I always had the tellers at my bank to be on the lookout for any unusual bills and coins. Well this one teller was very amicable and always kept a lookout for me. He always had something that I would like. Well one day he called me up and said that he had some interesting $2 I would definitely like. When I got there we made an exchange and the serial numbers were all in sequential order and the numbers ran like this 01012012 to 01012016 , so I had 5 bills with the new years date on them. But that wasn’t the best part. The series was 2013 A . So I had the 01012013 A . Now that note is definitely worth more than the $2 bill. That bank had the best tellers that I’ve ever had. They always called me when they had something and like a good puppy I ran out to them as soon as I could.
Thank you for your great information!! Coin collector, recently turned to currency collecting last year and loving it!! Also a new subscriber to your channel and loving it! Binge watching your vlogs this weekend...thank you for the great info and all of the great examples you show...
Truly informative . You cover so much valuable information! I just bought a bundle of sequential serial $1 notes. I see them for sale on Ebay but nor sure it the sales are just a scam. I asked my local grocery store for straps of singles and received sequential serial numbers
I've definitely always been a collector but I don't get the same buzz off of buying/spending a high premium on these types of bills so I'm always looking at my bills and coins, so that being said I only have a $2 red seal bill from 1928 I picked up. Definitely fun searching though.
Good stuff! But...... you know I’m going to give ya a hard time on a couple of these. First off let me say you’re totally correct on a ton of misinformation about fancies. There’s been so many newer terms created that essentially are nothing for something. I consider myself a strict fancy serial number collector and thus don’t accept “trinaries” “bookends” five of a kind (unless obviously they are leading or trailing 0’s) etc. Even six of a kind I’m hesitant on to say ya ok I’ll keep that. Basically my marker is 7 of a kind or better for those. I also don’t agree that Barr notes are more than face (unless UNC and starred) like yours. There were millions of these printed and everyone kept them because they thought they’d become valuable later on due to his short time in office. Anyhow, just my opinions. Love that 60006000 and 7 in a row 1’s. Good stuff. Hopefully this helps to clear up some confusion with people. I see it EVERYDAY on my Facebook fancy page people thinking they have something but all they have is a spender. Be well bud
I expect nothing but the best intentions from you and you know how I value your opinion. I just cringe so hard when I see people saving things that they can't even give an explanation for! I did my best to not associate a dollar value or any actual value for most of the notes. I think this is a good illustration of what these notes are especially in comparison to what some sites say. I was thinking of doing a list like you did showing the odds of each note. That would be extremely helpful. But, at the very least, this allows people to see exactly what can be found, what can be cool, and what (possibly) could be worth more than face. I pretty much put book ends in just to get a rise out of you! Take care bro!
What a great video! Now I understand better about what makes certain notes special. Question: If I went to the bank & got $40 in ones, do you think there’d be a unique or special one in the group?? Thanks for sharing! Blessings always. ❤️✝️
You see what I find in 1000 every week. Just remember, when you search 100 notes, you still have $100 when you are done. It only costs money if you keep any.
Very interesting collection! Couple curious questions: did they only print web notes in $1 denomination? And is the 'I' star note rare because they dont print as much from that reserve?
Web notes were an experiment by the reserve and were only issued in $1 denominations. I've been told that the reason it ended was because they couldn't find parts for the press when it broke down. As for the "I" stars... Prior to this current series, they weren't printed since 1995. And prior to that, you have to go back to 1969! Some people like to collect stars from each reserve. That makes "I" Minneapolis notes that much harder to find. I'm not even sure if there is a premium on them, but there should be!
Nice job pointing out, that if you like something, collect it.Everybody like different things, and collects for different reasons. Does everything have to be for financial gain?Only the collector can answer that, but knowing what you have and its value should be taken into consideration.Fantastic job bro
Thank you! I tried my best to make sure people know it's ok to save anything they choose. Just be realistic on knowing value. I'm just as guilty. I save quads and trinaries. But I do it, like you said, for my own reasons. Take care!

I see many people spending hours typing random numbers hoping the coolness index will say something just so they can turn around and try to sell it. These people have no interest in the hobby. I’ve found many older bills at the bank, but they never were in the nicest shape to be collectible. Almost to where I’m surprised that they weren’t sent in to be destroyed.
@@Stuplubakcurrency I’ve been trying for some several years now, but it’s more worthwhile to collect coin rolls and ultimately I’ve had better luck finding recentish notes from circulation that have worth to them for any of the reasons described in your video. The most notable $1 bills in my current collection is a miscut 2013B star note and a 2009 which serial number is a perfect trinary ladder (00011122).
Yeah, never been into fancy numbers like binaries and trinaries, but I have found that bill tracker site to be hilarious for what it considers cool or uncool. I do have a low number note saved with it having 4 zeroes than a 1 thousand number, just wish it had a star after it.
A question for you: my dad handed to me a $20 from 1950. It is a star note with serial K00130131. How would you go about determining the value of a note like this? (Neat having a Dallas note and living in Dallas)
Cool note. The site that I look up stars doesn’t go back that far. But “Paper Money of the United States “ does! Great book! The serial is a trinary but that probably doesn’t increase the value. It just makes it more likely that your note will sell first. Also remember that condition is huge. If it’s a 1950 (and not a 1950 A or B or C) there were only about 22 million total notes printed for Dallas and that includes stars. If your note is about a VF20, it runs about $90. As a Ch63, you are talking $350!
Very very interesting video. Learnt a lot. Thank you. Do you also collect higher denomination notes with fancy/unique serial numbers? Same for foreign banknotes? I enjoy your videos because long ago I was bitten by the serial number bug, and can't let go of ANY note without glancing at the number. Also, I found your channel very recently and have been going through your past videos, hopefully diligently. Thanks once again.
Thank you very much! I also check the number on every note that crosses my fingers. I do have a handful of larger denomination notes. They are mostly rare stars or binaries. I try to be very selective with them because they add up fast. I don't know if it's a good thing or not but because I search singles, when I return them I tend to get $100s. So I have quite a few of those put away. As far as foreign notes, I don't know much about them but I would assume there would be the same interest if the combinations were equally as rare. I'm glad you find my videos helpful! I will do my best to answer any questions so please feel free to ask!
I’m in Australia and recently exchange Aussie dollars for USD for my upcoming trip. I did get a USD $100 Star note in the exchange, when checking the mintage it sayings there was 3.2Mil made.. Is this note a keeper or should spend it ? Much appreciated Rod I also have a $1 dollar Where is George note from my 2015 trip to NewYork (I still have it as a keep sake)
Awesome find! I'm not even sure I've seen one at a show much less found one in circulation. I'm closing in on 200,000 notes searched and errors are very tough to come by. That would make a great Fancy Friday note!
Is there any publications that help you (me) with learning the plate's, the series, etc, I hunt star notes, low serial numbers, birthday notes, old notes, web notes, fancy serial numbers, etc, any help would be appreciated, thank you
It's not exactly everything you described, but the book "Small Size U.S. Paper Money 1928 to Date" by John Schwartz and Scott Lindquist gives a lot of info on print run size, serial numbers, and certain plate numbers where mules or variants can be found. I did do a review of this book. The 2 biggest knocks are it says full color (it's not) and the newest notes listed are 2006. The prices will be off but the rest of the info is good. I hope this helps!
I have a 10 dollar bill 2013 series with S7 printed on it. I also have a 5 dollar bill same 2013 series with WU27 printed on it. I do not have any idea what they are. Any ideas? Thank you. Can you reply?
Thanks for sharing your idea sir. I’m his video is very helpful, i learned so much but still iam wondering to where i can sell my $100,000 gold certificate bill. Is the bank will accept old currency? Series of 1934
They say right on the page that cool factor does not make a bill valuable . And they don't give a value! It just gives a cool factor and the odds and run numbers ! I' personally think that Bill is Cool, when you do your thousand bill search show how many you get since you say 5 you should get! That Bill if not mistaken has 2 runs of 1 thru 4 id take it if you want to send it to me on your dollar of course 😂. Pun intended! 😂
People used to believe $2 bills were unlucky so they would tear a corner off before spending them. Once all 4 corners were torn off, the bad luck would be gone.
This is pretty cool! This is gonna get me to start looking at all of my bills 💵 from now on 🧐. One question. Where would you go to find those plastic things you out the bills in? 😅
I kinda stumbled across your video I’m a long time small size note collector from the late seventies on seriously I can’t watch the video just yet my internet is on slow right now because I use too many hours and though I have unlimited they slow me way down during “peak hours???” It sucks but is what it is since I don’t have wi-fi, anyway, I’ll view the video later when I can I’m not so big in the numbers racket lol But I do have a lot of them Some are interesting some not so much I do have a rather considerable web note collection and one of 1995 295 back plate errors I’m an old guy and don’t put as much into it now as I once did but still find it a most fascinating hobby There is so much to part note collecting and so much to learn I do still at any rate thanks for now and until I can watch the video
Thanks for watching! I am by no means an expert but I do enjoy it. This is just a basic run down of certain things that may be collectible. So many people are being told things that just aren't true. I'm jusr offering a little help.
Thanks Stu it’s what is needed in the hobby. I really enjoy new and young collectors and see how they are doing. Yeah there is a lot of things to be wary of from places like eBay and Etsy to name a couple and I feel if i can add some sense to it all then I do my part. However one collects is up to them and whatever they enjoy. I can’t tell you how many times I was called silly or foolish and poo pooed on some things I gathered and collected yes I have a lot of stuff some very valuable some memorable and I enjoy it all. I’m not really capable to put on a video myself and I certainly enjoy ones that do sensibly like yours also Kyle at Variety and Errors Keep the good work I’ll chime in when I can
HI!! i loved watching this video and it was really cool and interesting. i found a star note with the plate number 3. sense it's a low plate number do you think it's worth a lot (letter L)
Thanks for the reply I have some that is over 99% says extremely cool and I also have 45 of the double serial star notes that was printed errors in 2013
That's great as long as you think they are cool. The 2013's could be incredible! Good luck with those. Check them on the list. Just an FYI. A note like 42669842 could be considered a 99% note because it's book ends. It starts with 42 and there are 100 combinations that it could end with, only 1 being 42 as well. Thus being a note that is clearly in the top 1% of rarity and still has no additional value. Radars and repeaters are 99.99% . A solid is 99.99999%.
You seem to know what your talking about. Im wondering if you'd take a look at something. Im not sure what to make of it. Theres tiny bits of gold on the line of my 50.00 bill.
I would love to see a pic of it. I have heard of one other person finding a black serial number. But until I can see one in person, I don't know if it's truly black or just a dark green overprint. Definitely a keeper until we know for sure. You can send a pic to my email at stuplubak@msn.com so I can see it!

@@damian9303 Cool! That’s why I search 1000 notes a week. Lots of great finds.
How can I determine the year currency was printed bill
Generally speaking they are printed for a few years so it’s not a specific year but a range.
Yeah, never been into fancy numbers like binaries and trinaries, but I have found that bill tracker site to be hilarious for what it considers cool or uncool. I do have a low number note saved with it having 4 zeroes than a 1 thousand number, just wish it had a star after it.
A star would be nice!
I have a 20 dollar bill with serial #64222222. I don't know if it has any value. Any idea?Thank you.
I don’t specialize in fancies but I bet it’s worth at least twice face to the right person.
Thank you for telling.

Lar bills is it desireable to get them in nerical order
Some people do but it doesn’t really make them worth more.
I’m in Australia and recently exchange Aussie dollars for USD for my upcoming trip. I did get a USD $100 Star note in the exchange, when checking the mintage it sayings there was 3.2Mil made.. Is this note a keeper or should spend it ?
Much appreciated Rod
I also have a $1 dollar Where is George note from my 2015 trip to NewYork (I still have it as a keep sake)
3.2 million is the average print run. You can spend it. Be sure to log that where’s George!
Have your found any mismatched serial numbers? I’ve found one so far and now I’m addicted!

@@Stuplubakcurrency thank you, I'll find it, I have some notes I would like to know more about, I collect short snorter, and other's, thank you again

What would you recommend for a currency price guide?
Paper money of the United States is my go to book. I did a book review of it. There is a playlist for all of my book reviews.
I have hust got done watching one ofyourvifeos. I have a00000021 from series 2007 where would I find the value of it
Look up sold listings on eBay for low serial numbers. Yours is considered a 2 digit number. Nice find!
I have a 10 dollar bill 2013 series with S7 printed on it. I also have a 5 dollar bill same 2013 series with WU27 printed on it. I do not have any idea what they are. Any ideas? Thank you. Can you reply?
They are probably partial bank teller stamps.
@@Stuplubakcurrency Thank you so much for replying.
Thanks for sharing your idea sir. I’m his video is very helpful, i learned so much but still iam wondering to where i can sell my $100,000 gold certificate bill. Is the bank will accept old currency? Series of 1934
You don’t have a $100,000 bill. They were never issued to the public and it is illegal to own one.
I have a 2006 One Dollar Radar note. The serial number reads F 80999908 R.
That's a very cool note!
That is called a “Radar note”
Unc maybe $10 to$20 value
Nice numbers
Thank you!
GOOD STUFF👍Thanks Stuplubak!
Thanks for watching!
I kept one just because it starts 911. Is that cool?
@@jorenecyphers6425 You determine what you think is cool.
Do you know much about 2 dollars bills possibly torn instead of cut ?
People used to believe $2 bills were unlucky so they would tear a corner off before spending them. Once all 4 corners were torn off, the bad luck would be gone.
Good information
Thanks!
This is pretty cool! This is gonna get me to start looking at all of my bills 💵 from now on 🧐. One question. Where would you go to find those plastic things you out the bills in? 😅
Just look on eBay for currency supplies. That’s how I found them. I have a top 10 list featuring the supplies I use.

I kinda stumbled across your video I’m a long time small size note collector from the late seventies on seriously I can’t watch the video just yet my internet is on slow right now because I use too many hours and though I have unlimited they slow me way down during “peak hours???” It sucks but is what it is since I don’t have wi-fi, anyway, I’ll view the video later when I can
I’m not so big in the numbers racket lol
But I do have a lot of them
Some are interesting some not so much
I do have a rather considerable web note collection and one of 1995 295 back plate errors
I’m an old guy and don’t put as much into it now as I once did but still find it a most fascinating hobby
There is so much to part note collecting and so much to learn I do still at any rate thanks for now and until I can watch the video
I’m not really capable to put on a video myself and I certainly enjoy ones that do sensibly like yours also Kyle at Variety and Errors
Keep the good work I’ll chime in when I can
What does it mean when the FW J number matches the J number on the left side of the note?
Nothing. There are 5 positions for the note on the sheet on the left. At some point, plates number 1-5 will be used.
What about serial numbers with an underscore (_) in the middle, for example: MF1234_678D
That sounds like a stuck digit error or a gas pump error. I would love to see a pic!
What about a ladder or broken ladder
True ladders are as rare as solids. Broken ladders are very common.
I have a one dollar bill with a 🌟 and a cool #9 pattern where can I go to see what is worth
Stars should be checked for how rare they are at mycurrencycollection.com but I don't know what you mean about the #9 pattern.
Good Info
What about a note indicating future date on it? Is it worth anything?
Hard to say. I don’t know if anything will happen on that day.
@@Stuplubakcurrency thanks 👍🙏🏽👍
HI!! i loved watching this video and it was really cool and interesting. i found a star note with the plate number 3. sense it's a low plate number do you think it's worth a lot (letter L)
Plate number doesn't matter as much as the serial number. You want to see a bunch of zeroes to start. That's worth a lot more than plate number.
Thank you very much. This is very informative.
Glad it was helpful!
Hopefully someone can help mee please. Is there a dollar bill star note wit the number on the back under the '"E" instead of above it?
Just about every star note has the number under the E on the back. The only notes that are above the E are web notes from 1988a, 1993, and 1995.
Where do you buy those plastic money covers
They are on eBay. Look in supplies.
How about note that has three sixes or three threes or two fours two sets of 24s I mean zeros or twin twos
Neat but not worth anything.
Great collection bro
Thanks!

The coolness index has nothing to do with the value. If you need to type in the number to discover something “cool”, it’s not rare or valuable.

Maybe $5. You want 3 digits or less.
I have 2 $1 bills with the serial # black on the left and green on the right. Is that an error?
I would love to see a pic of it. I have heard of one other person finding a black serial number. But until I can see one in person, I don't know if it's truly black or just a dark green overprint.
