    Interesting comparison I don't think I had seen before. Was surprised to see the Camry come out on top but outside styling and interior I think it makes sense.

      michael S very cool, so I'm sure you know all the things that probably go on that I couldn't see that makes the Avalon pricier - but man is that Camry not such a solid car that it makes you debate upgrading to the Avalon

    I like the Avalon a lot. A lot more luxurious than the Camry, but the Camry is nice enough for what it is. I own a 2015 Camry XSE V6 & it's more appropriate for my generation (I'm 31) & it costs a lot less than the Avalon. But if I had to go for an Avalon, I would go for the top of the line Limited trim to get the cooled front seats, heated rear seats, etc. But both the Camry & Avalon are great cars overall.

    If you chose or are considering Avalon over the Camry, love to hear why besides space. For me it was too much 90s Cadillac- squishy brakes, floatyness, etc (although that may be a reason why you bought it if you have nostalgia for older cadillacs I suppose$ :)

      DFWs Cars The camry drives better. It has soo much userbility that its hard to justify the Avalons added price. The V6 is much better applied to the Camry. The Camry is a very good car that is hugely slept upon. The Avalon is a luxury car. But the Camry is a luxury car that has sportiness in its suspension(Se and XSE) trim. I seriously love my camry. I test drove the Avalon. and man i wasnt swept away

    Test drove both a 17 camry xse v6 and 17 avalon touring back to back. The Camry was ok. Some interior details were a bit cheap. The biggest difference was the ride. The Camry was a bit choppy and rough. As soon as we got into and drove the avalon, it was clear it was a much nicer car. Smoother, quieter, way nicer interior though the touch controls for hvac were a little irritating. The big difference was the ride. Way smoother and and quieter. Felt more luxurious. Much better looking than the Camry too.

      Dylan Mark if you’re looking for a luxury car- I used the analogy “old school Cadillac of Lincoln”. it’s hard to beat the cushiness of the Avalon.

    • @DFWsCars
      @DFWsCars  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If they were similar in price I would take the ES350 for the better radio, etc- but for some reason I want to think the Avalon is a bit bigger than it’s respective ES counterpart.

      @@DFWsCars I’d like to buy privately but it seems nobody sells their old Avalon or ES except dealers. I currently have an 07 v6 Camry with 225k. Still runs perfect but I know it won’t last forever. But the engine/transmission has been so good to me that I decided when the car dies I’ll get either an Avalon or Es with the same setup to replace it

      Ya Toyota makes some great products! If I went Avalon, I'd try to get a really solid deal on the 2017, as the Avalon is long in it's tooth and due for a replamcent in 2018/19, or 20. Also a all new bigger, more luxurious Camry is due soon.

    Just bought a 2017 Avalon. 38,000 km on the odometre. Absolutely superb. Yes, the brakes are on the soft side but not squishy. I've put about 1,000 km on the car in all weather conditiions and at many speeds and have had no touble braking efficiently. The car also handles beautifully. Geat acceleration and passing power. It is smooth without being floaty at all. Best car I have ever owned.

      I am really really torn right now between keeping my 2017 Camry LE with 53K miles on it, OR trading it in for a used 2017 Avalon XLE with 15K miles on it (or a 2018 Avalon XLE Premium with 33K miles on it). My Camry still feels like new. But having read and seen reviews about how the Avalons are a better ride, I'm starting to feel that "itch" of just wanting to try something new since I have never owned or sat in an Avalon before. Any thoughts from the public ?
