Another is toothpaste! You really just need a tiny amount to lather, just like dish soap. The most important thing is the brushing itself to disrupt biofilm and bacteria. Covering the entire toothbrush with toothpaste is excessive

Good advice! Years ago 60 Minutes did a segment about how much toothpaste to use and the dentist interviewed said that you only need a pea-size amount of toothpaste on your brush to clean teeth. It was good to hear and I've done that for years. Saved money and no longer get stomach aches from using too much toothpaste. Thank-you for mentioning! Have a great day.

    Serum - 3 drops
    Eye Cream - rice grain
    Moisturizer - dime/nickel
    Facial Oil - 2 or 3 drops
Sunscreen - 1/2 teaspoon (1/4 teaspoon for face and ears, 1/4 teaspoon for neck. Reapply as needed)

A week ago I started to apply my vitamin C and salicylic acid serums by using your technique. I put 2-3 drops on the back of my left hand and I take my right fingertips to distribute the product on my face and neck. It seriously helped me a lot. Before, I was just rubbing the product between my hands and padding it onto my face. It always felt like the product was already absorbed in my hands than on my face. So it was a big waste of product and really not affective. Thank you Dr. Dray 😊😊😊

Previously I used to feel sad for using the tiny amount of product that I used which have me feel thriftly , in a bad way , mainly cause of how much volume/amount of product I would see people over the internet use, but after this video I don't feel bad anymore, and think that I use a decent amount of product.

Definitely!! These are much needed practical advices!! I personally have been relying on gentle body products more. I find that that saves a lot more money than we give credit for. I like using Johnson baby's shampoo/wash and salicylic shower gels as facial cleansers and they last me a long time. And they're multipurpose.

I find that toners are much easier to apply when I do so to damp skin. They tend to evaporate and absorb fairly quickly which makes it rather hard to get it on the face evenly before it dries down, but when my skin is damp, it takes a bit longer to dry down and I get more of an opportunity to make sure it's evenly applied. Of course, this can be a bit risky with exfoliating toners, but it's made my life a whole lot easier and has improved my skin's hydration, too!

You are so right. Too much product is often used. I saw where someone said a stick of deodorant lasted them 4 months . The same product lasted me over a year !! I just rub it up,down, up. Once a day. How much do you have to use to use it up in just 4 months ?? My goodness !
I've been using too much cleanser. I've gotta be more realistic about how much is needed.
What a great idea to talk about this subject, Andrea.

As someone with dry skin, I am definitely guilty of using several pumps of moisturizers depending on how thick or how hydrating/moisturizing it is. Same with serums/essences/toners. But it's also why I stick with body moisturizers from the pharmacy. So far my faves are from Mustela hydra bebe and Avene trixera body and face fluid.

@Dr Dray - I am so thankful for the simple examples you talked about for sunscreen reapplication. Most content creators are very black and white with their advice, but I love that you stay true to the reality that reapplication will depend on the individual scenario (ex: rubbing your nose due to allergies- focus reapplication to that area). Simple concept, but it seems difficult for a lot of content creators to grasp or communicate effectively.

Excellent video! Thank you! My favorite second cleanse hydrating night time cleanser went out of stock. I wasn't in the mood to try a new cleanser and hoped that it would come back in stock before I ran out. I have oily sensitive acne prone skin and sometimes my skin freaks out when I try new things so I just went sparingly with the cleanser using only one small pump each night. That was a mistake. I guess it wasn't removing enough of the oils and makeup because I started getting acne breakouts and bumpy skin. Thankfully it finally came back in stock and I went back to using two pumps. This experience taught me that it is very important to use the correct amount of product and to learn what that is

Thanks for this valuable video Dr. Dray! Regarding cleansers, I now use a foaming pump dispenser for the Cerave Foaming cleanser. I mix an ounce or two of the cleanser with distilled water in the dispenser. Works great! Cleans the oil from the first step and rinses well.

You should never dilute a product that's not intended to do so. Specially adding water, the product could grow bacteria or mold in it.
The preservative system in them are not designed to work on those conditions for a long period of time.
You can perfectly foam it at the moment with your hand or that dispenser, but never letting sit there with extra water added to the formula.

I like this type of basic topic. But I neglect to reapply sunscreen normally as I use a UV parasol.

Hi Jackie! I hope you're doing well. I'm praying hard for the people and animals too that are being impacted by the hurricane. 🙏 My heart hurts for them. Peace and blessings to you. Sleep well, friend. ❤

I wear black hats, big polarized sunglasses and hoods all the time no matter the weather outside. I apply sunscreen before going out only on the more exposed areas like nose cheeks neck and back of hands.
If i go out early before noon i typically apply the required amount. I just do not like how quick drying spf is it makes it hard to layer even over itself

At least one esty I watch, Go See Christy, suggests placing toners/essences in fine mist spray bottles and using that way instead of pads/cotton balls.
