Every time I watch one of your videos I am taken by just how much electrical equipment is needed on bikes and cars these days. Years ago I built a pre-unit Triumph Chopper which had a magneto ignition and about a dozen wires.... one 'dipswitch' for the headlamp and one brake light switch... even the charging system only had a bridge rectifier and a Zener diode to dump excess power - no battery - and to turn the lights on and off I simply pulled the wire of the rectifier..... When I I took the fuel injection off my 2010 Streetbob I removed about 30 to 35 % of the wiring..... Oh the simple things are so much easier.....
I’m about to get the Stage IV on my RGL. I wish that you were here in CA to install it. I love your work and passion. Keep up the good work. Blessings.
Hey Brad, great videos, very in depth and explanatory. I have been wrenching for a while, but still learning. Did my 475 cam upgrade and new clutch, upgraded compensator etc. But I just bought a Fueling 128" kit for my '20 FXLRS and I am going to do the install myself. Very confident in my ability, but I have one question about reinstalling my pushrods. I currently have the S&S quickee pushrods I installed on my cam upgrade. I will not be touching the cam chest or lifters (as cam was installed less than 2 months ago) and will be using stock heads. When I open the Rocker Boxes and pull the pushrods, will I be able to just slide those back in when the new cylinders and heads are reinstalled or should I go through the adjustment process again? Since I am not changing the cam or heads, I figured I could just take note of which pushrod goes where and reuse them w/o collapsing and readjusting. But wasn't sure and since I was unsure I was planning on just reinstalling and adjusting them after the motor was back together.
I'm assuming you've completed your project already but id recommend readjusting the pushrods. personally it doesn't take long to adjust the pushrods and Id rather know its perfect rather then assume,
@@dustinacton9708 Yeah all good but to be honest the Stage 3 would probably suit my riding style better. You see the good numbers with a stage 4 but higher in the rev range. Which would be awesome if the speed limit in Australia was the same as those in Europe.
I like the 128 and 131 kits. There alot of fun. Easy to do and they keep your factory warranty. I like them alot and I'd recommend them. I dont like the 114/117 stage kits tho, the performance out of them isnt that great.
Wow sir beautiful bike looks amazing,i have a question if u dnt mind answering regarding tuning of 131ci does it have to be tuned with screaming eagle tuner or it can be tuned using any aftermarket tuners such as vance and hines fuel pack and also is it necessary to dyno a bike inorder for it to be properly fine tuned???
Wizard, I appreciate your video content here on Harley-Davidson. I wish I had your tools and knowledge. Keep up the good work! Do you also ride, or just wrench?
Them pipes are awesome, i put the same on my Dyna Superglide a few years ago. A question if i may... why not upgrade the Primary chain tensioner? Are they a problem on the late models as they were on the Dynas?
Nice Work ! I had my 2017 Roadking done with a 114 stage 4 kit in 2017 and find the cam noise annoying . wich cam upgrade could you advise for the screaming eagle stage 4 kit ?
Technically yes. But the motor company would have a hard time proving the exhaust alone cause some kind of engine damage. So in a warranty situation, if a customer expects warranty with a aftermarket exhaust, they better be ready to argue with motor company.
hello. I followed as closely as I could and I started my softail but it seem loud and am not sure its getting oil. i put 5 fresh qts and let it run for about a minute and checked the dip stick and the level doesn't seem to have moved up or down. how do I verify?
You won't really notice the oil level drop using the dipstic. Because as oil is pumped into the engine, oil is also returned to the oil tank. When you start the bike as long as the oil light on the speedometer goes out. Then you have oil pressure. It can take a minute or 2 for the lifters to pump up if you've used new lifters.

Brad, I'm build my first big bore kit 96 to 110 S&S. My question is, in gapping the rings, the expander ring has an overlap. S&S says that's OK, everything I see on TH-cam/internet says I should have some gap. Your opinion?
The expander ring acts as a spring. So if you install the expander ring (by itself in the cylinder bore, it's in its relaxed position) it can be visually larger in diameter then the cylinder bore. It's more noticeable on certain ring pack designs but ya, that's normal. The wavyness in the design of the expander ring are like the coils of a spring. There aren't ever any size adjustments for the ring expander. It's a built in engineered dimension. It's like if you pulled the coil spring off your car and you just looked at it by itself, youd go that thing is way too tall there's no way that would ever fit in the car but it's not compressed yet and that's a good comparison.
Nice job, my question is would the 131 kit fit on the Breakout? It’s the same motor as the touring bike. Thinking about a 2020 Breakout but I would like to get the 131kit if it would fit. Any help with the question would help me a lot in making my decision about a new bike. Thank you in advance.
The 131 kit would fit in a Softail but is only offered for touring models in the Harley-Davidson catalog meaning that there wouldn't be a tune calibration for it in the Street Tuner and there wouldn't be any warranty through Harley-Davidson.
