Am in LOVE with amlactin daily 12% lactic acid lotion. Took care of rough buppies on my backs forearms and elbows, and signs of skin sagging over top of knees and back upper elbows from having had extreme weight loss

I've used the Paula's Choice 8% AHA gel exfoliant and liked it but after this video I want to try the cerave!! I've watched you for a couple of years and my skin has definitely improved! Thanks Dr. Dray!❤💯
AHAs have been my skin saviour since starting Differin to combat acne (which is prescription through a derm in Australia and is $80 AUD here 😪😭), I use the Pyunkang Yul Peeling Gel every 1-2 weeks and it is AMAZING, the weeks I don’t use it I use a gentler AHA toner, like the Krave Kale-lalu-yAHA. Without AHAs the dry, flaky skin from using adapalene is almost unmanageable no matter how much moisture I incorporate in my routine. But because my skin is sensitive and dry the most I can tolerate any AHA is twice a week. Hope this helps anyone reading the comments 😅

AmLactin was a bit irritating at the beginning, but I'm glad I continued using it, my skin is soo soft and has definitely improved the hyperpigmentation in my inner thighs and armpits, I swear by this product.

The Good Molecules Overnight Exfoliating Treatment is a good one with both lactic & glycolic. It also has salicylic acid. Only $6. I used to love the glow I got with Good Genes from Sunday Riley but its way expensive. The good molecules is a good alternative
Glycolic acid is my favorite active. It produces faster results than retinoids. I always look for products that give me an acid tingle. I love the Alpha Skin Care serum, although I have graduated to Organys 20% glycolic acid serum (more of a toner, though) several times a week. I may try retinol again, but I have had products before that either disappointed me or made me raw (Differin). Right now I am using ascorbic and glycolic acids in my skincare to excellent results, but I think I can get away with trying retinol again. I'll just use vitamin c in the morning, and retinol or glycolic acid at night. Thanks to all that free time I had from the covid lock down, and Dr. Dray, I now consider myself an armchair dermatologist.
@@flowlikewater6576 I started with the Alpha Skin Care Serum at 14% glycolic acid. I used it every day without any issues. If a formula is too strong for you, try using it every other day, or twice a week, or even once a week. Your skin may peel if you don't exfoliate often.

Amlactin is awesome. I hated the smell at first too, but then I read the bottle (🤦♀️🤣) and it says it must be shaken up before use. Now I shake it up well and the smell is greatly reduced. I use it on my neck and body. Love it. Also sometimes I will spot treat with a teensy amount on a qtip dabbed directly on my milia as needed. Helps the milia exfoliate away quicker. Thanks Dr Dray for the information as always 😊 Have a great day! ☀️
I love glycolic acid. It’s the first real skincare treatment I used and it transformed my skin on my face. I started with Serious Skincare Glycolic Cleanser. Amazing results! Now I use their peel, serum and moisturizer as needed. I like to alternate between glycolic acid and retinol at night. I didn’t know there were products for the body. I’ll be getting those too. Thanks for sharing 🎉
One of my favorite creams is Atrac-Train Superior Moisturizing Cream with 10% Urea and 4% AHA, I saw a significant improvement in the skin on my hands and nail strength.

Can you make a video on all the little “critters” that grow (sometimes thrive!🙃) on the skin? For example, I get confused between malesezia yeast, demodex mites, staph aurelias, etc. how can we figure out if we’re overburdened with this, ask our derm to test for it, and how it shows up as overgrowth on the skin? Can you have overgrowth of all? What’s the best one to target first?

I like using the Alpha Enhanced Renewal Cream 12% Glycolic Acid. On alternate nights, I also use Tretinoin for a few nights, then the L’Oreal Vitamin C on another night or two. Between these three, my skin always looks very even and clear. Occasionally, I will just use a nighttime moisturizer before bed. In the morning, I just use a daytime moisturizer plus sunscreen then makeup. None of these products has caused any irritation to the face, but I did begin using them slowly at first.
I use the ordinary peeling solution once a week on my face and their 5% lactic acid daily on the face. On the body I use alpha skin care skin care renewal body lotion 12% glycolic aha daily. It has made the skin on my body so smooth.

Hi Paula, I just watched this video for the second time, so much wonderful information to take in. I am checking my products to see whether I already have anything in my (over-stocked bathroom cupboards) containing glycolic, mandelic or lactic acid, before I buy anything else for my face. Dr Dray said that she doesn't use AHAs on her face (apart from when she tries out products), so maybe I won't make it a priority. Although Dr Dray is still very young in comparison! I may see whether my regular pharmacy has any AHA samples first. Love to you and your family. 👱♀️❤

My husband has been using Amlactin on his face, as directed by our PCP, to help prevent the psoriasis lesions he gets in his brows and around his eyes and he's not had any issues with it. I've tried it myself on the keratosis pilaris on the backs of my arms but I don't at all like the way it feels on my hands. We recently got the new Aveeno Tone + Texture lotion with PHA and it feels the same. I don't know what makes these exfoliating lotions feel that way but I can't stand it. 😩
I used to use the "SR Skincare" (AHA) Glycocilic, Lactic Acid and Mandelic Acid (3 separate products). I can't remember what %s. I still use their (BHA) high strength Salicylic Acid when I want to speed up exfoliation and occasionally on my feet. I don't think I have any AHA face products at the moment, surprisingly?! So I may start using the Glycolic and/or Mandelic Acid again. I am lucky that my skin is very tolerant, so probably won't bother about the Lactic Acid. The UK brand "SR Skincare" used to be called "Forever Young", but changed it's name to "SR Skincare" (probably because of other brands/salons with the same name). I purchase it online, they ship to Australia. 👱♀️❤

Yes as db said, also Dr Dray discusses the skin benefits of homone replacement therapy for women. In addition to wearing sunscreen, I also keep a lightweight scarf in my car. Cute dress 💙 For anyone trying, here’s my experience. I tried Peach and Lilly AHA, too strong. I’ve tried Derm -e overnight AHA and it was more gentle. I’ve tried Neostrada bionic PHA and irritated. The Peach Slices face wash with Salylic acid is a dream. Not sure if it helps the same way for sun spots and hydration but after watching skin care for 40’s I’ve been trying. Also maybe BA, PHA or AHA not for me.
Great acids! The Ordinary has nice lactic and glycolic acids…I started with the 10% lactic and worked up to the 20%. You’re hair is looking great Dr. Dray, love the length!
I started using the Alpha Skin Care (12% Glycolic) Lotion on my body...really impressive results, Thank you for clarifying how to use with Tretinoin - you always come through with the right information just as I need it. Now...off to score some Cerave.....
I’ve loved your content for years and your shirt! Although I do wish you were more clear about whether or not you’re endorsed or anything by the products you recommend.
My question about Glycolic Acid : is it better to use a high concentration above 20% once a week OR to use a low concentration below 8% 3 times per week ? Would such a high concentration be high enough to stimulate collagen synthesis ? Or at home Glycolic Acid is only a good keratolytic.
Surprise! I'm here on a Monday. Happy Columbus Day Dr Dray and family and everyone! I hope that many of you have the day off!😊😊🍁🍁🍂🍂🐿🖑 oh and I really love that color on you Dr Dray!
Interested in trying mandelic acid. After years of skin problems had no real no issues until lately. Getting visible sebaceous filaments, blackheads and dryness (despite being oily) after using PC's 2% BHA and easing back into Differin Gel (both once a week on different nights).
Greetings Dr Dray hope u r well n 🖐Hello Every1 n Happy Monday😀n what a Wonderful Vid…. thanks n This is Gonna b so Helpful🔥👍n Continued Blessings to All💜….
I have been using mandelic acid as I remember you saying that hyperpigmentation could be induced. I always wondered if I switch to glycolic acid when I finish, if my skin would be okay. I also try to not use an AHA when applying retinol on my face some evenings. I started using Neostrata's new formula of Vit C with a PHA and my skin so far is liking it, I think it was some low levels of AHA's in it as well. I think mostly having a clean diet, exercise and water always helps too on the side for collagen and firming of the skin. :)
The Eucerin rough and bumpy lotion has been a holy grail on my body, and it's been helpful with my grandma's foot calluses. I use an AHA serum 2x a week, but I tend to like exfoliating serums that have both AHA and BHA in it to get the best of both. I like the Good Molecules serum, but I have experienced over-exfoliation with it when I used it more than 2x a week. Right now I'm alternating between Hyram's mandelic serum and the Peach and Lily power cocktail serum, and they've been really nice and gentle yet effective.
Hello, I just watched a short video on a “hack” to help vitamin c be more effective and wanted to know your opinion. The short video stated to use a centella asiatica serum with your L-ascorbic serum. This would “quadruple “ the efficacy of the vitamin c serum.

Hi could you please do a video on rosacea as I’m suffering from it for years and been on solantra for a year now. I am also using mild retinol and it has helped a lot with my dry patchy skin I had with rosacea. Any advice would be welcome
I’m seem to see better results to my skin when using Lactic acid, but i feel the pressure to use tretinoin for anti-aging… tho my skin doesn’t look as good when using tretinoin

Forever Young! Bob Dylan 1974 comes to mind! :)
@@UncleCharlie111x2 Yes "The Bobster" of course, and I also think of Alphaville from the 80's (different song, same title covered by others since).

Hi Nada! Happy Monday. Hope you're doing well. ❤
Saw Bob Dylan, The Grateful Dead and Tom Petty in concert together in the early 80's. Happy Monday, Uncle Charlie! Hope you had a wonderful day. Peace and blessings to you, friend. 🙏🕊💜
@@marylawman8603 that's pretty cool Mary!!! Hope you had a nice day too! Thank you God bless!! :)
Skin is thinning in my 50s, love to learn more about special considerations for the face and neck (video idea!)
She has a video on mature skin and she has videos on the neck (younger looking neck, smoothing out neck lines/wrinkles, etc).
Yes as db said, also Dr Dray discusses the skin benefits of homone replacement therapy for women. In addition to wearing sunscreen, I also keep a lightweight scarf in my car. I remember being so glad I had it when I was stuck in traffic once for over an hour. I also have an SPF lipbalm stick in my handbag that I apply to my face hands and neck etc. as a mess free way of reapplying when I'm driving home from work.

Taking a collagen supplement everyday can really beef up skin thickness. Game changer.
Happy Monday!!!
Thanks for sharing 👍🏼

I also love Derm-E products.
Hey Dr.Dray, You look great! I’ve been following you for a long time and always enjoy your content. Many thanks!
Helpful as always!! Thank you very much for your content and your knowledge ♥️
Great acids! The Ordinary has nice lactic and glycolic acids…I started with the 10% lactic and worked up to the 20%. You’re hair is looking great Dr. Dray, love the length!
I am using their niacinamide and mandelic acid. They do have good products.
Where did you buy 20%
@@williamk7035 The Ordinary has a 10% and a 20%

Thanks for the helpful video. Happy Monday, Dr Dray! Hope you have a relaxing evening. 💖
Hi Mary, Yes it was a great video today, packed with so much valuable information. That's why I watched it for a second time.

@@nadab4750 thank you so much! And you are in Australia! Have a good one!
I use the aha cleanser by Balea in the morning. My oily skin likes it :)
Interested in trying mandelic acid.
After years of skin problems had no real no issues until lately. Getting visible sebaceous filaments, blackheads and dryness (despite being oily) after using PC's 2% BHA and easing back into Differin Gel (both once a week on different nights).
Hi Dr Dray. Awesome vid. Thanks🌼🌸

My mother use to use the Apha brand way back in the day. Yes it use to be cheaper I used it a couple of years ago
I'd love to see you discuss facial steaming. Are there benefits? How about for different skin types/acne? Thanks!
She actually has a video on it,

Seems it be drying to the skin when using Tretinoin at the same time

I have been using mandelic acid as I remember you saying that hyperpigmentation could be induced. I always wondered if I switch to glycolic acid when I finish, if my skin would be okay. I also try to not use an AHA when applying retinol on my face some evenings. I started using Neostrata's new formula of Vit C with a PHA and my skin so far is liking it, I think it was some low levels of AHA's in it as well. I think mostly having a clean diet, exercise and water always helps too on the side for collagen and firming of the skin. :)
I use Peach and Lily’s Super Reboot Mask. Great product.
Do you use the eucerin rough and bumpy on your face?
After discovering TCA, I'm not looking back to AHA's 😅
Specially me, having extremely oily and acne prone skin.
Although, i still love my BHA though.
Hi Dr. Dray! Hope you have a great Monday!!
Happy Monday
Hello, I just watched a short video on a “hack” to help vitamin c be more effective and wanted to know your opinion. The short video stated to use a centella asiatica serum with your L-ascorbic serum. This would “quadruple “ the efficacy of the vitamin c serum.
Happy Monday dr Dray and everyone 🤗 great video. I have acne prone but sensitive skin. I just started peach and lily the good acid toner so far good 👍 Have a fabulous day love to mom and Tybee 🌞🌞😍😍🌻🍁

Lactic acid has been a Godsent to my elbows and knees
I wish you’d offer more cruelly free options in your videos.
Your information is so helpful!
I've finally gotten good with sunscreen this year. Now I am noticing how much paler my skin looks than usual. Is there a video for looking good after you have made it through summer without getting any tan.
I just use self tanner if I am wanting to look a tad darker!
thanks for the great information. 🕊🍂🍁🎃🍂🍁🕊
Hi could you please do a video on rosacea as I’m suffering from it for years and been on solantra for a year now. I am also using mild retinol and it has helped a lot with my dry patchy skin I had with rosacea. Any advice would be welcome
I have an oily skin and I am using Paul's choice BHA RIGHT NOW. should I still use AHA?
Hi dr dray u r beautiful as ever ❤
I’m seem to see better results to my skin when using Lactic acid, but i feel the pressure to use tretinoin for anti-aging… tho my skin doesn’t look as good when using tretinoin
Hey 👋 dear Dr Dray 😜💗👍 very interesting video
