Marie-Anne, your videos have always been great, but now they are THE BEST ON TH-cam! You teach in a very clear and detailed manner how to achieve that polished and still natural look many women are striving for. I also greatly appreciate your attempts to introduce some variety to the format - featuring other people and places outside of your home is a great step forward, for sure. Thanks for all the work you are doing! You send a great message across!
Marie Anne, I am obsessed with your channel, I never realized that this is how I dress, it’s so nice to watch your videos and get some wonderful tips from you. ❤️ I have a skirt and sweater just like this. I also see your strand of pearls in other videos, and I have my pearls that my parents gave me when I was 16.... I still love them, many many many years later. They look just as yours, so timeless.....
Wonderful video, Marie-Anne. I have worn this look several times, but usually with black dress pants and a knee length black coat. You look lovely as always.
Classic wins again! Very inspiring video. Many of your choices are staples in my own wardrobe. Thank you for wisely ignoring recent fashion forecasts declaring low heel boots passe. Fall & winter demand appropriate footwear to navigate urban & country cold and icy streets!
Stunning. I noticed that lovely jacket on your closet rack. I would wear a V neck jumper and a houndstooth scarf. I have a skirt that matches a jacket just like that in my wardrobe that I was going to give away. Not now. Fabulous video madame. Thankyou
I love your outfit at the opening of the video!! So pretty, classic, but tres chic!!! That light pink blouse is absolutely gorgeous against your skin!! I can't wait to see the rest of the video, since this is absolutely my favorite season, along with Winter!! Thanks so much for your beautiful video, et a bientot!! 😊😊😊✝️⚜️
This is a very elegant ensemble. I love the jacket with it and the scarf sets off the whole thing. Pure elegance. The patterned stockings are the perfect touch to step it up a notch. I think each item adds elegance to the look. People here use air conditioning all winter so I never get warm even indoors. I love layering too. I always wear scarves and on my outer coat I wear a pin or brooch.I agree with the other ladies that your silk blouse is beautiful. Pink is also my favorite color. These type videos are very helpful thank you.
Thanks for a fantastic video. This is the way I like to dress. I love black but feel it is a little harsh next to my face. I love the idea of showing the color in the scarf next to my face to soften the look a bit. And thanks for the advice about not obsessing over the way I tie the scarf. Your technique was very simple but soft and beautiful.
This video inspired me to transfer the look to a dark navy sweater dress. And as a reversal of the color to the styling of a tweed dress with plain blazer. Thank you so much - especially for the words to the scarf!
Bonjour. I like the outfit. Thank you for the tip on all you need to know is 2 ways to tie a scarf. I struggle with scarfs and how to make a perfect bow.
Thank you so much. This video has helped me with necklines- I was slim with athletic hips -size 8-10 and am now , with age, am bigger busted (36dd) and size 10-12 and in the 50 year age gap but still have slim hips. I now feel more confident knowing my best necklines. Thank you also as I notice you use square scarves mostly. This is particularly helpful too .The tip on tucking in the coat pocket flaps is unique and wonderful advice!, ,I am actually working on my new French style wardrobe now, confidently, and feeling very excited. On to your next video and THANK YOU 😊
So elegant as always....thank you to share this outfit and for inspiration. It's so good and also funny to look in my closet to recreate your looks and give new value to things i already have. Thank you Marie-Anne, have a nice evening. See you next time💟
A very nice video, I really like scarf advice which is so useful to remember for a person's complexion. I'd also like to mention that the blouse you are wearing is perfect and such a luxurious color :).
@@MarieAnneLecoeur Oh, I hate to narrow it down but that's just me probably. One thing is that a scarf should serve one's complexion well but at the same time serve the joining outfit well, color-wise. And, then the thing that is especially French I think would be where you mention that a scarf should be put on (to appear to be) in an effortless way. As a side note, when men wear their tie knot a bit askew; to the side. To me it looks like the man is trying too hard to play the rogue, or whatever the effect is supposed to be. So there I vote for symmetry. But with a woman's scarf there are so many variations that work. Again, your advice in this video is enough for a lifetime of style.
Love the beautiful black skirt with the feminine ruffle...the whole outfit is tres chic! Scarves are also a favorite of mine...I wear black especially in cool weather as it suits my coloring, and then a lot of navy as a basic in the warm weather...but yes, some people look better in warm or light colors like brown or camel , but you can’t beat black for sophistication or evening wear- enjoying your videos Marie-Anne. ☺️‼️💕
Bonjour Marie Anne, I appreciate how you layered the outfit. Thank you again for your informative videos---taking notes! Until I find room for a manneqin, I am the mannequin.

Bonjour! Great video! I just wanted to add it's not only in Paris that we French women wear this type of outfit. :) It is a timeless French classic no matter the region in France. In Lorraine where I am from, it's been a favourite for... decades: when it's not black, it's the same type of outfit in bleu marine/navy blue, or camel, or grey, or brown. Same in most other regions, like Bourgogne, Bretagne etc etc ....

The only thing that I am somewhat concern if any is the fact that many people has this concept of owning many clothes in order to be dressed well. I live in a small village in Italy, but today I will go out as a Parisienne. I have similar clothes in my wardrobe, I just to find the right scarf, maybe I can go for the plain white. Merci mille fois Marie Anne
Bonjour from America ! We plan to visit Paris in October 2020. Contemplating walking shoes which have form and function. I like a 2 inch heal or wedge for height. Can you recommend something other than flats ?
Elaine, same here. I found the brown (which is still in my closet) to be not as elegant as camel. So, I'm transitioning to more navy and camel. I love taking Marie-Anne's ideas and adapting them with her principles.
Marie-Anne. I wondered if you had any good tips or advice to give about the care of our clothes, the best ways to store and keep them in good condition. There's nothing worse than finding an item with hanger marks at the shoulder.
Very nice outfit although I personally find that black tends to drag me down (mentally as well) and prefer to do as you suggest and go for other colours which for me are grey, winter white, burgundy, oatmeal etc in the wintertime. One thing I thought might be useful to add to these videos is the type of event/activity/day you have in mind when you put these outfits together. This to me seems quite a work-oriented outfit and I am interested to know if this is the case. If not, what type of outing (presume this is not a day at home outfit) did you have in mind. I’ve just come back from a trip to France. I have visited quite a lot of times but people to me days look as casual as anywhere else (I did not not visit the business area La Défense so can’t comment on business dress) and am wondering where else you would wear this type of outfit. Many thanks.
Marie-Anne Lecoeur thanks Marie-Anne. You’re quite remarkable the way you respond to all the questions in your videos. Look forward to many more enjoyable videos!
I love it! Loved the final outfit. I wear black more as a skirt/pants than a blouse/sweater. I favor navy, personally. I have a navy pea jacket in wool that I love. It's double breasted. Always my go-to. Cheers!
I love black when the temperature goes down. It’s so chic and you don’t need a lot of things to look great if you know how to wear it. My only problem is having three cats at home so I can’t let them come close when wearing black. While in Paris three weeks ago I wore mostly black, navy blue and gray jeans with ivory, charcoal and white light sweaters, turtleneck and my breton shirt on a rare sunny and gorgeous autumn day. The weather was divine but I usually wore a light black coat that I found in Zara and I just loved it because despite it was black the fabric had some white “sprinkles”. My ankle boots were always with me as well as my scarves and pashminas. It really makes your day when even locals mistake you for a parisien...until I opened my mouth and my poor French came out😹 but it added the funny part and despite what some say, I have found parisians are lovely. The clue as I have learned over and over and specially from you, don’t look like you are trying too hard. Be natural, wear what you love and what makes you feel great and comfortable. Marie-Anne, I watched your other videos, I like your jackets, they are classy. Where can I buy french style silk scarf, I live in the USA. What online store ship to the states?
Lovely outfit, very simple and chic. My winter coat is a bit more closer fitting to my body than that and it makes it harder to layer under it. Next time I buy a coat, I’ll keep that in mind. Love the pink blouse you are wearing? Does it come in other colors?
Anne-Marie, I really enjoyed watching you create this classic look. I would substitute gray for black as black has become too harsh for me. I have been looking for the same style boot you used here, only in gray. I am having a very hard time finding them, especially with a slim calf. Do you have any suggestions?
@@MarieAnneLecoeur Thank you for responding, Marie-Anne. It seems there are so many choices for wide calf footwear but I have a very slim calf so those just do not work for me... you and I are in the minority, it seems. @@MarieAnneLecoeur I checked the Vestiaire, they got good deals. Thanks! Merci.
I apologize for flipping your first and middle name around in my last message. I think my learning disability was showing.
Like the scarf part also, no perfection ❤️
Excellent. I am looking for a mannequin. Thank you
