I'm sure these parents do a lot of work, but they make it sound like they do ALL the work, when they know damn well they wouldn't have 1/100th of the fanbase or money coming in if it weren't for their kids being the stars of the production. The government needs to mandate in situations like this that if the income coming in is substantial, like $50k annually or more, the kids individually and personally must earn a minimum of 10% of net revenue in a trust that can never be touched by the parents, and only touched by the kids after they turn 18.

I think there should be limits that apply to child influencers that are similar to child labor laws for child actors: limited hours for on screen, respecting boundaries in regards to how far they go, and a specified percentage of money protected with a contract and cannot be touched until they're 18 years of age.

I think a big (unaddressed in the documentary) factor in all this equation is the brands running this kidfluencing businesses. Why do they find it appropriate to endorse family vloggers that clearly expose their kids in very vulnerable and personal situations even when they clearly cannot (because of age and level of understanding) properly consent to their image rights being sold?? They should be definitely be held accountable for the terms on which they collaborate with this channels.

These precious little souls will come-of-age in a few years time. They will have mood swings and will likely begin to question themselves and even their parents or anyone in their midst. They'll also realize that their overexposure in the public eye through social media will cause devastating effects.

This kid is in first grade! She dresses like a teen (ties her shirt on the side so it’s cropped), wears makeup, and acts like she’s 18! And the other kid who isn’t even in kindergarten yet demands things and her mom pays her to eat food at our house when we invite them over cause apparently she can’t try a new food! It’s ridiculous!

It's all fun until it's not fun anymore! Those kids don't learn to deal with real disappointment. Their self esteem is not built on authentic activities and meaningful work, it's all just short-lived pleasure. In my opinion life doesn't work that way and most of them will have difficulties when they grow up, they aren't ,,cute'' anymore and will get judged. Sad!!

IMO children should not be allowed to be professional performers in any way until they are 18 and can legally consent. Minors can't, and parents can't be trusted to do what is best for the child. I've heard a psychologist say, "when the lifestyle and comfort levels of the parents goes up, due to the income of the performing child, the child's goes down." I have heard of the Clements twins and I think it is sickening that they have been taught since birth that what is important about them is what they look like. How can they ever have normal lives as adults when their appearances and their fashions and accessories and public validation always been their only definitions? Parents should never be able to make money off their children. Children who perform on tv, etc have it bad enough but at least they get to leave it behind when they go home. Parents who exploit their children as "family vloggers" or "influencers" have no laws around how and when and for how long they can film their child. Children have no private lives, or private spaces in their homes. Their most personal and private moments are vlogged. They are shown in their beds, in the bathrooms, in states of undress, and in distress. It is criminal. Also, Coogan's Law does not protect children's earnings if the parents spend it "on the child," including new houses, cars, trips, anything the child might use in any way.

I feel like a lot of these sponsharshios and stuff are okay but I would have to make sure that it is something that my child wants. I’m not going to restrict them and say no you can’t do this because not only am I blocking their wants but I am not really letting them do what they enjoy. Of course I’d have many regulations and boundaries but I feel like being able to have you kids receive sponsharips and take pics are okay. I’d still want them to have a childhood though so maybe they’d only be able to do it twice a month or something like that and as they get older if they want to do it more then as they grow I’ll be open to more psossbilities and less regulations. I hope this all made sense. But I def thing some of these families need to take a step back and look at the boundaries they’ve set and reevaluate to add some because these children still should be able to have fun. Like the babies in the Fischer family, they a me too young to even know what’s going on.

@@naudiiaathompson8646 I agree with you on the age of the kids, the younger they are the more vulnerable to manipulation. The other two families I’ve seen around in platforms, and they genuinely seem to be more about the children’s wants and desires aka we will quit when you want to. The Clements twins however are contracted models outside of their own pages so at least they’re protected in that regard, which is why the swimsuit thing makes sense, it’s company related and has to be promoted/model by someone. But all in all they all seem to have well rounded childhoods from what’s being portrayed by them and surrounding people.

@@laurag8126 I based my overarching assumption on family vloggers on the majority who profit on what I previously described. A couple families being the minority doesn’t negate the fact that there is a larger issue. I said you responding a year later about I family I didn’t mention was odd, because it kinda was. Like I said my first half was about the profession as an entity not singular cases.

@@laurag8126 There seems to be a disconnect, and I can tell you’re a fan of the people featured based on your responses. My initial comment was a response to the original poster. Not about the families featured in particular just in general. This docu-segment hasn’t swayed me in anyway on my opinion of family vloggers. I stand by my statement that the younger an action gets introduced the more normalized it is for the child(ren) which in this case would be vlogging, and I could say that about all the families. The particular one your upset about only fits because they had the youngest kids. So yes it’s off subject to tell me about some Internet kids weekly schedule in response to a generalized opinion.
