Does that burping method also work for other fish with barotrauma or what do you for other species…aside from fry oil and breading? 🤣
That thumping would drive me nuts. Pass the pocket knife I’ll fix it.
Even if you’re loading your boat with fish? Lol
So does he live?
No hes already dead
Yes. Put him in our farm pond.
I showed my brother this and he said “If someone kills a turtle they are going to hell” like bro chill I know you love turtles😭😭😭
i just saw a you tube video of a deer eating a baby bird alive, so maybe you should rethink this experiment.
@@riverrat3101 lol.
Great fishing my friends!! Those ACC crappie Stix are the way to go. We’ve probably pulled out thousands of crappie using those rods!
Thanks! We are at about 100 crappie, so a little bit behind you lol. But I was super surprised how the pole really didn’t bend that much with the large fish we caught.
@ Yes you will enjoy those rods more and more. I’ve tested other rods and they aren’t that great. But, what livescope unit do you have, lvs32, or 34?
Foss?
What a beautiful day! Congrats on a great trip! I'm doing a new remodeling project. My wife has wanted new flooring in the house since we bought it in 2020! Got the two big rooms done but still need molding! I hate to let this tip out but maybe it's unique to my primary Hybrid lake. But many of my best Hybrid spots are next to brush piles that have been set out for Crappie. The water here rarely get real cold like it does in Oklahoma. But next week it will drop into the 30's for a number of days so our water temps will drop into the lower 50's. In 2012 while looking for Hybrids in 30FOW I caught a big 15" Crappie deadsticking. One last thing! That would have been a killer time to have used my bait fishing technique! I've never tried it in low 50 degree water but plan to in two weeks. Next week the weather look too unstable but we should have a good day or two the following week!
This weather should make the fishing better I think. I keep forgetting the mussels, but will try it again soon.
Up until today the weather has been perfect. I’ve gotta get out more in the winter for sure.
Cold sure hit us today too. Should change the fishing for the better I think though.
@ can’t wait to see what you guys get into for me I won’t get started till march most likely
Do you have a video fishing Lake Waurika in Oklahoma? Would love to see one. Awesome! videos, Thanks!
Not yet but we are wanting to hit that lake soon. Heard nothing but good things.
I love the look on the other boaters face when you were spitting distance thumping as he is crappie fishing. That it epic, I could only imagine what he was saying.
good job
Thx!
And nice video!
Thanks Stan!
Did you go to MSU?
University of Missouri.
@@BooneBoys sorry that’s what I meant to say.
Gotta love it. Can't put the jig in the school of crappie. Put it just above them a foot or two, when they start coming up, slowly pull up and make them follow it.
Thanks for the tips. Lot to learn but so far marking trees through the years is paying off. lol.
@BooneBoys definitely, mark those trees!
Nice to see you catch some slabs! I love crappie. Was that an ACC Crappie pole? I got a 7ft ACC and they’re phenomenal rods. Crappie are typically either suspending fish just out in the middle of the lake somewhere, or are found tight in brush piles. Were you fishing a brush pile or did you just find a school on live scope suspended?
Yes we got some 13’ ACC poles. Seemed like those were the most highly recommended. So far we like them. Haven’t ever tried other so can’t really say how they compare. These were in brush piles. Used to get caught up in these walleye fishing. I could see how a 7’ would be nice in 50’fow. You can go straight down and the length isn’t really advantageous.
@BooneBoys just wait until a largemouth, sandy or catfish grabs your crappie lure. It'll be like fighting a marlin if you don't break off and keep the drag fairly low.
Pretty neat to see you catch the slabs this time! Another great outing!!
Thanks! My dad has been wanting to get back into crappie fishing for a long time.
Dang!! I'm retired and you guys do more fishing than me. As always, you guys rock!! Love your videos!! Keep em coming.
Ha ha. Hopefully my wife doesn’t catch on to how much we fish. Thanks so much for the support!
I am too! My dad told me I would have as much spare time retired as I had working! He was right! We did buy a new home on property so it's a full time job remodeling, gardening and trying to maintain big flock of chickens. I also picked a AM part time job so I don't sleep in all the the time. I get home around 9am so it about the time I would have woke up ate breakfast and be ready to do stuff!
Are the light blue marks crappie?
Yes. White crappie.
Come on Dad! Lol
Love it. Trying to learn how to do this is a journey for sure.
@@billyray8904 well we are hooked. Today we sacked them and both the boys were catching them and I could tell they really enjoyed the crappie bite
Nice homeschooling type of experiment. Very fun.
Unless you’re planting it. If you actually know how to scout, pursue and hunt deer in their natural environment and movement patterns it doesn’t matter.
I feed the deer around my house corn. They come every dusk and dawn when i whistle while putting the corn out. One day i bought apples from the store and cut them up so theyd smell more and the deer didnt even touch them. I was shocked. My dad has 3 apple trees growing in his yard and those deer come every day in the fall and eat the ones thhat fell and stand on their back legs to get the low hanging ones. When i picked some crab apples off a tree near my house my neighborhood deer loved them.
Needs further testing. GPS coordinates for this spot, please!!
Well if you have standing corn I think you might get a more equal result and not all acorns are the same white oaks are the preferred acorns in the Midwest from my experience. I think the shelled corn is easier for Deer to eat.
Yaa Buddy 👍. Dad and kids doing things together, in and about the great outdoors. At 72yrs old, most of my favorite memories, are of times spent with my Dad, on various excursions into the wilds of Arizona...❤😊
Soybeans
Yeah.....a great dad, his son sneezed twice and not even a bless you ..... what a shame
* keep in mind acorn's off the ground are the not the best there ones squirrels have passed over for not being perfect
Why do I think you feed more corn on your farm . This is the first time deer have seen peanuts .
👍👍
I knew of course that the deer would prefer the corn over the acorns any day and only maybe eat the acorns if there was nothing left of the corn. Other animals do like acorns not just squirrels of course. Raccoons will eat anything! 😁
Acorn fed deer aren't fit to eat.
Maybe if the acorns were unshelled they would be more popular. 😊
Bet under an oak tree they will eat acorns
Here's two tests for you to try carrots versus Corn and the other test is Acorn versus oats
Is it best to take different sizes of flukes when fishing for hybrids?
3:47 monster buck there he had some thick antlers. And he’s out there in broad daylight
Those were some very nice bucks several of em. They definitely don’t seem to be under much if any hunting pressure
For the past 4 years I have been feeding deer who come to our property almost every day and I have been feeding them corn. I have shopped in many stores and have never seen acorns for sale. A 35 lb. bag of corn from Walmart only costs $ 6.00. You can't beat that.
Those Acorns probably have your Human scent from collecting them and the deer have over 27,000 olfactory scent glands to which warns them as opposed to pouring the corn straight out of a bag with no physical contact to leave your scent.
The Indians had to process the acorns first. They did a leaching process in the river after crushing them etc.
Great video! Do you fish the bait rigs on the bottom or do you do 2 cranks up like the dead sticking?
for those guys who don't know why the motor is running like that it's because the white bass get fired up when they here that water flopping like that they start chasing bait and schooling up hard hearing the motor run like that where theres a school near by
Here in Alabama it comes in waves. Late winter I see certain deer go more for corn for carbs and fat. Does who are already pregnant go more for protein. Then around the time antlers drop until antler hardening I see almost all deer go for protein over corn. We had a bumper crop of acorns this year.
The type of acorn actually matters. I don't hunt the red oaks as much as the white oaks here in NC. My uncle lives on a hill in a town nearby. He has heavy white oak drops every year. We are lucky to be able to literally take a leaf blower, and blow them to his steep driveway and collect about 2 truckloads every season. We generally put just acorn out at the beginning of season, and then mix them with corn about halfway through season and save a lot of money on feeder filling.
Here a good content idea. Apples v Pears. The bucks around my house chase off the does from the pear tree pushing them over to the apple trees. As soon as the bucks leave the does move to the pears. Deer I believe have a sweet tooth
Do you recommend bulldog or precision jigs? Or both?
People bought wiped the sand bass out at falls lake nc here we call them white bass if your friends want some fish tell them to go to the grocery store or go catch there own,you giveing fish away is worse than the fish eaters, catch & release bro all the way these days
@@randolphray7896 where we are at white bass are prolific breeders and hybrid bass die after 6-7 years. I see it as a use or lose and make sure wildlife department keeps stocking hybrid bass. I don’t see great benefit of throwing back a bunch of hybrids
