  • I got my information from “ Paper Money of the United States “ as far as pricing and print runs go. Prices listed tend to be the higher end of the range but at least it’s a starting point for you and a decent comparison of one note to the others.

    I was just randomly watching this older video of yours and literally as you were talking about the 2009 K star notes worth 75-125, I had one in my hand from the strap I am searching! WOW! Thank you!!

      That is the top end of retail value but still quite a bit over face value. Even if you got half of the prices I listed, any of these would be a great find!

    Are one dollar notes the only ones collectable? I have a $100 dollar bill with a star.

    • @Stuplubakcurrency
      @Stuplubakcurrency  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As I am discovering, $1 notes are the most desirable because of the low value and their "searchability". Rare stars in other denominations are valuable but just not at a multiple. Like my example, a $1 is $25 but that doesn't make the $100 = $2500. If your star is rare, it would have more value. just not 100x the value. You can check it at Mycurrencycollection. Just make sure you have the right denomination and year.

      eBay. Heritage, LCS, Facebook, etc. It’s up to you to find buyers. A first issue Superman comic may be worth $1 million but it’s not worth a thing until you find a buyer.

    Star notes always confused me... So theres only one star note for one number right? say like 12345678A and if that A breaks down or something happens they replace it with a *, so wouldnt it be 12345678 (*) ? one of one? sorry for the noob question lol

    • @Stuplubakcurrency
      @Stuplubakcurrency  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem! Star notes have their own number. It has nothing to do with the note they are replacing. Just imagine a stack of properly numbered star notes. As errors are detected in regular notes, they pull the mistakes and just replace the note with the next star. This keeps the first note in every strap as xxxxxx01 and the last note xxxxxx00. Finding a strap of consecutive stars usually indicates a cutting error and the entire strap gets replaced. Short printed stars are used as individuals to replace single notes. That’s why it’s so tough to find rare consecutive stars.

    ? A lot of $1 denomination stars and strap searches. But no one looks for or talks about $100 & $50 star notes. Why is that.

    • @Stuplubakcurrency
      @Stuplubakcurrency  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I save stars from higher denominations as well. I just don’t get to search straps of $100s. You can look those up on the same site. It’s just that when the average person gets a $100 note, it’s usually for a specific purpose like paying rent. If it happens to be a star, they aren’t in the position to save $100 randomly on that particular day.

    • @Stuplubakcurrency

      Paper Money of the United States lists them at $4-$11 depending on condition and Reserve. That book just lists the total print runs. It looks like only 1 print run was done for the older notes.

    Not to nitpick but when talking about star notes isn't it customary to actually have star notes,not their earlier counterparts.I have a few star notes that have the actual star.This almost seems like a scam talking about star notes but not even remotely dealing with them.What a letdown.

      All though I appreciate the thought that you believe I have one of every note, I am far from it. I thought it more important that you learn about these notes rather than keep the info to myself.
