    I haven't got that far into the video yet and I heard about a big striper.
    I wish I had a buddy who could catch big ones!

    Geezz, we won't see water Temps below 80 degrees for a month! 86 degrees last week when we went!
    We drove over Lake Belton Saturday going to the deer lease...it was dry under the bridge we were on!
    30 to 40 feet below normal.
    Our normal lake is already 4 to 5 foot low after being over full in May!
    Looks like you guys were crushing them!

    • @BooneBoys
      @BooneBoys  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s crazy the lakes are already that far down since May. Next week it will be in the 80’s and lows in upper 50’s here in Oklahoma. I think that will really get the fish going

      Forecast has us over 100 for a few more days...looks like rain next week and mid 90's during that week!
      Drove over the river coming out of Lake Somerville and they had a heavy flow of water coming out of the lake. Last time I was there over a month ago it was 5 feet low!
      My wife and i were drawn again to hunt Alligators by Texas Parks &Wildlife!
      We hunt Sunday and Monday! Just before the rains are supposed to start.

      Temps are actually dropping pretty quick, two weekends ago lake waco was at 76 in the afternoon. 14 ft low, but 76 degrees lol

      I went yesterday to Lake Conroe and when we got on the water it was 71 degrees.
      Last week it was 77, so the major weather change has really got the water Temps falling.
      Still little to no rain...but at least it's cooler during the day.

    Another awesome video, you guys ever go to waurika?

    • @BooneBoys
      @BooneBoys  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No we haven’t been. We’d love to sometime. We try and go to Texoma a few times a year during deadstick season. Is Waurika your home lake?

    • @Shea-D-Acres
      @Shea-D-Acres ปีที่แล้ว

      @BooneBoys that's awesome, we'll be at texoma next weekend if the weather cooperates. I live in marlow, about 45 minutes from waurika lake. I haven't fished it much in years but it used to be excellent hybrid fishing and has some good catfish in it too. Been wanting too make a trip out there sometime soon but I never seem to have time lol. We have several little city lakes around that I can make the most out of a couple hours here and there so that's where I tend to go the most.

    I had no idea there were stripers in Canton. I've heard there are walleye but when I've fished the Rodeo, all I catch are sand bass.

    • @BooneBoys
      @BooneBoys  ปีที่แล้ว

      There are some really nice ones. Biggest we’ve caught is 35” last year. I’ve caught 2 in a day before but I’ve heard of some people catching more than 5 in a day. I’ve caught a small one before so I’m assuming they are spawning naturally there.

      @jarodmorris4408 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BooneBoys If they are in Canton, then they should be in Hefner since Canton feeds into Hefner. I've gone to Texoma with my boys 2 years ago and then with 2 of my close friends last year. Didn't make it there this year but would love to take my boat. It's a 1452 jon boat so it would be an adventure.

    When does the fall bite usually pick up? I get off deployment early October. Getting that itch

    • @BooneBoys
      @BooneBoys  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      October is usually one of the best months for live bait fishing for hybrid bass. Come mid November, the deadstick bite will start up.

    “Don’t leave fish to go find fish.” Yeah, like I haven’t had to be painfully reminded of that one a time or ten. If only I learned that lesson just once the first time.
    First time back on Canton in awhile, did you try a jigging or flutter spoon at all or just live bait?
    Also what’s the walleye bite like there this time of year going into fall? Like it was for us during & after the rodeo or totally different?

    • @BooneBoys
      @BooneBoys  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’d think I’d learn that but the allure of bigger fish is hard to resist!
      I’d think you’d need to go for walleye at night now.
      I didn’t try any artificial this trip. I think it’s a month out from that probably, at least for us.

      @@BooneBoys the sirens of Greek mythology do exist, James. We just know them as the big fish that always make us go against our better judgment in reckless pursuit of them.
      Oh boy fishing is gonna get amazing as it gets into October. It’s also now less than 60 days until the trout opener. We are so stoked. Hope you’ll join us again for that sans my swan dive that I still haven’t lived down. 🤪
      Also with the water temperature starting to come off the summer high, about what temperature should we start looking at switching to deadsticking?

    • @BooneBoys
      @BooneBoys  ปีที่แล้ว

      Below 55 degrees is Deadsticking normally. Last year thanksgiving we were Deadsticking.
      Hopefully we can make it back to the blue river. We wanted to make a few more trips to Texoma this winter Deadsticking.
