    Man this is one of the best things about Harleys. If you want to know how something is built or what a part is or looks like on a Harley, there is almost ALWAYS video for it on youtube.
    This is awesome.

    I am so glad I found this channel! Also so glad that you and the shop you work is as close to me as it is. Your attention to detail and passion is ever present and blatantly obvious, even for a noob like me to recognize.

    May I just say, you are easily the most respectful, decent, intelligent and careful technician I’ve ever seen for Harley on the net. Ever. If I were the owner of this place, you would be in charge of choosing all new and existing tech support and training. You will go far young man.

    Let's say I would do a Stage II and change my lower rocker box cover.
    Can I re-use the stock pushrods or should I use adjustables anyway ?
    Thank you Sir !

      most stage 2 cams will still use your stock pushrods. would wanna check with your cam manufacture tho.

    I was actually after the thread pitch. I believe it is 1/2.-20 tpi however I’m not overly sure. I’m in Australia so I know metric. Thanks again.

    I was just wondering why the client didn't want a dyno tune? And why was the idle so low?
    I am in the progress of building my M8 114 stage 2 with much of the same components. I am aming for 130hp/130tq, my exhaust might let me down but I'll know in a few weeks.

    Another great video. I’m hoping to do a big bore on my 17 107. My question is are the oil control rings in the SE big bore 2mm? Stock 107 is 2mm, I was hoping SE are 3mm like the aftermarket.

  • @aaroncox3340
    @aaroncox3340 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Really enjoyed that.
    Question :
    If I just replace my 114 cylinders on my 21 ultra to 117 cylinders, which are new, do I have to have change anything else ? Heads?
    I'll have a 468 zippers cam.
    Just subscribed. 🤘👍

    • @HarleyDavidsonWizard
      @HarleyDavidsonWizard  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope. The 117 cylinders and pistons are direct replacements for the 114 cylinders and pistons. But if you in that far you might as well do the 122 or 131.

    • @aaroncox3340
      @aaroncox3340 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HarleyDavidsonWizard I did think of that, but the 117 cylinders are going cheap, the person has upgraded to a 128, and I thought, what the heck 🙂
      Thanks so much

    Brad, I am a little confused this is a 114 going to install 117 stage 4, will this make the bike 131? Can I ask you where do all the parts go after you remove them, I am seeing so many upgrades on new bikes they are all still good parts, you can dam near build a new bike from them, lol?

    • @HarleyDavidsonWizard
      @HarleyDavidsonWizard  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Before the 131 stage 4 came out there was a 117 stage 4 kit. The 117 stage 4 is nothing compared to the 131 stage 4. All the parts are held for the customer. 60% of the time the customer doesnt wasn't them and most take off parts in general are picked up by a 3rd party that swap meet/ebay them and the rest are sent to the reycling yard.

  • @pharaohnile867

    I noticed you didn't gap the piston rings . Or is it not necessary to gap the rings.

    • @HarleyDavidsonWizard
      @HarleyDavidsonWizard  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I check the ring gap against the instructions with the kit. With the harley screaming eagle parts. Gaping rings isn't susposed to be required but needs to be checked.

      Ok thanks Brad I'm building a 128 M8 engine I learned alot from watching your videos. Your videos are simple and easy to understand .Some of these other guys on TH-cam building engines do a bunch of over kill building a M8 engine like they think their performing some sort of miricle or something LOL 🤣🤣.Thanks for all your help Brad your the true wizard 😀👍👍✌️

    Hey Brad, I have a stage III 119, but want to top it off with the cnc heads and 64mm carb. do you think I can leave in the stage II cam or should I go to stage Iv or bigger size? Thanks

  • @vswebster
    @vswebster 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why go 114 to 117 stage 4? why not just go to 131?

    Brad I really enjoy your channel. Can you advise what size thread the M8 oil plug is? Thanks

    • @HarleyDavidsonWizard
      @HarleyDavidsonWizard  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The head of the drain plug is 5/8. Is that what you wanted to know or do you want to know the thread pitch?

  • @Jimmy_Jim_Jim_1234
    @Jimmy_Jim_Jim_1234 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey Brad thanks for the vid.
    Why did the customer spend all that money on a new bike? For more power? Will that power cause other issues like clutch slipping, or compinsator damage?

    • @HarleyDavidsonWizard
      @HarleyDavidsonWizard  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya the customer wanted more power. This kit is pretty conservative and isnt too hard on the oem components. personally I would do a S&S oil pump and lifters but that's just my opinion.

      @mojomanmurph1925 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HarleyDavidsonWizard Yeah but it won't be covered under Extended Service Plan. Got to use Harley parts. From the customer's perspective, it gets discouraging when Harley mechanics dislike Harley parts when trying to add more power.

      @@HarleyDavidsonWizard Why did he only go to 117"? He spent a hell of a lot of money on parts and labor to only go up 3 CI. That throttle body and air cleaner is overkill for 117", Its the same stuff HD kits out in the 131" package.
