Arrowhead hunting TN - Massive 5"+ point, plus 3 artifacts found within 3' of each other!

  • Its been a busy year for the artifacts, and big ones at that! The benton (?) in this video is one of my largest. I was 50/50 on if it was actually an artifact when I started to pull it. What emerged from the mud left me with my jaw dropped! Another jaw dropping moment for me in this video is the 3 artifacts found all laying right next to each other. One of which I think is a possible shaft straightener? Leave your input in the comments on your thoughts on it and others. Thanks for watching and please like and subscribe!

      Thanks for checking it out and glad you didn’t feel your time was wasted! Artifacts are one thing that people are either totally interested in, or totally not! Haha But as you could tell I keep my vids simple and to the point. On the artifacts! I should have another out in a week or so. I’ve had some good luck here lately! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment, it’s appreciated!

But I’m with ya man, I enjoy the points, but I also really enjoy seeing the every day use artifacts as well. It helps me visualize their lifestyle in other ways than going around stabbing things, or scraping hides! Haha thanks as always for watching buddy!

      Dang man, hope its a walk in the park for you. Ya know… if you just spent more time out in the woods hunting for artifacts instead of standing shoulder to shoulder with people shopping in Walmart, wearing their pj’s at 4 in the afternoon, then you wouldn’t have to worry about it! Haha Just messing with ya buddy! Hope you have a speedy recovery, and hopefully you won’t still be stuck at home in a couple weeks when I put out another vid!

    I enjoy your channel in a few ways. Not only for the artifacts, but the peace and quiet in nature on the waters edge. Then there's the fact l keep reptiles & see all the cool drift wood & root ball bases exposed. Some of your grabs hidden amongst them is like a double score in my eyes. I'd have a boat full of branches looking like a floating beaver dam man lol

    • @Points365
      @Points365  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      “Floating beaver dam” hahah oh man, what a hilarious mental image that gave me! Every now and then I find a piece of driftwood that is just too neat to pass up. All my favorite walking sticks I take along with me are all what I call beaver sticks.. nice, straight, solid sticks that have had the bark chewed off my a beaver. It makes for a neat looking walking stick!

    Now that big rock with the groove in it is cool. I like tools like that. Not just points. The heavily used tools were so important to them. Some guys don't show the everyday tools, scrapers,ads,celts etc. I think they are as important as the points and blades in my opinion. Cool find !! That point at 15 min. is thin. You definitely saved that one from tumbling in the river or creek, probably would have broke. But u never know. Beautiful finds my friend!! Darn, I had to keep on editing the comment. That awesome point at around the 18 min mark is something. That grey strip through it resembled a cross on one side to me. Another beautiful one!

    • @Points365
      @Points365  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah man, like you I really enjoy the everyday tool / artifacts. It gives you a better glimpse into their lives. But yeah, that thin one was found what looked like right as it slid out of the bank. It kills me to think of all the artifacts that are continually lost to the murky depths of lakes and rivers! Thanks for the comment buddy, and for taking the time to check it out!

    Great video and awesome points. Brings back many wonderful memories of flipping flint in beautiful fields of middle TN in my youth. The paint rock or hematite was not only used as a dye when crushed into powder but I was told was used as a sharpening stone for bone awls and needles. This always made sense to me and I have several examples of the same grooves both deep and shallow. I hope this is provides a good explanation and helps. That was a nice Kirk snap base I believe too.
    Keep on hunting and sharing!

    That's some nice stone tools my friend . don't think it's a shaft straightener . I think it would be used for sharpening bone tools ? The big point at he end kind of reminds me of a Maples , they are usually large blades .

      Thanks buddy! Bone tool sharpener would make more sense… that would explain the smaller scratches on it as well. But YES… a maples for sure! Now that I know what it is, I can say that’s only the 2nd one I found. The other of which was found at the same point a couple years back. Thanks as always for chiming in sharing the years of knowledge you have. I’m always ready to be taught a thing or 2, or to be corrected.
