging or commenting on certain things, let me live a little bit.
My dad only has fb which I don't have but my mom follows me on ig and I was the one who made the account for her in the first place...I mostly post videos of me singing and my mom always comments and likes them which makes me happy 😂💙
I refer to my boyfriend as "husband" to other people because people (especially at places like the bank, or other businesses) don't take "boyfriend" seriously. We've been together 5 years, own a home together, have two dogs, share every bill, etc. I'll call him what I want.
Im 22, mom of 2, and my mom and dad follow me on everything and friends on fb...well all my family is. ..and ill post something. 5 seconds later... *RING* "that meme has a curse word! Remove it!" Okay momma!!!!! Damn 🤣
Why would you block your parents from social media? I’m the same person in person as I am on my social media. 🤷🏻♀️ We should absolutely be careful of what we put out there. If your parents have a problem with your content, maybe you should listen? Most of the time, nobody wants to see your growth and well being more than those people. My father says some odd things from time to time, but I LOVE that man. He is not well acquainted to social media etiquette! I have confidence in the woman I have become, a little comment won’t embarrass me. I just laugh it off or come back with a snorky/funny comment and that is it.
I agreed with Adrienne on the knowing your kids. Too many parents really don't know what their kids are getting up to!

Adrienne totally broke the teenage code!!😂
Was it really a secret tho? Most people know
Everybody thinks Mamma Mai is funny and friendly, but she knows no boundaries. It’s not healthy.

“I ain’t takin bout you ole heifas!!!” I. Love. Loni. 💜💜
i mean like hubby is a term of endearment from where i’m from, but it takes a while for us to call them hubby
A child should try respect and share oneself with ones parents. Parents if possible deserve to know their kids.
Go Adrienne re the tithing! She blessed me with that conviction!
When Jeannie and Tam both said “yes” at the same time 😂
I'm friends with my parents on 2 out of the 4 social media platforms I have, which are Facebook and Instagram.
Lorena Cuenca That's sweet! 🥰
Once my mom and dad commented on literally EVERYTHING i posted, they got blocked 🤷♀️
I refer to my boyfriend as "husband" to other people because people (especially at places like the bank, or other businesses) don't take "boyfriend" seriously. We've been together 5 years, own a home together, have two dogs, share every bill, etc. I'll call him what I want.
I've also hear people's relationship not being taken as seriously by others when it wasn't a marriage and therefore chose to use the terms
I’m friends with my momma on Facebook and I love it 😌🥰 we all can laugh together on Facebook plus I don’t post nothing inappropriate.
Probably gonna DM mama mai after this 🤣🤣👌🏾
Lmao I thought the same thing
She replied! Lol
@@geniestyles6880 lmaoo omg what did he say
Well i just tild her i love her daughter and her. And she said "thank you lol " just like that
Im 22, mom of 2, and my mom and dad follow me on everything and friends on fb...well all my family is. ..and ill post something.
Not everybody has loving parents or healthy relationships with their families. Some people need to be blocked regardless of familial status.
Because they nosy
because my family are annoying
Jeanie you just so cute and sweet to me, I get such a kick out of watching you, love to you and your mom.
My mom does but Grandma doesn't. What's hilarious to me is my Grandma let my 9 year old cousin make her a Facebook page that he checks for her.
Why would you expose the finstas like that Adrienne😭😭😭
