    I am writing this a couple of weeks after the guy said Bank tellers keep old notes. I went to my bank about a month ago and asked if they had any. Nope. Went back earlier this week they had kept 5-$100s, 4-$50s, 2-$20s, 2-10s and 8-5s. All small heads. I may or may not keep all of them but I got all of them. None of these tellers had ever even seen me before because I usually do not go in this particular branch. So yes they will help.

    Last year I made it to where I can actually save up to the 20 in the small head. Just had a lower income until last year. This year, a goal is to collect the 50 and 100 of the small head, and the monochrome series. Feels good to finally be able to get more serious about my currency collection. My coin collection is a bit beefier though.

I love star notes and the R & S experimental notes, they're my top bills to collect. Might sound crazy but I put every single star note, old or new, into my collection. Great list stu. If any of your viewers like to collect international currency I’d advise them to go to the airport. I recently took a trip from NC to Denver. A lot of airports have currency exchange stations. For a small fee you can exchange your US dollars for all types of international bank notes even if you’re only flying domestically. I picked up a lot of really cool international bank notes that were practically uncirculated for nearly face value.

    Aside from these great tips and info,I liked your replies about holding cash,fiat,and our economy collapsing.Everyone says the dollar doesn't have buying power these days,inflation, I get it,but back 100 years ago,it didn't have any buying power either, its different times.The US dollar isn't going anywhere soon,but that's just my opinion. I save any old bills,2 dollar bills,anything like that, like you said, it's a savings.Along with banktellers,I know people in retail, servers,etc,that come in the bar,and give me stuff that I've asked about, faced value.Last night a waitress came in gave me a 1928D 5$ LT,pretty worn,but still worth at least 30$.I bought her a couple beers, she was more excited about that, lol.

      That's very cool of you. I could also be bought off for a few beers. lol! I always wonder if people read my replies to others. I also wonder how many people I piss off without ever knowing it! I actually did a video explaining why I think stacking physical silver (instead of just buying paper silver) is unpatriotic for the same reason. I just didn't publish it yet. I giggle to myself every time I see "America" or "patriot" or something similar with the words "silver" and "stacker" because, let's face it, if you are buying silver at this high price AND paying high premiums, You could get so much more for your investment dollar if you just got paper ETFs. Yes, you would be screwed in a global economic collapse, but getting only high premium physical silver shows a persons distrust in the country and society they claim to be a patriot of; therefore, unpatriotic. But what do I know! LOL! Take care!

    • @Stuplubakcurrency
      @Stuplubakcurrency  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 666 note is more of a novelty. I thought about putting 50 of these together and trying to sell them as a group but I didn't think anyone would buy them. Your $2 note is a very high number. They don't make them that high any more. They stop at 96000000. I save all notes that have quads but that's just because I'm trying to find 2 notes with the same number. Most people look for 5 or 6 of a kind. Double check the series of that note. There is a big difference between 2003 and 2003 A. 2003 A notes are regular notes. But 2003 were only star notes. They were extremely short printed.

    Collecting dollar notes is almost like magic cards xD so many differences … and the best part .. if you bought your collection once .. upgrades are basically free because you can spend the replaced note xD .. in germany we dont have those many different series with the euro .. and i dont like the design of the euro very much .. other currencies are way more beautifull 😊

    Great video but banktellers dont know what small head means, just ask of they have any old bills, most tellers remember seeing old stuff

    • @Stuplubakcurrency
      @Stuplubakcurrency  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They also don’t know about stars, web notes, or fancy serial numbers. I teach them and they remember. They think it’s too much work to keep and resell but they know I want them.

    My bank does NOT like coin and currency collectors. If I ask for a $100 bundle of $1 bills, I NEVER get a nice new note - every bill is ready for the Treasury Dept chopping machines. Also, there are NEVER any desirable serial numbers. They are always acting disgusted with me - as they are with other collectors.

      Sounds like they have had a few disrespectful collectors. To be honest, I do better with those old straps.

      I always cringe when I hear the word "fiat". Huge pet peeve of mine. It is used by people who like to imply that US currency is worthless, or soon to be worthless. The only way that would be true is if the entire United States economy collapsed. I can't think of anything less patriotic than someone rooting for our country to collapse. Take care!

    I ran across you TH-cam channel today. I have some oddities like a $20 bill where a piece of paper landed on the obverse side after the first printing the next Two printings were done on the paper Serial Number and Treasury Seal, Federal Reserve Seal and Numbers, are on the paper. I do need to get this note rated. I also have a Federal Reserve $5 bill Series 1928 A that has payable in Gold.

    • @Stuplubakcurrency
      @Stuplubakcurrency  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your $20 is called an obstruction error. Those can be worth hundreds! I have a playlist featuring errors if you want more info. The $5 is a cool note but prior to 1934, all notes had the “payable in gold” obligation. Nice finds!

    I may be in the minority on this but I find it terrible that you resell the old money by having a teller save you old money. They’re doing it thinking you’ll collect it in actuality you’re profiting off of it.

    • @Stuplubakcurrency
      @Stuplubakcurrency  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually, I do collect it. I sell very little. I just started auctioning 5 items a month. I’ve been doing this for about 5 months. That’s 25 items. I think 1 of these notes were a teller find and it was a duplicate for me.

    Thank you again for great and valuable information!!! What would you do with $5 silver certificate signed by the infantry in WWII? I personally never knew there was a $10 gold certificate ...how cool. I really do appreciate your channel and your honesty. Have a blessed day.

    • @Stuplubakcurrency
      @Stuplubakcurrency  ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are called short snorters. Soldiers would have their group sign a note. At the bar they would ask to see each others note. Who ever didn’t have one had to pay. Or something like that. It’s more than of a military thing. Not something that I collect but they come up for auction often.

    You’re not going to get any of these notes from a bank. The tellers will keep them. This guy is full of bull.

    • @Stuplubakcurrency
      @Stuplubakcurrency  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You overestimate how much tellers make for a living. A teller can’t pull $300 out n old bills every day. At some point, they have to bring home a paycheck. At some point, all of these were at a bank.
