- Seam the Shopkeeper is a character with many mysteries that connect them to Jevil, Spamton, the Shadow crystals and the other secret bosses coming in the future! in this theory video i discuss if this Creepy cat may have a interesting future in deltarunes plot, with them becoming a Secret boss in a future chapter of the game...

I'm more than certain we'll learn more about Seam somehow! They're a truly fascinating character, and I can't wait to return to their little Seap.
Perhaps seam too wants to become free, but seeing spamton, knows he needs more power.
Is it just me? Or does seam kinda look like Gaster. Like the button taking the place of Gaster's open eye, then there's the curve of the other eye with a sharp smile? There's also a stitch under the button eye which matches Gaster's design, just a thought.
i love this because i love seam and i think they are clearly important in some way, but they are still... skippable. obviously most players go into seam's shop in chapter 1 and in town but they literally just don't have to. as much as they feel important, i can't really see a way to.. clearly bring them into the focus of anything

I mean the same goes for other secret bosses, they are missable as well. And heck, if you're doing Jevil, Seam is mandatory. So, maybe you can fight seam only if you beat every other secret boss, and if you're doing secret bosses, then you're definetly not missing a non-secrer shopkeeper
@@leritykay8911you have to give the shadow crystals to them as well, so theyre sorta mandatory for *every* secret boss if you go along with the full sidequest
The thing is that the secret bosses have both been driven insane. That's the whole point of the freedom motif, you can also hear the freedom motif in other songs, not just the secret boss ones. The shop theme only has the because Seam is associated with the secret bosses.
I think Seam might be the Judge (like Sans) of deltarune where he meets you at the end and congratulates you for the secret bosses you've beaten and the shadow crystals you've have gotten but judges you for the weird routes you tried to start or went through and also the amount of times you've just decided to use violence to get through your problems.
Something i'm surprised you didn't show is that Flowey takes Shawn's eyes when he says everyone in his boss battle. Show that he's a character thought from some time already.

nice, but jevil alone has 5 defence, and thats like a 5% attack debuff, defence 97 = 97% attack debuff.
6:53 this also tells us the game has a bad ending, as he says nothing we do matters.
If he knows everything, he must be pessimistic for a reason.
Seam is an anagram of same, not important but could hint that he is the same as the other secret bosses, abandoned from the light world, and in the dark world someone who sees futility in their choices
I've always loved the idea of Seam being a Secret Boss despite the fact many often wonder why I feel this way. But I always wonder... Why would they want the Shadow Crystals? They're an abandoned item, they know stuff about the game and its mechanics that others would not and often times even wonders Kris for what is to come. To me it almost seems like they're collecting those crystals to become more powerful and if anything may use it to fight the party to test their strengths, but who knows! Time will tell! Very interesting and well done video analysis! :D
I confidently believe they’ll be the Snowgrave final boss, maybe even with Megalovania playing but that’s just a long shot

He’s also aware he’s a video game character. Why would you need to say your name is pronounced XYZ if you are just speaking with someone? He knows that there’s someone reading his words.
I don’t know if Seam was intentionally breaking the 4th wall in that moment. I typically don’t like to use straight 4th wall breaks in these videos unless it’s obviously building towards something (like Jevils game metaphor) or it’s intertwined with the Meta narrative like a lot of the gaster stuff is. And that’s mainly because Toby does it a lot for Mundane things like tutorials, and it’s usually easy to tell what’s a Joke 4th wall break VS a lore 4th wall break.
I think That line could just be Toby joking and clarifying the pronunciation for the reader. He does the same for Rouxls in chap 2
(But if you really want to use that line for a theory, I guess you could probably connect that to Spamton breaking the 4th wall at the fountain in Snowgrave)
It's odd because he just seems to be a normal darkner, yet has some sort of meta knowledge like Ralsei or the extra bosses

About knowing the future and the past, my theory is that they all know that they're in the game, and they know how the game ends, and no matter what you do, you'll reach the same ending, and they'll never truly be free. I think Ralsei also knows, but he wants the player to play through it, similar to Flowey. Seam sees every action as futile, Jevil becomes chaotic knowing that his actions don't have consequences, and Spamton wants to break the away from the inevitability.

@@ValueNetwork thanks! I myself put a lot of work into editing my videos lately so I have been extra observant on who edits good and who edits just okay. So despite you only having less than 2K subs, I’d still say that you edit better than bugger TH-camrs like dorked or jaru
12:39 Latern doesn't have the freedom leitmotif, the tempos matching doesnt matter that much. Latern only has the rude buster leitmotif and determination.Latern is essentially just rude buster in 3/4
That in and of itself is interesting though, why make the shop theme more or less a variation on the standard battle theme from deltarune/ the game over theme from Undertale?

People that equip the Twisted Sword via using the Spamton Save editor has the Trance effect. HOWEVER, the arrow on it is in a downwards direction compared to the upwards one shown when you have Noelle equip the Thorn Ring. That may mean that the Pure Crystal inverses the effect of something like the Thorn Ring could be very, VERY, interesting.

The Spamton value network happened when my YT properly blew up for the first time so I just named myself after that!

I don't believe so, since the pattern of someone unexpected being a boss has kinda... Been done already by Toby, so I don't believe he would do that again, that is just the meta reason though.

I mean they are very connected to the secret bosses, so it would be kinda hard for someone who hasn’t interacted with the secret bosses to understand what’s going on

If you say no when Ralsei offers to tell you the prophecy in chapter 1, lancer bursts in and tells an abridged version instead. He mentions that he’s in the legend then says that they have to go east to seal the fountain.
So yeah: It’s in the script!
(I messed up reading MY script by saying darkner instead of Kid at that moment, but that doesn’t matter, the same sentiment was conveyed: Lancer knows he’s in the legend)
