    This Hass to be one of the best how to do videos I’ve seen
    Minimized all the extra talking that we did not need to hear
    You showed very closely what exactly you were talking about and what you did , very very well done, sir.
    I need to replace my downpipe and wanted to watch things came off and we’re put back on this video was perfect.
    Thank you very much for putting this video on and I will probably watch it again when I replace my turbo .
    My hats off to you, sir

    Dude I got lucky putting on the back clamp. I got back clamp on 30 minutes. Thanks to your video. Now my body is hurting laying on top of the motor. 😆

      Yeah it’s terribly uncomfortable laying on all those motor components. It’s great to hear that you had some good luck with the clamp!

    Just finished one-I found out the easiest way-really the only way I could get the turbo on was to take the up pipes off and mount the exhaust bracket to the turbo on then place it on the truck- up pipes needed new gaskets anyway and it made it a hell of a lot easier-but you need to remove the downpipe for easier access

    • @JustinBiddix
      @JustinBiddix  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That sounds like some work! I am lucky I didn't have to take the up pipes off.

      I made a platform to lay across. With the alternator removed and the bolts reinstalled, it acted as a stand. Used 2 football bleacher cushions cut in two to balance the wood I placed above it. I then used the last half of the cushion as a chest cushion. To get the v clamp on, I didn't mess with it for more than 15 min before realizing it wasn't going to go on. Ford and their infamous wisdom used the shortest bolt possible on the clamp. Preventing you to get the nut on. I went out and found a longer bolt and used a hard wheel of a grinder, and shaped the head to match the original. It took me 5 minutes to put it on, and I had the truck put together in 3 hours there after. Get a grade 8 bolt with full threads that's an inch longer. I didn't have a fully threaded bolt, so I had to dye mine. I actually ran to bolt length problems on most of the clamps. But I was able to make due as they're very accesible, unlike the one on the back. Hope this helps.

    I was about to say got any lube to slide turbo in place. Now that was sweet you got help. Hope you put some Greece on orings bottom of pedestal might move and then you half to pull it again. I'm going to half to do this I'm terrified because i have arthritis and it sux to do mechanical jobs. Like the way you did the fuel filter. Ok now come do mine ha ha.

      @JustinBiddix  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The grease on the o rings is a great idea. Thanks! It’s a tough job especially for someone that has arthritis. Just set aside a day or two and take your time and it will work out.

    If you lube the fuel filter gasket you can get it off like normal

    • @JustinBiddix

    Is that turbo from stigan? Great video btw. I like to poke a hole in my oil filter w a screw driver to let it drain before i pull it off.

    • @JustinBiddix
      @JustinBiddix  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for that tip! I will try that. The turbo is from Garrett. The same brand that was on the truck from the factory

    Is that the whole kit that cost $2200? For the upgraded turbo?

    • @JustinBiddix
      @JustinBiddix  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is an original oem Garrett turbo charger. There is a link in the description. I just checked and it’s 1075 dollars right now. I highly recommend it, it is still working great and that truck works with a trailer behind it nearly 6 days a week.

      @@JustinBiddix thanks I am looking to upgrade my 2002 7.3 but I don’t know if I only need to upgrade just the turbo or do I need to buy anything else?

    • @JustinBiddix
      @JustinBiddix  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@nosu376 I’m not really an expert on upgrades. But I would probably go with some type of kit. Sorry, not really much help. I’ve never really upgraded anything on a diesel truck. I do have a tuner on my 5.9 Cummins and a stronger clutch. That tuner makes a huge difference.
