I opted for the 2018 Lexus es350 which is based on the Avalon frame with similar powertrain but that's where the similarities end as both cars seem to be entirely different. However this doesn't look too shabby if you dont need the extra luxurious ride of the es. I actually love both! Toyota and Lexus the most dependable cars available according to Consumer Reports and JD Power. Had I found a Avalon when I was looking I probably would have bought it simply for the savings vs a Lexus. 💯

I'm with you there. Where I am in present day, the used ES350's and Avalons in the years I was looking for were about the same cost! Opting for ES 350, though from what I here those 2 are the MOST reliable vehicles around.

The Avalon was the VERY FIRST car we ever reviewed way back in 2012! In this review, we will be taking one last look at this generation before it is replaced next year!

Thank you for the Great Review. We Purchased the Avalon Limited in Blizzard Pearl, same color scheme as the one in your review. I was really impressed with all the Technology and safety features and the ride is Awesome. It sounded a little funny to me how you talk like this is an old car but everything in it is brand new to us. Tried the Camry but you can't beat the V-6 for quiet and smooth power and acceleration. Really Great car! 2017

I'm thinking about getting a nice used Avalon (2017 or 2018) as a replacement for my 2016 Kia Forte. The Avalon may be thought of as "Toyota's Buick," but so what? It's too bad the Avalon has been dropped from the Toyota lineup. I'm missing it already. They have replaced it with the Crown. Not sure I'm gonna warm up to it (the Crown). I've already seen a few TH-cam videos already. It's a tall, clunky-looking sedan with big wheels. It reminds me of the old Ford Five Hundred/Taurus from the mid to late 2000s. _(10/29/2022)_

Isn't it ironic that a race of people that was almost at the point of annihilation makes one of the best line of cars in the world.

I was helping my grandfather look for cars, and we considered this, the Impala, the ES350 and the Cadenza. All were top trims (except the lexus which I dont know about) Kia Cadenza won with this as a close second. The Kia just had better features for the money, as well as an awesome warranty. Lexus was too complicated, especially with the stupid mouse instead of a normal touchscreen, and the Chevy felt very chintzy.

That grill looks like an ugly set of braces. The third generation was the nicest design, in my opinion.
